93 NM. "The 2000 Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru has matured very well in bottle over the last 18 years with perfumed redcurrant and wild strawberry fruit, orange blossom, minerals and just a hint of sage. It is one of the best aromatics that I have encountered from this vintage. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, well judged acidity, nicely integrated oak with good substance and persistence towards the tender, slightly saline finish. In a different league to Damoy's Chapelle-Chambertin. Tasted at Sarah Marsh’s 2000 and 2001 horizontal tasting." Neal Martin, Vinous.com, May 2019 |
