94-96 NM. "Tasted at the Domaine. Matured in 50% new oak, this has a slightly more introverted nose than the other Grand Crus, but complex with black currant, black plum, a touch of linseed, almost nutty element that lends the bouquet another dimension. But it remains introverted in the glass. The palate is full-bodied with saturated black fruits, black cherries, a touch of spice, dried orange peel, a hint of black plum, mulberry and blueberry, leading to a firm, tannic finish with great persistency. Again, an excellent, classic Clos-de-Beze." Neal Martin, Wine Journal, Nov 2008 |
