94 JG. "The 1993 Clos de la Bussière is still very closed, like so many examples of this vintage, but the ultimate quality is readily apparent. The bouquet is vibrant and will be utterly brilliant in the fullness of time, as it offers up notes of black cherries, dark berries, woodsmoke, delicate notes of game, sous bois and graphite. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, deep, young and very pure, with a gorgeous core of fruit, beautiful, tangy acids, modest tannins and superb length and grip on the still fairly primary, but focused and penetrating finish. A great vintage of Clos de la Bussière in the making." John Gilman, View From the Cellar #15, Jun 2008 |
