92+ JG. "The Mugnerets’ bottling of Vignes Rondes has struck me as more and more refined with each passing vintage, but I am not sure if this is a reflection of fine-tuning on the part of the sisters or if the most recent vintages have just emphasized a bit more elegance in this cuvée. There was a time a decade ago when this used to be a pretty sturdy and rather adolescently turbulent wine out of the blocks, but that character seems to be ancient history for this bottling these days. The 2010 Vignes Rondes is exceptional, as it offers up a very suave nose of cherries, pomegranate, coffee, a touch of nutskin, woodsmoke, fresh herbs, lovely soil tones and a gentle base of new oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and impressively complex right out of the blocks, with a fine core of fruit, fine-grained tannins and excellent length and grip on the tangy and beautifully focused finish."
