Holus Bolus Syrah Presqu'ile Vineyard 2018, 0.75L
Syrah from Santa Maria Valley, California

"An extreme version of cool-climate Syrah, this bottling begins with peppercorn, bay leaf, asphalt, green olive and eucalyptus on the nose as well as a pleasant black-raspberry-fruit element. It's very lively on the palate, where the green-peppercorn and Kalamata olive flavors meet with gamy meats and tart black plum." 96 Points Matt Kettmann, WIne Enthusiast

Nebbiolo from Colline Novaresi, Piedmont

"The 2016 Spanna is a beautifully translucent, expressive wine that will delight readers who admire unadorned Nebbiolo. Crushed flowers, sweet red berry fruit, mint, licorice and rose petal all waft from the glass as this mid-weight finely cut Spanna shows off its considerable charms. This is such a gorgeous wine." 90 Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Gail Cabernet Sauvignon Doris 2018, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon from Sonoma County, California

Our inaugural release of Cabernet Sauvignon under our Doris label wine is all from a single vineyard planted in the Warm Springs region of Sonoma Valley. These vines sit at the base of Sonoma Mountain. A dense forest of live oaks and pines mingle with Sonoma’s signature eucalyptus trees offering up notes of wintergreen and menthol. The site is notorious for ripening late into the growing season, allowing the fruit to develop at the perfect pace. Offering up a spectrum of flavors from blueberry to blackberry." Producer Notes, Gail Wines

Domaine Saint-Damien Gigondas Rosé 2019, 0.75L

"Glistening orange. Expansive red berry, pit fruit and orange zest scents, along with building floral and mineral accents. Juicy and seamless in the mouth, offering concentrated raspberry, nectarine honeysuckle flavors that are braced by a spine of tangy minerality. The pit and berry fruit notes carry through a spice-tinged finish that hangs with strong tenacity." 92 Points Josh Raynolds, Vinous

Albert Mann Pinot Gris 2018, 0.75L
Pinot Gris from Alsace, Alsace

"The 2018 Pinot Gris from Domaine Albert Mann comes in listed at fourteen percent and is already wearing its heart on its sleeve, jumping from the glass in an extroverted and classy blend of apple, peach, wheat chaff, a lovely foundation of soil tones and a hint of orange peel in the upper register. On the palate the wine is juicy, full-bodied and complex, with a fine core, a good, solid base of soil, sound framing acids and a long, succulent and wide open finish. This is a very inviting entry level bottle of pinot gris." John Gilman, View From the Cellar

Albert Mann Auxerrois Vieille Vignes 2018, 0.75L
Auxerrois from Alsace, Alsace

"When I first was introduced to the Barthelmé brothers’ wines in the early 1990s, I bought a case of their excellent Pinot Auxerrois Vieilles Vignes in several vintages. The wine always aged beautifully and has been an extraordinary value for a long time. I wonder if the vintages under screwcap will age as gracefully as those old vintages did under cork? In any case, the 2018 version is excellent out of the blocks, offering up a bright and complex bouquet of white peach, clementine, a hint of guava, a beautiful base of chalky soil tones and a floral topnote redolent of both citrus blossoms and honeysuckle. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, crisp and wide open in personality, with a succulent core of fruit, good soil signature, fine focus and grip and a long, zesty finish. This is a 2018, so the acids frame the wine nicely, but probably will not supply a chassis for longer-term cellaring, but in any case, the wine is so delicious out of the blocks that not too many people are going to be inclined to defer gratification!" 90 Points John Gilman, View From the Cellar

Grosjean Cornalin Vigne Rovettaz 2019, 0.75L
Cornalin from Valle d'Aosta, Valle d'Aosta

"Not to be confused with the Cornalin of the Valais, where this cultivar is known as Humagne Rouge, the Cornalin of the Val d'Aoste was by the late 20th century. The Grosjean family first produced this wine in 2005. It is often subtly herbaceous with dominant notes of red cherry fruit; full bodied and lively, the wine has the potential to be a serious, long-lived wine." Importer Notes, Rosenthal Wine Merchant

Marietta Cellars Syrah Estate Gibson Block 2017, 0.75L
Syrah from McDowell Valley, California

"The 2017 Syrah Estate Gibson Block is a total knockout. Inky, rich and voluptuous in the glass, the 2017 possesses off-the-charts fruit intensity. Even with all of its density, the 2017 retains a terrific backbone of acidity and graphite-infused minerality that gives the wine unreal brightness. The 2017 is such a distinctive wine. Vasse Felix Cabernet Sauvignon Premier 2017, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon from Western Australia, Western Australia

"Sure it has the exuberance of youth, but this will age gracefully. Full of raspberries and currants with a cranberry tang alongside menthol and oak playing a part, but not a lead role. Fine and poised tannins, although acidity is very much a driver this vintage, it's refreshing and lively. And like seasoning in cooking, the glug of malbec and petit verdot adds another dimension." 95 Points James Halliday

"This has intense redcurrants and hints of red licorice with a cedary edge to the nose, too. The palate unfurls a very smoothly layered and structured take on elegantly powerful cabernet with a fresh, mouthwatering ride to the juicy, red-fruit finish. Drink or hold." 94 Points James Suckling

The Mascot Proprietary Red 2015, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, California

"Made from the younger vines of Harlan Estate, BOND, and Promontory, The Mascot shares a unique glimpse into the evolution of our winegrowing estates. . .The 2015 growing season began uncommonly cloudy and cool, particularly for a year with very low precipitation. These conditions during bloom resulted in significantly smaller yields of fruit from the younger vines of BOND, Harlan Estate, and Promontory. The summer months, in contrast, conjured stretches of intense warmth that lasted into autumn, spurring one of our earlier harvests to date. The profile of the vintage—much to our surprise—stayed true to the nature of its chilly beginnings, rather than the dry heat of its maturation environs. A deep, meditative core radiates an inner vibrancy through swells of stirringly fresh aromas. The glow of summer sunlight is felt in this otherwise cerebral wine through strength and rounded resonance on the palate. With five years of aging, the pedigree of this vintage begins to emerge with the friendly energy of a loyal companion." Producer Notes, The Mascot

Very round and elegant on the palate, this is a really fresh and stimulating Doux, again with those lovely flavors of matured and dried fruit flavors on the palate. This is delicious and with 65 grams of dosage, it does taste round instead of sweet, thanks to the mineral background and the remarkable finesse and elegance.94 Points Stephan Reinhardt, The Wine Advocate

Angelo Bortolin Prosecco di Valdobbiadene 2018, 0.75L
Glera from Prosecco di Valdobbiadene, Veneto

"The Extra dry version of the Valdobbiadene Docg is the most known and consumed. Its light residual sugar makes it smooth on the palate and dedicated to a delicate consumer. The grapes, that give origin to this sparkling wine, are exclusively hand picked on the steep hills of Valdobbiadene and their vinification is scrupulously controlled and respected. Its fine and persistent perlage, its characteristic fruity aroma, and its low alcohol content, combined with the delicate taste, make this wine ideal for any occasions and at any time of the day." Producer Notes, Bortolin Angelo

"Here's another bottle in the little solider series from this estate in La Morra. Each bottle in this group depicts an old military uniform on its front label. The Renato Ratti 2018 Langhe Nebbiolo Ochetti is a very fragrant and light expression. The wine reveals wild berry and tangy forest fruit with some bitter almond and a good dose of camphor ash or licorice that builds some nice complexity into the bouquet.90 Points Monica Larner, The Wine Advocate

Eigashima Brewery (White Oak Distillery) Akashi Japanese Blended Whiskey NV, 0.75L
Whiskey from Akashi, Hyogo Prefecture

"Designed to be an approachable, sipping whisky, Akashi Whisky has a malty, citrusy characteristic complemented by hints of salinity due to its coastal location. This whisky is distilled from wheat, barley and rye with notes of subtle peat, aged in ex-bourbon, barley shochu, and sherry barrels. Flavors of vanilla and pine nuts delight on the palate, leading to a long, wheaty finish. An excellent introduction to the Japanese whisky category, for those looking for a segue into Scotch, or an everyday drinking dram." Importer Notes, High Road Spirits

Komasa Sakurajima Komikan Gin NV, 0.375L
Gin from Kagoshima, Kagoshima

"Komasa Gin is the craft gin label proudly presented by Komasa Jyozo, a shochu distillery in Kagoshima, Japan with over 130 years of distilling history. Gin and shochu both share the fact that they are distilled spirits. Drawing on decades of distilling expertise and know how accumulated through making shochu, we unveiled our new line of gins in 2018.

Gin is a distilled spirit that has been flavored with juniper berries and other botanicals, like spices and citrus peel. We use our rice shochu as the base for Komasa Gin, to which we add juniper berries and as few other ingredients as possible in order to let the main botanicals shine on their own. Our goal is to utilize and express the natural fragrances and flavors of our quality ingredients to the fullest. With Komasa Gin, we’ve hit upon a revolutionary style of gin that is eminently easy to drink and perfect for everyone." Importer Notes, High Road Spirits

Dominio de Pingus Psi 2018, 0.75L
Tempranillo / Grenache from Ribera del Duero, Castilla y León

"I had already tasted the unbottled 2018 PSI, which saw a jump in quality after they got a new winery where they had much better working conditions. This wine is produced with purchased grapes from 200 hectares in around 750 plots and 20 different villages throughout Ribera del Duero (they now rent and work 50 hectares of these vineyards themselves). In 2018, they were able to use some 12% Garnacha and 2% other grapes, including whites that are found intermixed with the Tinta del País/Tempranillo in the old vineyards. Garnacha adds freshness, and the wine shows it—the character of the grape comes through in the blend. It fermented with indigenous yeasts and matured mostly in 5,000-liter and 10,000-liter oak vats, but 20% of the volume aged in used French barriques for 18 months. The color is quite light (relatively speaking), bright and lively, the nose perfumed, floral and elegant, like no PSI before. The palate is medium-bodied, with fine tannins, and it feels terribly balanced and beautifully textured. It's elegant more than powerful but full of energy. This is without a doubt the finest PSI to date. Viva Garnacha!" 94 Points Luis Gutiérrez, The Wine Advocate

Dominio de Pingus Flor de Pingus 2018, 0.75L
Tempranillo from Ribera del Duero, Castilla y León

"Like the rest of the wines, I tasted the bottled 2018 Flor de Pingus—which I tasted unbottled last year—next to the 2019 that will be bottled in June 2021, and it was great to see how the wines reflected the character of the two vintages. All of the estate vineyards are certified organic, and this is pure Tinta del País, the local strain of Tempranillo, from 40 hectares in five different locations (parajes) of the village of La Horra where the Pingus vineyards are also located. It fermented with natural yeasts and also natural malolactic and matured for 18 months in French oak barrels, 25% new. The day I tasted it, the wine was oakier than normal, but the amount of new oak is not higher than normal. The palate showed much better, with very fine and polished tannins. There is freshness, even red fruit and good balance." 94+ Points Luis Gutiérrez, The Wine Advocate

Montepeloso A Quo 2018, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon / Montepulciano / Sangiovese / Marselan / Alicante Bouschet, from Tuscany, Tuscany

"The 2018 A Quo is rich and explosive in the glass, with superb presence and tons of intensity, but all in the gracious style of the year. Crushed flowers, sweet red berry fruit and spice are front and center. In 2018, A Quo is supremely delicious. Best of all, it remains a tremendous value in artisan wine." 92 Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

"A blend of 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Montepulciano, 15% Sangiovese, 15% Marselan and 5% Alicante Bouschet, the Montepeloso 2018 A Quo is the entry-level expression that unfolds to a rich and sultry display of dark fruit, spice and a touch of charred meat. The blend is quite eccentric, but the basic elements are all there, such as the structure from the Cabernet Sauvignon, the wild character of the Montepulciano and the perfumed intensity of the other grapes. This is a 35,000-bottle production and a terrific value buy." 92 Points Monica Larner, The Wine Advocate

Sandhi Chardonnay Patterson Vineyard 2018, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Central Coast, California

"The 2018 Chardonnay Patterson is dazzling from the very first taste. The aromatics alone are breathtaking. Beautifully layered and so articulate, the Patterson will make its case as one of the Chardonnays of the vintage. Lemon confit, marzipan and light tropical accents all add to its allure. I usually avoid comparisons with French wines, as I think that suggests a subservient relationship, but I will make an exception here, as I can think of no better way to describe the Patterson, which at times reminds of a Chablis from the Grand Cru that starts with a 'C.'" 95 Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Tenuta di Petrolo Torrione 2018, 0.75L
Sangiovese / Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlot from Val d'Arno di Sopra, Tuscany

"A red with plenty of blackberry, black-olive, floral and oyster-shell character. It’s full-bodied, yet layered, extremely polished and beautiful. A dusty texture. Hazelnut and walnut undertones. From organically grown grapes. A little more merlot and cabernet sauvignon in the blend. Gorgeous now, but better after 2021 and onwards." 95 Points James Suckling

"This is such a fun edition of this wine with a fluttering heart sketched onto the front label. I imagine that the heart could be dedicated to proprietor Luca Sanjust's rambunctious mother who recently passed away. Made with organic fruit, the Petrolo 2018 Val d'Arno di Sopra Torrione is a blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The wine opens to a dark and rich appearance with punchy aromas of tart cherry and wild berry. Warm aromas of tobacco, spice and cedar wood appear gradually as the wine opens in the glass. . ." 94 Points Monica Larner, The Wine Advocate

Ridge Vineyards Proprietary Red Lytton Springs 2018, 0.75L

"The 2018 Lytton Springs is a blend of 72% Zinfandel, 18% Petite Sirah, 8% Carignane and 2% Mataro. The nose is lush and open, with aromas of aniseed, red and blue berries, blood orange and earth plus touches of tobacco leaf and dried flowers. The medium-bodied palate combines intense, powerful flavors with a more ethereal, silty structure, and it finishes with loads of juicy layers. It's stunning straight from bottle but will have more to give with time in the cellar. 11,900 cases produced." 96 Points Erin Brooks, The Wine Advocate

"The 2018 Lytton Springs is magnificent. Elegant, layered and so complete, the 2018 has a lot to offer, but it needs time to fully come together. Sweet red cherry, red plum, blood orange, spice, mint and rose petal open up in the glass. Bright acids and beams of tannin give the wine its vibrant energy. "Juicy, bright citrus and stone fruit characters, licks of salty nuts and faint honeyed toast. Rolls around the palate with a sense of high refreshment and pristine, youthful, tight-skinned green grapines – you know, pluck a berry off the bunch straight out of the fridge and chomp. Doyard Les Lumières Extra-Brut 2008, 0.75L
Chardonnay / Pinot Noir from Champagne, Champagne

"A spectacular wine, Doyard's 2008 Extra-Brut Grand Cru Les Lumières was disgorged in November 2018 with minimal dosage. Unwinding in the glass with aromas of orange oil, crisp yellow orchard fruit, fresh pastry, honeycomb and almond paste, it's full-bodied, searingly concentrated and intense, with a racy spine of acidity, immense depth at the core and a long, electric finish. Jean-François Ganevat Côtes du Jura Cuvée Orégane 2016, 0.75L
Chardonnay / Savagnin from Côtes du Jura, Jura

"A white I had not encountered for a while made its comeback in the 2016 Côtes du Jura Cuvée Oregane, a blend of Chardonnay and Savagnin from vines planted in 1963 and 1969 that often has an herbal, oregano-like nose (hence its name). This has a somewhat difficult nose with a touch of volatility, but the palate shows better and is nicely textured and balanced, with finesse and class. All these whites are ouillé, aged in topped-up barrels; so, in theory, they don't have flor, but one can imagine the cellars must be full of the veil yeasts..." 91-93 Points Luis Gutiérrez, The Wine Advocate

Recaredo Intens Rosat Gran Reserva Brut Nature 2014, 0.75L
Mourvèdre / Grenache from Alt Penedès, Catalunya

"I was very impressed with the 2014 Intens Rosat Brut Nature Gran Reserva, a truly Mediterranean wine with an intense color (it looks more like a light red), and for the first time, it doesn't have any Pinot Noir, which was ripped out in 2014. So, this is a blend of 86% Monastrell and 14% Garnacha, and ironically enough, now that it doesn't have any Pinot, the wine feels more Burgundian than ever! It's also more vinous with the texture of the bubbles, a wine that happens to have bubbles. It feels more austere than the previous vintages, something I like, and it has elegant rusticity with a pleasant bitterness in the finish." 92 Points Luis Gutiérrez, The Wine Advocate

Filipa Pato Bairrada Nossa Calcário 2018, 0.75L
Baga from Bairrada, Beiras

"The 2018 Nossa Calcário red is a Baga from old vines. It was aged for 18 months in second-use French oak and comes in at 12.2% alcohol. Elegant and seeming to show good concentration, at least in mouthfeel, this is a perfectly constructed Baga that is precise, impeccably balanced, understated and focused. Fresh, yet caressing on the palate, this lingers nicely and adds a slightly earthy touch on the finish—that's the Baga showing up for work. I'm not sure this 2018 fully equals some fine recent vintages, but it certainly is rather splendid. Time eventually will tell us who wins. This is very accessible. You can drink it now, although it will certainly reward you if you cellar it for a few years. It likely will hold for a couple of decades. There were 3,692 bottles and 135 magnums made." 93 Points Mark Squires, The Wine Advocate

Sky Vineyards Zinfandel Mount Veeder 2014, 0.75L
Zinfandel from Mt. Veeder, California

"The 2014 vintage of zinfandel from Lore Olds at Sky Vineyards is his forty-first harvest, as he purchased his parcel of volcanic red soil up above Mayacamas Vineyards on Mount Veeder all the way back in 1973, after having worked at Beaulieu Vineyards and Mayacamas. The wine comes in at an even fourteen percent and offers up an excellent, brambly young nose of raspberries, spiced meats, a bit of pepper, cloves, a touch of cumin, stony soil tones, bonfire and a bit of cedary oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and beautifully balanced, with a fine core of fruit, a firm chassis of chewy tannin, good mineral drive and a long, complex and gently peppery finish. This is going to be an excellent wine when it is ready to drink, but in proper Sky tradition, it will need a good decade to really start to stretch its wings. Stylistically, this is as old school as old school gets!" 93 Points John Gilman, View From the Cellar

Maison d'Amis Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford 2014, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon / Cabernet Franc from Rutherford, California

"The 2014 Rutherford cuvée of cabernet sauvignon from Michael Villa is composed entirely of cabernet this year and was raised in thirty percent new oak for twenty-two months prior to bottling. It is just a touch riper than the 2014 Napa Valley Cab, coming in at a still very civilized 13.6 percent alcohol. The classy nose wafts from the glass in a blend of red and black cherries, a touch of allspice, cigar smoke, Rutherford dust soil tones and a discreet framing of new oak. On the palate the wine is deep, pure and full-bodied, with a lovely core, excellent soil signature and grip, ripe, fine-grained tannins and a long, nascently complex and perfectly balanced finish. This could be a great old vintage of BV Reserve cabernet in its youth, if it had been raised in American oak, instead of French casks! Superb juice." 94 Points John Gilman, View From the Cellar

Antoine Bouvet Blanc de Blancs Extra-Brut 2016, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Villers Marmery, Champagne

" Only 102 Bottles in the U.S.

In 1970 Guy Bouvet, Antoine’s grandfather launched his domaine in Mareuil sur Ay and ran it largely by himself, with most of the 5 hectares being sold to Bollinger. Guy worked with a small holding of vineyards spread across three villages (Mareuil sur Ay, Avenay val d’Or and Bisseuil). From an early age, Antoine took a budding interest in the family business. He learned from his grandfather the joy of hard work, caring for the land, and the precision of cellar work so very necessary to make great Champagne. Antoine’s love for his grandfather can be seen in the homage to him on the label of his Champagnes.

Antoine attended the Viticampus in Avize and started working with his grandfather in 2011 and in 2013 he took over complete operations of the domaine, where he has worked solely with oak and began the use of biodynamic practices. With working with his grandfather in the first couple of years, it has been a transition to organic vineyard practices and in 2012 and 2014 both were planted on 40% organic vineyards, while 2020, and going forward all vineyards are farmed 100% organic and biodynamic throughout."

Domaine Du Nozay Sancerre Château du Nozay 2018, 0.75L
Sauvignon Blanc from Sancerre, Loire

"Cyril produces a separate cuvee from the estate’s oldest and best-exposed vines closest to the chateau itself. As of 2016, the vines for the “Chateau du Nozay” are 45 years old, and while the wine possesses the same almost Chablis-like carriage as the “Domaine” bottling above, the intensity and depth are noticeably ratcheted up here. While it’s still lean and punchy, the vines’ diet of more sun and deeper subsoils reveals itself in a glimmer of glycerol succulence on the mid-palate and a rounder, longer finish. A certain density that still avoids any sense of heaviness suggests the possibility of interesting cellar development, and for those inclined to allow the Sauvignon’s youthful exuberance to subside and let the limestone shine through, this will prove a very rewarding purchase. The production here is barely five percent of that of the “Domaine” Sancerre, so available quantities are scant" Importer Notes, Rosenthal Wine Merchant

It's a pleasure-bent red that will offer a broad drinking window. I recently had occasion to taste the 1990 rendition, and it is still showing beautifully, which gives some sense of how well this cuvée can age." William Kelley, The Wine Advocate

Von Winning Riesling Sekt Extra-Brut NV, 0.75L
Riesling from Pfalz, Pfalz

"I’ve never had much luck with German sparkling wines, often finding them overly tart and acidic. But Anne Krebiehl, author of “The Wines of Germany,” an excellent book published in 2019, believes the category has great potential, especially those sparklers made of riesling, like this one. Von Winning often ferments its wines in small oak barrels, unusual with riesling, and it wouldn’t surprise me if barrels were used for this sparkler. It’s toasty, creamy and substantial, yet dry, refreshing and balanced." Eric Asimov, New York Times

Jean Foillard Morgon Cuvée Corcelette 2018, 0.75L
Gamay from Morgon, Beaujolais

"Foillard’s Morgons represent brilliantly crafted expressions of Beaujolais’ grandest terroirs. Technical details (available on our site) cannot adequately communicate this wine’s raison d’être—instead, consider a typical evening chez Foillard: Guests gather. Corks pop. Charcuterie emerges. Stories are told. Laughter rings out. Old vintages turn up. More corks are pulled. More food. Moderation takes a back seat. More laughter. Cheese. Sleep. And that’s what this Morgon—beyond its sweet, earthy fruit and sensuous, velvety texture—is all about." Importer Notes, Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant

Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs Brut 2008, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Champagne, Champagne

"A slightly more luxurious nature to the 2008 than the great 2007. Full-bodied with a lovely framework of acidity and dry fruit, such as apples, pears and peaches. Opulent. Dense and muscular. Yet, it’s balanced and harmonious. Line of acidity at the end. One for the cellar." 99 Points James Suckling

Taittinger’s 2008 Blanc de Blancs Comtes de Champagne is simply breathtaking. I have tasted it many times over the years in various trial disgorgements and it has never been anything less than compelling. The final, finished wine captures all of that potential. Bright, focused and wonderfully deep, Comtes is a fabulous example of a vintage that expresses so much energy but with real fruit intensity, the signatures that distinguish it from other vintages (1996 comes to mind) that were similarly taut, but more austere in the early going. Although the 2008 impresses right out of the gate, it only really starts to open up with several hours of air. The 2008 Comtes represents the purest essence of the Côtes des Blancs in a great, historic vintage. Readers who can find the 2008 should not hesitate, as it is a truly brilliant epic Champagne that no one who loves the very best in Champagne will want to be without. 98+ Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Les Cruzelles 2018, 0.75L
Merlot / Cabernet Franc from Lalande de Pomerol, Bordeaux

"The 2018 Les Cruzelles comes from gravelly-clayey soil, the Merlot picked September 18-25 and the Cabernet Franc on September 28, and is raised in 40% new oak. It has a more opulent, higher-toned bouquet compared to the La Chenade, offering expressive blueberry and black currant fruit and becoming more floral in the glass as iris and violet emerge. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent tannins that provide real weight and concentration to this outstanding Lalande de Pomerol. Edmond Vatan Sancerre Clos la Néore 2016, 1.5L
Sauvignon Blanc from Sancerre, Loire

"It is hard to believe how long I have been drinking and cellaring the wines from Edmond Vatan, as the first vintage I ever sold of his wine was the 1988 all the way back in late 1980s. I should have cellared some then, as I am sure the ’88 is still drinking brilliantly today! However, it took me a decade or so to get my act together and cellar my Vatan for the long haul, so the oldest bottle I have left in my cellar is from the 1997 vintage. . .Monsieur Vatan was born in 1929 and turns ninety-one this year, but continues to cruise along in good health. Cruse Wine Co. Blanc de Noirs Alder Springs Vineyard Brut 2017, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Mendocino County, California

"A somewhat experimental wine meant to play with the line between oxidative and reductive and to use different techniques to explore terroir. The fruit is pressed whole cluster using a traditional Champagne cycle. However only the couer de cuvée is used.

It is then disgorged and bottled without dosage of any kind. This oxidative style is meant to bring out the minerality of the site. The nose is heavy with marzipan and berry fruit with aromas of pastry and a hint of miso. Extremely complex with pistachio gelato and floral notes also making an appearance." Dupont-Fahn Bourgogne Blanc Chaumes des Perrières 2018, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Bourgogne, Burgundy

"Bourgogne “Chaumes des Perrières” has an interesting history, as up until the late-1970s, this lieu à dit above the premier cru of Perrières in Meursault was entitled to Meursault villages status. Raymond Dupont-Fahn’s grandfather, Michel, had bought a parcel here in 1975 and petitioned the INAO to add twenty centimeters of top soil to his unplanted parcel, as the topsoil was so thin that he feared new plantings here would wither and die. The INAO agreed, but the other growers in Meursault were upset and petitioned to have the parcel declassified to Bourgogne from Meursault AC, which they were also successful in doing. So these vines, which sit fifty meters above the Perrières vines of Domaine Coche-Dury are only ranked as Bourgogne!" John Gilman, View From The Cellar

"The 2016 Gattinara Vigna Valferana is every bit as impressive from bottle as it was from cask. Rich and resonant, the 2016 is so supremely beautiful as it opens up in the glass. Nervi-Conterno Gattinara Vigna Molsino 2016, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Gattinara, Piedmont

"Tasted next to the Valferana, the 2016 Gattinara Vigna Molsino is much more nervous in feel. Iron, dried herbs, sweet dried cherry, mint, crushed rocks, white pepper and earthy notes give the Molsino a good deal of aromatic complexity to match its intense, saline-infused minerality. Today, though, the tannins and acids are almost overpowering. Readers will find an old-school, classically austere Gattinara that needs 10-15 years to be at its best. The 2016 is an absolute jewel of a wine, but it should be purchased only by readers with either very good genes are a ton of optimism regarding their own longevity." 96+ Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Nervi-Conterno Gattinara 2017, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Gattinara, Piedmont

"The 2017 Gattinara is terrific. It will also give readers something to drink without waiting decades. In 2017, the Gattinara is a bit richer than it often is - the result of the warm dry year – but its profile is super-classic. Sweet pipe tobacco, mint, dried herbs, licorice, dried cherry and Alpine herbs fill out its ample frame effortlessly. I would give the 2017 a few years in bottle, but it won’t need more than that to start drinking well. In 2017, Roberto Conterno did not bottle his vineyard-designates. Instead, all the best lots went into the straight Gattinara, an overachieving wine that delivers the goods. I don’t expect the 2017 will be among the most long-lived wines here, but that will hardly be an issue for most readers." 94 Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Sandlands Red Table Wine Contra Costa County 2018, 0.75L
Carignan / Mourvèdre from Contra Costa County, California

"The 2018 Red Table Wine (Contra Costa County) is 55% Carignane and 45% Mataro. Sweet red cherry, red plum, violet and spice are front and center in this racy, exuberant red. Time in the glass brings out darker tonalities along with hints of game, smoke, charcoal embers and licorice that are highly suggestive of Mataro. Savory, bold and full of character, the 2018 has so much to offer. I would cellar it for a few years to see what happens." 93+ Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Dautel Spätburgunder 2018, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Württemberg, Württemberg

"The 2018 Spätburgunder trocken displays a dark cherry color and opens with a pure and refreshing, yet still reductive bouquet of blackcurrant, cherries, cassis, underwood, toast and iodine. Bottled with 13% alcohol this is a very charming, light-footed and refreshing Pinot with a silky-texture, stimulating acidity and phenolic grip. The wine is fine and intense, always fresh and tight on the finish, representing a great vintage for Pinot Noir—the finish is pure, long and intensely fruity yet without sweetness or any masking oaky, toasty notes. This is simply an impressive Pinot in the entry-level price class. Tasted from AP 31 19 in June 2020." 91 Points Stephan Reinhardt, The Wine Advocate

Cantina Terlano Cuvée Terlaner 2019, 0.75L
Pinot Blanc / Chardonnay / Sauvignon Blanc from Alto Adige Terlano, Trentino Alto Adige Südtirol

"The lovely 2019 Alto Adige Terlaner Cuvée is fresh and buoyant with citrusy notes that are followed by wild sage, crushed stone, spicy saffron, toasted pine nut, Golden Delicious apple and crispy pear. The cuvée is a blend of 60% Pinot Bianco, 30% Chardonnay and 10% Sauvignon Blanc, and the results are only partially aged in oak (about 20%) to add a little extra dimension and texture. The wine underlines its primary fruit and the youthful intensity that is achieved with the 2019 vintage. Salty mineral notes appear on the close. An ample 220,000 bottles were produced, and you get terrific value here." 92+ Points Monica Larner, The Wine Advocate

"I like the minerality and spiciness of this blend of pinot bianco, chardonnay and sauvignon blanc with a medium to full body, creamy texture and lots of flavor at the finish. Domaine Testut Chablis Côte de Bréchain 2018, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Chablis, Burgundy

"Cyril Testut is a new grower to me in Chablis, but I was very impressed with the few examples of his wines that I was able to taste for this article. His 2018 villages level wines of Côte de Bréchain hails from fifty year-old vines. This lieu á dit is beautifully-situated, lying on the same ridge as Montée de Tonnerre, just to the east of and looking across the very narrow valley at Blanchot. The wine is excellent, with lovely tension on the palate for the 2018 vintage. The bouquet wafts from the glass in a blend of apple, wet stone minerality, straw, citrus peel and a touch of beeswax in the upper register. On the palate the wine is crisp, full-bodied and focused, with fine mineral undertow, a good core of fruit and excellent balance and grip on the long and zesty finish. This is still a puppy and could use a few more years in the cellar to allow its secondary layers of complexity emerge. First class AC!." 90 Points John Gilman, View from the Cellar

Jean et Sébastien Dauvissat Chablis Vaillons Vieilles Vignes 2016, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Chablis, Burgundy

"Very pale lemon-yellow color. Reticent but pure scents of minerals and lemon oil. Then seriously rich and fat in the mouth, but with more acidity and structure than the basic Vaillons cuvée. This large-scaled premier cru, from a crop level of just 25 hectoliters per hectare, shows terrific citrus and mineral firmness but it's also plush and sweet and not at all hard. I was surprised when Dauvissat told me it weighs in at 14% alcohol, as it boasts plenty of buffering material. La Torre Brunello di Montalcino 2015, 0.75L
Sangiovese from Brunello di Montalcino, Tuscany

"If you love the traditional side of Montalcino, Luigi Ananìa's La Torre makes some of the best and most consistent wines you will find. Their 2015 Brunello di Montalcino reveals a quality of fruit that is both plump and succulent, and this is very much a characteristic of the 2015 vintage. However, the house style is extremely precise and focused. It starts off slowly, revealing itself in small steps before coming into full bloom. The wide aromatic span of the wine should become even more prominent with three or four more years of cellar age. This wine does a nice job of matching the acidity of Sangiovese to the generous fruit of the warm 2015 vintage. Some 13,000 bottles will be released in March 2020." 95+ Points Monica Larner, The Wine Advocate

Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2018, 0.75L

"Another in a string of top vintages, Beaucastel's 2018 Chateauneuf du Pape was produced from Grenache yields of only eight hectoliters per hectare ("normal" is about 28 hectoliters per hectare, according to Marc Perrin). The final blend I was shown is almost candied in its fruity intensity of raspberries and cherries, yet it has a potent underpinning of more savory elements, like tapenade, grilled meat and dried spices. Full-bodied, with fine, silky tannins, this shows tremendous length, reverberating with hints of crushed stone on the finish." 95-97 Points Joe Czerwinski, The Wine Advocate

Chapelle Saint Theodoric Chateauneuf-du-Pape La Guigasse 2017, 0.75L
Grenache from Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Rhône

"More powerful than its Le Grand Pin stablemate, the 2017 Chateauneuf du Pape La Guigasse is made the same minimalistic way—100% whole-cluster Grenache from a single site, in this case a sandy parcel in the lieu-dit La Guigasse. Raised in demi-muids for two years or more, depending on the vintage, it has some meaty, charred notes that could be barrel-derived, but the overall oak impact is probably more textural than olfactory. Hints of rose petals, cherries and even orange zest join with darker toned notes of cola and dried spices in a whirl of complexity that's complemented by the wine's silky tannins. It's full-bodied but feels lighter, filling the mouth with its flavors while leaving the palate refreshed on the long finish." 96 Points Joe Czerwinski, The Wine Advocate

Doyard Oeil de Perdrix Rosé Extra Brut 2015, 0.75L
Pinot Noir / Chardonnay from Champagne, Champagne

"The 2015 Doyard Oiel de Perdrix Extra Brut Millésime is composed from a cépages of seventy-five percent pinot noir and twenty-five percent chardonnay, with the pinot noir hailing from Aÿ and the chardonnay from Avize. The vins clairs do not go through malolactic and are given some extended aging in old Burgundy casks prior to bottling up for secondary fermentation in September of 2016. The wine was aged thirty-six months sur latte and disgorged in September of 2019, with a finishing dosage of three grams per liter. It is quite pale in color and offers up a beautiful bouquet of white cherry, peach, rye bread, chalky soil tones, dried flowers, discreet spice tones and just a whisper of oak. Domaine de la Bastide Blanche Bandol Cuvée Estagnol 2015, 0.75L
Mourvèdre from Bandol, Provence

"The single vineyard bottling of Estagnol from the Bronzo family is made from fifty year old vines, with the cépages of this bottling being ninety-two percent mourvèdre and eight percent grenache. The soils here are limestone and clay and the rows are planted east-west, which delays ripening a bit (and is certainly beneficial in this age of global warming). The wine is fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged in old foudre. The 2015 Estagnol delivers a fine aromatic constellation of sweet dark berries, cassis, roasted meats, a touch of pepper, bonfire, a fine base of soil and just a hint of garrigue in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, pure and full-bodied, with plenty of sappiness at the core, superb structure and grip, ripe tannins and a long, nascently complex and very promising finish. This wine is listed at 14.5 percent octane and carries its ripeness very well indeed, with only a hint of backend heat. It is a proper vin de garde and will demand plenty of cellaring time before it blossoms, but it will be excellent in due course." 93 Points John Gilman, View From the Cellar

It has a knockout bouquet for an entry-level Chenin, featuring beautiful orange blossom and apricot scents mixed with hints of lemon thyme. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity and impressive tension and energy. Poised all the way through to the finish, this is a superb Kloof Street Chenin Blanc that serves as a perfect introduction to Chris and Andrea Mullineux’s wines." 90 Points Neal Martin, Vinous

Domaine Charvin Côtes-du-Rhône Le Poutet 2018, 0.75L
Grenache / Mourvedre / Carignan / Syrah from Côtes du Rhône, Rhône

"I, unfortunately, wasn’t able to taste any Châteauneuf du Papes from Laurent Charvin, but his Côtes du Rhône showed beautifully. Mostly Grenache brought all in concrete, Laurent’s 2018 Côtes Du Rhône Le Poutet is a classic as they come, offering a beautiful bouquet of wild strawberries, peppery herbs, flowers, and rose petals. Beautifully balanced, medium-bodied, and elegant, it’s another terrific 2018 that knocks it out of the park on charm and accessibility, and in this cuvee’s case, complexity. It’s be thrilled to enjoy bottles anytime over the coming 7-8 years." 90 Points Jeb Dunnuck

Realm Cellars Proprietary Red The Bard 2018, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlot / Cabernet Franc / Petit Verdot from Napa Valley, California

"The 2018 The Bard is beautiful and certainly in the same realm as the 2015 and 2016, both magical wines. This cuvée reveals a deep purple color followed by a beautiful perfume of crème de cassis, blackberries, roasted coffee, spring flowers, and violets. With incredible richness, no hard edges, and a blockbuster finish, this incredible wine offers serious opulence with no sensation of heaviness or weight. It's beautifully done and already complex and nuanced. It will evolve for at least 15+ years. Domaine Rapet Bourgogne Rouge En Bully 2017, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Bourgogne, Burgundy

". . .The Bourgogne rouge is grown at an altitude of 350 meters on the slope facing les Hautes-Côtes on the locality named La Grande Corvée de Bully. The soil here is marly with a shallow top-layer.

Bully was an ancient property, no longer existing, which at the time belonged to Abbaye de Maizières. The term Bulliaco from 925, derived from "bubbles", refers to the existence of a gushing spring (Fontaine Bully) close by. La corvée, a term used under the feudal system, designates the days of work owed by the tenants to the monks of the Abbey." Producer Notes, Domaine Rapet

Exotic and beguiling, with striking aromatics and tons of lift, the Trousseau is just exquisite right out of the glass. Don’t be fooled by the pale color and somewhat fleeting feel; the 2019 has enough depth to drink well for a number of years. This should be long-lived, and it's the cuvée Rapet matured in barrel the longest. "La Migoua is made up of heterogeneous clay that varies in color between red, ochre, and blue. At 270 meters, it sits at the highest altitude of all the vineyards. The parcel’s complex sedimentation is largely due to the subduction of a tectonic plate which has surfaced the oldest rock outcroppings in the whole of the appellation. Surrounded by garrigue and pine forest, the grapes translate to earthy, gamey wines. Cruse Wine Co. St. Laurent Pétillant Naturel 2019, 0.75L
St. Laurent from Carneros, California

"The 2019 Sparkling St. Laurent Pétillant Naturel has a pale onion-skin color and minerally aromas of chalk over crushed red berries and toasty hints. In the mouth, it's characterized by creamy mousse and gentle, clean berry flavors, finishing with a kiss of sweetness. Since this is bottled partway through fermentation—to create the bubbles in bottle and maintain the desired sweetness—bottles of this will vary, but the pressure will be around four bars, a bit less energetic than the average sparkling wine, which contains about four to six bars of pressure. Cruse Wine Co. is now using a gyropalette instead of hand-riddling these bottles, so they will have a bit of a haziness instead of looking perfectly crystal clear. Gaël Petit Domaine Moulin la Viguerie Tavel La Combe des Rieu Rosé 2018, 0.75L
Grenache / Syrah / Clairette / Cinsault from Tavel, Rhône

"The first edition of this exciting project, “La Combe des Rieu” is a Tavel whose intensity, complexity, and decisive sense of terroir have more in common with the regal reds of Châteauneuf than with southern France’s sea of generic rosés. Behind the historic label lies a wine of class, depth, and substance, bearing a rich bouquet of wild strawberry, flowers, garrigue, and sweet spices, culminating in a long, stony finale. Domaine Tempier Bandol Rouge 2018, 0.75L
Mourvèdre / Grenache / Cinsault / Carignan from Bandol, Provence

"At Domaine Tempier grapes from our different vineyards are skillfully blended to create this wine, made up of between 70 and 75% Mourvedre (depending on the year) combined with Grenache, Cinsault and a hint (2%) of old Carignan. This fruity, well balanced wine can be enjoyed after 3 or 4 years, but develops extremely pleasant tertiary aromas (leather, animal and undergrowth) with further ageing. The wine’s balance gives it an ageing potential of 15 years or more.

The Cuvée Classique blend combines grapes from the estate’s different terroirs. In the area known as ‘Le Petit Moulin de la Cadière’, named after its windmill, the vines grow on south-facing terraces stretching out over hilly terrain. The soil in this part of the vineyard is characterised by the presence of fossilised seashells (85 million year old bivalve molluscs). Clay is found to varying depths throughout the estate’s soil and, although the clay is quite dense, alluvial layers comprised of silt-sand sediment deposits are also present. One might think these looser layers in the soil would have little influence on the wine, but in fact they provide excellent drainage which helps to produce very refined wines." Producer Notes, DomaineTempier.com

Anthill Farms Chardonnay Peugh Vineyard 2018, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Russian River Valley, California

"The 2018 Chardonnay Peugh comes from a vineyard originally planted in 1887 and grafted to Chardonnay in 1944. It was made with 20% new Austrian oak and has bright notions of petrichor, lime peel, green herbs and green pineapple with honeyed notes in the background. The palate is medium-bodied and satiny, swelling with savory flavors that are refreshed by mineral accents and lively acidity, and it finishes very long. The dynamic dichotomy of brightness and savory bass tones is compelling and provides a hint of what this may be like with another five years in bottle." 94+ points Erin Brooks, The Wine Advocate

La Vizcaina (Raúl Pérez) Bierzo Las Gundiñas 2018, 0.75L
Mencia from Bierzo, Castilla y León

"La Gundiñas is the wine that shows the most differences between 2017 and 2018, when the 2018 La Vizcaína Las Gundiñas feels like a mini-Bonnes Mares! This happened in 2013, and this 2018 is like a refined version. This vineyard was somewhat irregular in the past, but they bought it in 2018; now that they work the vineyard and have 100% control, it might be more regular. There have been ups and downs with this wine over the years, and this 2018 is clearly one of the ups. The other highlight was 2013. This wine is the palest of the 2018s. It's from a vineyard that perhaps has a bit more white Valenciana grapes. This is super elegant, a rara avis. Bravo! 5,500 bottles were filled in May 2020." 95 Points Luis Gutiérrez, The Wine Advocate

La Vizcaina (Raúl Pérez) Bierzo El Rapolao 2018, 0.75L
Mencia from Bierzo, Castilla y León

"There is a bit of an animal hint on the nose of the 2018 La Vizcaína El Rapolao, which Raúl Pérez tells me is always part of the character of the wine when it's young. The difference with the 2017 is the quality of the tannins, which rounder and more elegant here, and the concentration, which is lower here, so this 2018 comes through as more fluid, fresh and elegant, with a silkier mouthfeel. They finally bought the vineyard in 2018, and the change in viticulture resulted in lower yields: they produced 6,000 bottles of this 2018, compared with the 10,000 bottles of the 2017. They have bought three more plots for this bottling, so volumes will grow in the future. The initial sensation fades after the wine has been in bottle for one hour, and it makes sense that it's gong to disappear with some more time in bottle. Pérez thinks it might be related to the recent bottling. It was bottled in May 2020, a few weeks before I tasted it." 95+ Points Luis Gutiérrez, The Wine Advocate

Famille Brunier Vaucluse Le Pigeoulet 2018, 0.75L
Grenache / Syrah from Vaucluse, Provence

"A blend of mostly Grenache and Syrah (there are small amounts of other red varieties), the 2018 Vaucluse Le Pigeoulet offers a complex style in its kirsch, herbes de Provence, white pepper, and floral aromas and flavors. This beauty is sweetly fruited, with polished tannins, loads of charm, and a great finish. In the Brunier family since 1898, Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe lies on the eastern edge of Châteauneuf du Pape and covers 60 hectares of some of the finest terroir out there, the famed la Crau plateau. Looking at the winemaking, the estate has destemmed all their grapes since 1989 and the wines see all native ferments, with no temperature control, and aging all in older foudre. In addition, due to the recent completion of a new state of the art winery, the grapes are now moved only by gravity. While 2016 was an incredible vintage for this estate, they’ve produced brilliant wines in both 2017 and 2018. This is first-rate and highly recommended plus it is a Bourgogne that will age." Outstanding Top Value ♥

Chanin Syrah Schock Family Vineyard 2018, 0.75L
Syrah from Santa Barbara County, California

"This is a cooler-climate Syrah done with the light touch of a Pinot Noir master. The nose is extremely peppery, reminiscent of a tour through a Tellicherry peppercorn factory, yet with tart cranberry, rust and soil elements as well. The palate is immensely grippy with more white pepper as well as charcoal and brisk red-fruit flavors. It will also cellar very well." 95 Points Matt Kettmann, Wine Enthusiast

Walter Scott Pinot Noir Sojeau Vineyard 2018, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Eola-Amity Hills, Oregon

"Vivid ruby-red. Powerful red berry liqueur, potpourri, spicecake and incense aromas show outstanding clarity, and a smoky mineral nuance builds in the glass. Concentrated yet lively black raspberry, bitter cherry, mocha and floral pastille flavors turn sweeter as the wine opens up. Gains weight with air and finishes bright, gently tannic and extremely long, delivering resonating spice and floral notes. This vineyard was formerly called "Sojourner." 35% new oak." 94 Points Josh Raynolds, Vinous

Domaine Dujac Puligny-Montrachet Les Combettes 2018, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Puligny Montrachet, Burgundy

"The white wines can sometimes be overlooked at Domaine Dujac, such is the quality of the reds, but they shouldn't be. This comes from a parcel of 50 to 70-year-old vines that was picked very early on August 29th. Beautifully balanced between freshness and concentration, it has 15% new wood, notes of cinnamon and vanilla spice and racy, stony acidity." 94 Points TIm Atkin, Decanter

Domaine Dujac Charmes-Chambertin 2018, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Gevrey Chambertin, Burgundy

"The 2018 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru was also showing very well, offering up an expressive bouquet of ripe cherries, cassis, warm spices and rich soil tones. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, supple and textural, with a broad attack, good depth and energy at the core, powdery structuring tannins and a sapid finish." 93-95 Points William Kelley, The Wine Advocate

Domaine Dujac Chambolle-Musigny 2018, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Chambolle Musigny, Burgundy

"The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Village is also showing very well, exhibiting aromas of Griotte cherries, raspberries and blood orange, framed by a deft application of creamy new oak. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, succulent and youthfully structural, its ample chassis of surprisingly muscular but powdery tannin cloaked in succulent fruit. It's promising, but based on this showing, it will also require patience." 89-91 Points William Kelley, The Wine Advocate

Opus One 2017, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon / Petit Verdot / Cabernet Franc / Merlot / Malbec from Napa Valley, California

". . . a dense, full-throttle beauty. Plush fruit and soft, silky contours give the 2017 its racy personality. Exotic, beautifully perfumed and impeccable in its balance, Opus One is one of the most complete wines of the vintage. In 2017, Opus One has a distinctly red-toned fruit profile that distinguishes it from the surrounding vintages." 95+ Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Giuseppe Mascarello Langhe Nebbiolo 2018, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Langhe, Piedmont

". . .the wine is impressively pure and transparent on the nose, wafting from the glass in a mix of cherries, orange peel, gently autumnal soil tones, gamebird, bonfire and a gentle topnote of fresh oregano. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and beautifully transparent, with a sappy core of red fruit, impressive soil signature, ripe, suave tannins and a long, complex and classy finish. There is bit of backend heat here, but this may well be the first fifteen percent octane wine that I would have absolutely no difficulty drinking several glasses of with a meal. How the Mascarellos managed this I have no idea, but color me impressed! It is still a creature of its vintage, but this is lovely wine." 90 Points John Gilman, View From the Cellar

Roland Lavantureux Chablis Vauprin 2018, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Chablis, Burgundy

"he 2018 Chablis Vauprin comes from 1.7ha of 25-year-old vines and is raised for 12 months in 50% oak barrels and 50% stainless steel. It has a very harmonious bouquet of yellow flowers, mirabelle, crushed rocks and light hazelnut aromas that attain impressive intensity with aeration. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity; there is real tension and race here. The finish fans out wonderfully and its persistence deserves applause considering the relatively unknown location of this vineyard. Highly recommended." 93 Points Neal Martin, Vinous

Scar of the Sea Chardonnay Rancho Tepusquet 2018, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Santa Maria Valley, California

"From own-rooted vines planted in 1973, this bottling offers aromas of Asian pear, strong chalk, jicama and soft butter. The palate is incredibly crisp, clean chalky and tense, with tightly wound flavors of lime pith, talc, more jicama and loads of white-fleshed fruits." 95 Points Matt Kettmann, Wine Enthusiast

Chartogne-Taillet Les Couarres Extra-Brut 2015, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Merfy, Champagne

"The 2015 Les Couarres (Pinot Noir), is ample, creamy and wonderfully expressive. The natural breadth of Pinot comes through beautifully. Vinification in oak brings out striking vinous intensity in the red plum, spice, leather and crushed flower flavors. Although the 2015 has plenty of depth to age, it is incredibly appealing now. Dosage is 6 grams per liter. Disgorged: June, 2020." 93 Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Pierre Girardin Pommard 2018, 0.75L

Domaine Servin Chablis Les Pargues 2018, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Chablis, Burgundy

"The 2018 Chablis Les Pargues is a very pretty, exotic wine. Sweet floral notes, passion fruit, mint and lemon confit give the 2018 a decidedly exotic flair to play off its airy, lifted personality. Apricot, mint and light tropical notes add character to this very pretty, expressive Chablis that is a bit tight on the finish but will open up nicely with time." 90 Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Louis Michel Chablis Montée de Tonnerre 2018, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Chablis, Burgundy

"Not surprisingly, the 2018 Montée de Tonnerre is one of the more structured premier crus in the cellars this year and it will want some bottle age to start to stir. The potential here is excellent, with the very pure and precise nose offering up scents of green apple, smoke, flinty minerality, citrus zest, spring flowers and a hint of the beeswax to come with bottle age. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and nascently complex, with an excellent core of fruit, fine transparency and grip, snappy acids and a long, soil-driven and vibrant finish. This is a first class example." 94 Points John Gilman, View from the Cellar

Arnot-Roberts Syrah Clary Ranch 2017, 0.75L
Syrah from Sonoma Coast, California

"The 2017 Syrah Clary Ranch is striking. Deep and resonant on the palate, the 2017 has so much to say. Some of the angular edges and intense savoriness the Clary Ranch can show have been soften by the intense heat of the year. Silky, fine tannins wrap around a core of dark cherry, plum, lavender, spice and pepper. A Syrah of power and structural intensity, the Clary Ranch is incredibly distinctive, and that is in a lineup in which many of the wines are exceptional. Two thousand-seventeen is a superb vintage for the Clary Ranch Syrah." 96 Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Bachelet-Monnot Saint-Aubin En Remilly 2018, 0.75L
Chardonnay from St. Aubin, Burgundy

"The 2018 Saint-Aubin En Remilly 1er Cru requires a little coaxing from the glass, but is well worth the effort, revealing beautifully defined malic aromas, mixed with wet limestone and fumé scents that blossom after a couple of minutes. The palate is extremely well balanced with a fine bead of acidity that cuts through the green apple and fresh pear notes. Quite linear and taut, it reveals fine depth toward the finish, though it needs just a tad more persistence on the aftertaste. This should evolve into a top-rank En Remilly." 91-93 Neal Martin, Vinous
