Carlmagnus 2014, 0.75L
Merlot / Cabernet Franc from Fronsac, Bordeaux

ON SALE! Original Price: $15.99

“The Château Carlmagnus 2014 definitely has one of the best set of aromatics that I encountered from Fronsac. Tasted alongside La Dauphine there is more freshness and delineation without compensating on fruit intensity. The palate is clean and fresh with great acidity, energetic and citrus fresh with a firm grip on the finish. What a superb wine for the vintage. Chapeau!” Wine Advocate 90-92 Points

“Vivid and fresh red with plum and currant character. Some spices, too. Medium to full body, firm and silky tannins and a long finish. Pretty tangy acidity undernearth.” James Suckling 90 Points

“This has a ripe, fleshy feel, with warm plum paste and cassis notes gliding along atop juniper and tobacco accents. The solid grip through the finish has a light brambly feel but is easily absorbed by the fruit.” Wine Spectator 90 Points

Comtesse de Chérisey Puligny-Montrachet Hameau de Blagny 2015, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Puligny-Montrachet, Burgundy

"The 2015 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Hameau de Blagny was too reduced on the nose for me to read this barrel sample. The palate is much more indicative of where this wine is going to go: tensile from the start, steely with vibrant acidity. This demonstrates fine weight in the mouth, a keen line of acidity, a dash of spice on the tight-wound finish that will clearly require 4-5 years to really find its groove, which it will." 90-92 Points Wine Advocate

Domaine Vessigaud Pouilly-Fuissé Vers Agineres 2014, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Pouilly-Fuissé, Burgundy

“More restrained on the nose than the Vers Pouilly but very ripe and deep, offering complex scents of soft citrus fruits, peach pit and flesh, nuts, menthol, white pepper and minerals. Large-scaled, plush and deep but with lovely minerality and well-integrated acidity enabling the wine to maintain its balance. Still holding plenty in reserve, this big boy will need time in bottle to absorb its baby fat and alcohol. Makes the Vers Pouilly seem almost tart by comparison. I like this wine's combination of sucrosité and underlying structure.” Vinous 90-92 Points

Marc Roy Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Prieur 2016, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Gevrey-Chambertin, Burgundy

"The 2016 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos Prieur has a clean and fresh raspberry and cranberry leaf-scented bouquet, delicate at first but gaining intensity with time. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, crisp red berry fruit, nicely poised and so easygoing on the finish you could drink it now! Very fine." Wine Advocate 90-92 Points

Domaine Les Grand Bois Cairanne Cuvée Maximilien 2015, 0.75L
Grenache / Mourvèdre / Syrah from Côtes du Rhône Villages, Rhône

“…The 2015 Cairanne Cuvee Maximilien is a blend of 50% Grenache, 35% Mourvèdre and the rest Syrah that’s brought up in concrete and stainless steel. This charming, forward, hedonistic effort excels on all accounts and has lots of cassis and blackberry fruits intermixed with green herbs, lavender and flower nuances. It has light tannin, tons of character and will drink nicely right out of the gate.” Wine Advocate 90-92 Points

Domaine du Gour de Chaulé Gigondas Cuvée Tradition 2015, 0.75L
Grenache from Gigondas, Rhône

"Still in foudres and concrete, the 2015 Gigondas Cuvee Tradition is incredibly creamy, ripe and fresh. This full-bodied wine is bursting with ripe Grenache fruit, while the finish displays plush tannins. It's not hugely complex—or maybe the fruit is just covering some of that complexity right now—but it sure is delicious." 90-92 Points Wine Advocate

François Villard Saint-Jospeh Poivre et Sol 2015, 0.75L
Syrah from St. Joseph, Rhône

"made with 40 percent whole clusters and aged in neutral barriques for 15 months) Youthful violet. Smoke- and spice-accented aromas of dark berries and violet, accompanied by a hint of licorice in the background. Fleshy and broad on the palate, offering ripe black and blue fruit flavors, a suggestion of cracked pepper and repeating smokiness. Turns livelier on the persistent, spice-tinged finish, which is given shape by supple tannins." 90-92 Points Vinous

Monteillet Saint-Joseph 2015, 0.75L
Syrah from St. Joseph, Rhône

“Bright violet. Spice-accented aromas of dark fruit preserves, licorice and olive, joined by a mineral nuance that builds in the glass. Sweet cassis, boysenberry and floral pastille flavors show good depth and become smokier and spicier with air. Rich and fleshy but possesses nice energy thanks to a spine of smoky minerality. The sappy, clinging finish features building tannins and a lingering licorice nuance.” Vinous 90-92 Points

Yves Cuilleron Saint-Joseph Les Pierres Sèches 2015, 0.75L
Syrah from St. Joseph, Rhône

“Deep ruby. Smoke- and spice-tinged blackberry and dried cherry aromas are enlivened by a suave floral topnote. Nicely concentrated cassis, bitter cherry and spicecake flavors are complemented by a touch of succulent herbs and a building floral pastille note. Finishes chewy and long, with dusty tannins coming in late to add shape and grip.” Vinous 90-92 Points

Daou Cabernet Sauvignon Paso Robles 2017, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon from Paso Robles, California

"Tasted from barrel, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon is very promising, revealing a youthfully primary bouquet of currants and plums that's already integrated its new oak. On the palate, it's full-bodied, richly structured and generous, with a sun-kissed core of fruit and a dry, fine-grained finish. A cuvée that includes purchased fruit, this is typically a great value. I'm looking forward to seeing it from bottle." 90-92 Points Wine Advocate
