Altos Las Hormigas Malbec Reserve 2020, 0.75L
Malbec from Valle de Uco, Mendoza

"The 2020 Malbec Reserve was produced from vines on limestone soils in Gualtallary (80%) and Altamira (20%) with concentration and elegance. It has 13.8% alcohol and keeps very good freshness and balance. It fermented with natural yeasts, and 75% of the volume matured in oak foudre for 18 months and the rest in raw concrete. They have had the courage to go for their own style, and this wine reflects that, but perhaps it's the most classical of their bottlings. It has ripeness without excess and varietal aromas of violet, iron and blood with an earthy touch and the chalky minerality in the texture. 2020 was a warm and dry vintage, and the wine manages to keep the poise and has the complexity of the noble origin but without the agility of the wines from 2019. 40,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in May 2022." 93 Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate, Nov 2022

Bodegas Aleanna El Enemigo Malbec 2018, 0.75L
Malbec from Mendoza, Mendoza

"The 2018 Malbec has some 8% Cabernet Franc in the blend, and it has only 13.5% alcohol while retaining very good acidity. The grapes were sourced from Gualtallary and were co-fermented. It's a serious, subtle and mineral Malbec, with some austerity and shy varietal aromas of violets and wild herbs. The palate is medium-bodied with terrific texture and very clean and focused flavors, and it has the chalky texture from the limestone-rich soils. 28,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in July 2019 after 12 months in ancient oak foudres." 93 Points, Luis Guiterrez, Wine Advocate

By Farr Chardonnay Irrewarra 2019, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Geelong, Victoria

"A rich and ripe expression of chardonnay that offers lemon, lime and peach aromas, as well as savory nougat and toasted-nut complexity. The palate is fused tight, with intense acidity that is so well integrated into the structure. Impressive line and length. Lots to like here. Drink over the next five years." 93 Points James Suckling

Weingut Neumeister Sauvignon Blanc Ried Moarfeitl 2020, 0.75L
Sauvignon Blanc from Vulkanland Steiermark, Straden

"Neumeister's 2020 Sauvignon Blanc Ried Moarfeitl GSTK offers a clear, complex and dense nose with fine soil spice and lots of iodine. Delicate on the palate, yet with substance and plenty of salt—most of all in the finish—this is a remarkably purist and fresh Moarfeitl with personality and a lot of finesse and elegance but also complexity. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in Grafenegg in September 2022." 93 Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate

Bernhard Ott Gruner Veltliner Ried Rosenberg 2017, 0.75L
Gruner Veltliner from Wagram, Wagram

"From 60-year-old vines picked on September 29, Ott's Feuersbrunner 2017 Grüner Veltliner Ried Rosenberg 1ÖTW is super clear, precise and fresh on the nose where tropical and stone fruit aromas such as apricots, white peaches, nectarines, papayas and mangos are displayed. Full-bodied, lush and round with very fine acidity and good structure, this is a densely woven, fleshy, super elegant, persistent and very powerful Veltliner with an impressive but slightly massive finish. Super sexy but I tend to prefer the Spiegel from the 2017 vintage. Tasted at Schloss Grafenegg and three weeks later in Vienna, both September 2018." 93 Points, Stephen Reinhardt, Wine Advocate

Antoine Sunier Morgon 2020, 0.75L
Gamay from Morgon, Beaujolais

"Deep violet. Primary, mineral-tinged cherry, black raspberry and violet aromas take on a spicy nuance with air. Offers densely packed yet lively dark berry, cherry preserve and spicecake flavors and a touch of cola. Betrays no rough edges and shows excellent clarity on a strikingly long, subtly tannic finish that emphatically echoes the floral and mineral notes." 93 Josh Raynolds, Vinous

"Antoine Sunier’s Morgon hails from two lieux à dits, les Grands Cras and Croix de Chèvres, with all of the vines in excess of sixty years of age. The wine is fermented in cement vats with carbonic maceration and then racked off to old Burgundy casks for elevage. The 2020 Morgon is a beautiful wine in the making, delivering a superb aromatic constellation of black cherries, sweet dark berries, pomegranate, fresh thyme, dark soil tones, coffee bean and a topnote of bonfire. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, sappy and soil-driven, with a beautiful core of fruit, ripe, seamless tannins, lovely focus and grip and a long, beautifully balanced and complex finish. This is outstanding juice in the making." 93 John Gilman

Domaine Lafarge-Vial Fleurie Clos Vernay 2016, 0.75L
Gamay from Fleurie, Beaujolais

"The 2016 Fleurie Clos Vernay wafts from the glass with a nuanced bouquet of raspberries, wild plums, dark chocolate and loamy soil. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, tangy and quite concentrated, framed by elegantly fine-grained tannins that nevertheless suggest this is a wine that will go the distance, much like the family's Volnays." 93 Points, William Kelley, Wine Advocate

"A markedly more complex if not more elegant combination offers up notes of both red and dark raspberry that are cut with hints of earth and pepper. There is more volume and intensity to the concentrated and serious medium-bodied flavors that terminate in a mildly austere finish that is notably longer. This is excellent and well-worth considering." 92 Points, Allen Meadows, Burghound

Jean Foillard Morgon Côte du Py 2021, 0.75L
Gamay from Morgon, Beaujolais

“The 2021 Morgon Côte du Py, matured in used barrels, has a more complex bouquet than the Corcelette: a melange of red and black fruit, potpourri/lavender, and a faint hint of curry leaf that emerges with time. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins and a fine backbone considering the growing season. This is very fresh and saline with quite a strict finish. You could attempt this now though I would be intrigued to age this for another two or three years before broaching. One of the original ‘Gang of Four’ disciples, Foillard is rightly esteemed as one of the leading Beaujolais producers, which is not reflected in market prices. Few wines represent better value than this. I have visited the Domaine several times over the years. On this occasion, I met with Fanny Bellenger, who works with Jean’s son Alex Foillard, to taste recent releases and take a quick tour of the winery. Unfortunately, due to the growing season in 2021, volumes are down 30%. The two 2020s I tasted from Alex Foillard are promising, especially the Brouilly that, when juxtaposing the two appellations, has more harmony and complexity than the Côte de Brouilly. The standout from Jean Foillard is the Morgon Côte du Py, though readers should not overlook the Fleurie despite the vines suffering grillure in recent years.” 93 Neal Martin, Vinous.com, Mar 2023

Anseillan du Château Lafite Rothschild 2018, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlot / Petit Verdot from Pauillac, Bordeaux

"Fresh and bright with dried flowers, such as lavender and violets, with some black berries and currants. Medium body, fine tannins, with a nice and lightly bitter lemon and cedar aftertaste .... New third wine from Lafite from a special parcel just east of the Château." 93 James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com

"Full bottle 1,299 g. 48% Merlot, 39% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Petit Verdot from a parcel north of Ch Clerc Milon. Aged 16–18 months in barriques. Deep, lustrous crimson. Intense nose and lively palate with real drive and light saline touch. Some background tannin but really rather gorgeous already (late 2022). Throbs with vitality. Not a bad copy of a Ch Lafite from a good vintage!" Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com

Anseillan du Château Lafite Rothschild 2019, 0.75L
Merlot / Cabernet Sauvignon from Pauillac, Bordeaux

"Dark chocolate and floral notes on the nose. This has an appealing density on the palate, lovely weight, with a sculpted feel to the softly chewy tannins and dark fruit. Less immediately lively, bright and accessible than the 2018 but still stylish with a sense of character. Cool blue fruits meld with mint, liquorice, flint and touches of toast. A blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged in ex-Lafite barrels as well as stainless steel and cement vats. (Drink between 2024-2032)" 93 Georgina Hindle, Decanter

La Chenade Lalande de Pomerol 2020, 0.75L
Merlot / Cabernet Franc from Lalande de Pomerol, Bordeaux

"Aromas of orange peel, black berries, flint and spice follow through to a medium to full body, with firm and racy tannins and a pretty finish. Drink or hold." 93 James Suckling

"Made from Merlot grapes picked between the 9th and the 15th of September and Cabernet Franc grapes picked on the 16th of September, the 2020 La Chenade expresses a vibrant and elegant bouquet with aromas of dark berries, violet, rose, dark cherries and graphite. Medium to full-bodied, it’s a juicy and elegant wine with a fleshy core of fruit and a fresh finish. As usual, this estate has produced excellent red wine from sandy-gravel soils." 92+ Yohan Castaing, Wine Advocate

"The 2020 La Chenade was very promising when I originally tasted it from barrel. In bottle since May, it has developed a lovely nose with melted red berry fruit, wild mint and light fennel scents. Nicely delineated and focused. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins. Extremely pure, very harmonious, this Lalande-de-Pomerol discretely crescendos towards its very satisfying, quite structured finish. Superb." 92 Neal Martin, Vinous

Poujeaux 2018, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlot / Petit Verdot from Moulis-en-Médoc, Bordeaux

"The austerity of the tannins is accentuated at this point after ageing, but backed up by richly layered cassis fruits and a brilliant swish of Médoc eucalyptus. This is going to power through the next decade, and is one to watch out for. (Drink between 2024-2038)" 93 Jane Anson, Decanter

"The 2018 Poujeaux has an intense bouquet featuring layers of blackberry and bilberry fruit, a light marine scent and a lingering a patina of oak that still needs time to be subsumed. The palate is medium-bodied with a sweet entry, plush and very pliant tannins framing a Poujeaux of impressive volume and grip. Cohesive from start to finish, it shuts down a little on the finish, indicating that this Moulis has long-term plans. (Drink between 2023-2045)" 92 Neal Martin, Vinous.com

Bouchard Père & Fils Meursault Les Perrieres 2018, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Meursault, Burgundy

"The 2018 Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrières is showing very nicely from bottle, offering up a youthful but already expressive bouquet of citrus oil, pear, blanched almonds, pastry cream and white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, racy and incisive, it's elegantly textural, with fine concentration, tangy acids, and a precise, mineral finish. While this Perrières is already deceptively charming, if it gains in depth and complexity with bottle age as much as I suspect it will, this score may seem conservative." 93 William Kelley, Wine Advocate

Bret Brothers La Soufrandière Pouilly Fuisse En Chatenay 2021, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Pouilly Fuissé, Burgundy

"This impressive wine boasts lovely aromas of lemon peel and mineral with a floral edge. The body is lively and fresh, with bright acidity, medium body, and enough extract to drive a long finish. The grapes come from a 0.69-hectare parcel at the foot of the Roche de Vergisson. The old-vine Chardonnay was pressed directly without crushing and fermented in old oak casks, where it will stay for two full winters. No sulfur is used until bottling, and at that point, a de minimus 20 mg/litre is added.” 93 Charles Curtis MW, Decanter Magazine

Pinot Noir from Pommard, Burgundy

"The 2020 Pommard Les Chanlins 1er Cru offers brambly red berry fruit on the nose, well defined, maybe a little more refined compared to the Volnay. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, just a touch of liquorice. Very nicely refined with good matière on the finish, this is a very fine Pommard. Chavy-Chouet Meursault les Charmes 2020, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Meursault, Burgundy

"The 2020 Meursault Les Charmes 1er Cru perhaps does not deliver quite the same mineralité or energy as the Les Genevrieres on the nose, maybe a little timid at the moment. The palate is well balanced with a sapid entry, quite saline with hints of oyster shells and fruits de mer towards its composed and persistent finish. Very fine. (Drink between 2024-2040)"93 Points, Neal Martin, Vinous

"Moderately generous wood stops just short of fighting with the ripe aromas of pear and apple compote, citrus confit and white peach. The rich and relatively full-bodied flavors possess an abundance of dry extract that buffers the firm, palate coating and powerful finish. Some patience would be beneficial here as well as this is presently quite compact though not especially austere." 92 Points, Allen Meadows, Burghound

"The 2020 Saint-Aubin Les Murgers des Dents de Chiens 1er Cru has a pretty bouquet that opens with orange blossom, red apples, a touch of melted wax and jasmine, all beautifully defined. The palate is very poised on the entry, the 25% new oak lending a little weight and depth, hints of orange zest, apricot and quince towards the finish. Give this 2-4 years for the oak to assimilate - it’s a great Saint-Aubin. (Drink between 2025-2040)" 93 Points, Neal Martin, Vinous

Domaine de Villaine Bouzeron 2020, 0.75L

Gonet Medeville Blanc De Noirs Premier Cru NV, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Champagne, Champagne

". . . showing very well, offering up an appealing bouquet of crisp golden orchard fruit, honeycomb, warm biscuits and dried white flowers. On the palate, it's full-bodied, broad and vinous, with ripe but racy acids, good depth at the core and a delicate mousse. Concentrated and structured, another year on the cork will be rewarded by additional complexity, even though this is approachable now." 93 William Kelley, Wine Advocate

"Pale gold with a strong mousse. Intensely mineral nose displays Meyer lemon, lime, green apple, pungent herbs and chalky minerals. Clean and finely etched, with energetic citrus, anise and wet stone flavors underscored by honeysuckle and quinine. Domaine Marcoux Chateauneuf-du-Pape 2020, 0.75L
Grenache / Mourvedre / Syrah / Cinsault from Chateauneuf du Pape, Rhône

"Vibrant black cherries, mulberries, peppery herbs, and spice are just some of the nuances in the 2020 Châteauneuf Du Pape, an utterly classic Châteauneuf du Pape that's medium to full-bodied, has the vintage's seamless profile, ultra-fine tannins, and a great finish. This beautiful, quintessential effort can be enjoyed any time over the coming 15 years or more. The 2020 is a normal blend of 80% Grenache, 10% Mourvedre, 7% Syrah, and the rest Cinsault, brought up mostly in concrete tank, but with 20% in tronconique tanks and 5% in old barrels." 93, Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com

"A dark, bold style that features black currant, cassis and plum puree coursing alongside warm earth, black pepper, tobacco and steeped tea. Spicy tannins take hold on the finish, with a whiff of tar and smoke. Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah and Cinsault. Louis Barruol Côte Rôtie La Boisselee 2018, 0.75L
Syrah from Côte Rôtie, Rhône

“Sure, it has the violets and spice of great Côte Rôtie, but also a dense and delicious Syrah luxuriance you want to bite off and chew. After a recent tasting, I tried to order a few bottles from the estate for my personal cellar and was sadly denied. Very few bottles of this wine were made, and with demand so high, every last one has now shipped off to the USA. I envy all who can still find a few for the cellar!” Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant

"Fresh and focused, offering currant and steeped black cherry notes mixed with hints of alder, bay leaf and rosemary. This has everything knitting nicely through the finish, with a mineral edge lingering." 93 Wine Spectator

Domaine de la Mordoree Tavel La Reine des Bois 2022, 0.75L
Grenache / Syrah / Cinsault/ Clairette / from Tavel, Rhône

“A blend of 60% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Cinsault and 10% Clairette, the 2022 Tavel La Reine des Bois is a touch darker in hue than its stablemate, the La Dame Rousse, but it's still not among the darkest of Tavels in the glass. That's perfectly okay, as the aromas and flavors are textbook for the appellation: crushed stone, flowering garrigue, ripe cherries and mouthwatering strawberries, all capped off by refreshing citrus-zest notes on the lengthy finish. Full-bodied and full-flavored, it's one of the candidates for top Tavel this year.” 93 Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate

"Orange zest, apricot and mint aromas are wrapped around the mineral core of this sleek, yet very well structured dry Saar riesling. Odinstal Riesling Vulkan 2018, 0.75L
Riesling from Pfalz, Pfalz

"The 2018 Riesling Vulkan opens with a pure, fresh and herbal, slightly flinty and still yeasty bouquet of crushed stones. Lush and round on the palate, this is a bone-dry, linear, fresh and elegant, very pure and grippy Riesling from Odinstal. The finish is salty, piquant and tight. A gorgeous wine that was bottled with no more than 29 milligrams per liter of total SO2. Tasted in Odinstal in December 2019." 93 Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate

Aldo Conterno Langhe Nebbiolo Il Favot 2020, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Langhe, Piedmont

"Mineral and savory nose with lots of crushed stones, iron, seaweed, spiced blood orange and cranberries. Structured and vertical on the palate but nothing fleshy here. It shows more mineral tension and tautness than fruit. A pure, long Nebbiolo Langhe that gives clarity and precision. Already very drinkable now, but can hold as well." 93 JamesSuckling.com

Antichi Vigneti di Cantalupo Ghemme Collis Breclemae 2015, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Ghemme, Piedmont

"The 2015 Ghemme Collis Breclemae is going to be gorgeous, but it needs time, as it is going through and adolescent phase at present. Brooding and somber, with quite a bit of complexity, the 2015 certainly has a ton to offer. Wild cherry, tobacco, spice, leather and cedar all build as this powerful, strapping Ghemme slowly opens. All the 2015 needs is cellaring to be at its most expressive. (Drink between 2025-2040)" 93 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous

E. Pira Chiara Boschis Langhe Nebbiolo 2021, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Langhe, Piedmont

"The 2021 Langhe Nebbiolo is fruit-forward with its aromas and is noted with ripe raspberry and a darker mineral profile. It also displays more richness in the palate as well as more structure, with comparatively broad shoulders, while retaining great purity. An outstanding red, it is deserving of holding and drinking 2024-2030. (Drink between 2024-2030)" 93 Audrey Frick, JebDunnuck.com

Produttori del Barbaresco Barbaresco 2018, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Barbaresco, Piedmont

“Packaged in its distinctive brown paper label, the Produttori del Barbaresco 2018 Barbaresco is a beautifully lean and luminous expression of Nebbiolo, and that pretty color should remain intact over time. The aromas are bold and ripe with dark and purple fruit, but the bouquet shows interesting twists with earth, truffle, licorice and grilled herb. As the wine opens in the glass, you begin to notice heavier aromas of raisin and dried apricot.”  93 Monica Larner, Wine Advocate

de Forville Barbaresco 2019, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Barbaresco, Piedmont

"This is the standard-bearer for the estate. The vines are planted exclusively within the confines of Barbaresco and are scattered among various 'crus', including Rabaja and Pozzo. The average age of the vines is 35 years. After harvest, the juice is fermented in stainless steel for approximately two weeks; then the wine is racked into large oak 'botti' to age at least 18 additional months and frequently longer before being bottled. This wine is emblematic of the work done at the De Forville estate: the wine is rigorously traditional, marrying the finesse of Barbaresco with the alluring aromas and flavors of truffle, earth, berries, rose, tar and leather and carrying, most important of all, a backbone of sweet, dusty tannins that give length and breed."  Importer Notes

Eduardo Torres Acosta IGT Rosso Arenaria 2019, 0.75L
Nerello Mascalese from Terre Siciliane, Sicily

"The 2019 Nerello Mascalese Arenaria lifts from the glass with a dazzling bouquet of incense, dried violets, spiced tangerine and cherry pits. This is silky-smooth and elegant, with depths of red berries laced with lavender under an air of blue and purple florals. Tannins slowly build, creating a structured finish; yet there’s a pleasant inner sweetness that lingers and keeps me looking back to the glass. The 2019 Arenaria is simply stunning, and to think that this is the first vintage. This is from a half-hectare, north-facing parcel, just outside of the Etna zone, on Mt. Portella at 700 meters. However, the soils aren’t volcanic, but instead sub-marine sandstone with clay and quartz. I can’t wait to see what a few years of cellaring will add to this already beautiful wine." 93 Eric Guido, Vinous

Isole e Olena Chianti Classico 2019, 0.75L
Sangiovese from Chianti Classico, Tuscany

"Perfumed nose of dried roses, wild mushrooms, sour cherries, raspberries, olives and spices. Medium-bodied with a firm yet supple tannin frame and a creamy core of red fruit. Delicious finish. Drink or hold." 93 James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com, Jun 2022

"A very classy wine, the 2019 Chianti Classico is 83% Sangiovese with the rest of the blend going to Canaiolo and other complementary varieties. This pretty entry-level red shows great silkiness and a nuanced bouquet with wild berry, crushed stone, licorice and wildflower. It ages in large oak casks for 12 months to help integrate those flavors. With an abundant 160,000 bottles made, this is a highly recommended value buy." 92 Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, Feb 2023

Vinedos del Jorco Las Enebradas Navalgordo 2017, 0.75L
Grenache from Paraje del Jorco, Castilla y León

"I was really looking forward to the 2017 Las Enebradas, because the first vintage, 2016, was the revelation of my last review of the zone of Gredos. I was quite surprised because the profile is very different: the wine has a lot more color and up to 2% more alcohol. Nacho Jiménez, one of the partners, explained that the profile of the 2016 vintage was exceptional and hard to replicate, as yields were higher and it rained just before they picked the grapes, so the wine is a lot lighter. 2017 was very different, a lot warmer and with lower yields, and the grapes delivered a concentrated juice with a lot more color, tannin and alcohol. It has a more Mediterranean profile, more in line with the rest of the wines. This fermented with 50% full clusters and temperature control and matured in one 500-liter oak barrel. Despite the higher ripeness and the headier character, the wines from Navatalgordo have a different texture and fine thread, the finesse of a cooler place and sandy soils at higher altitude (even if the vines are south-facing here), and you see it when tasting this next to the wines from Cebreros. It's more elegant and fresher. 570 bottles were filled in August 2019." 93 Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate

Valdesil Pezas da Portela Godello 2018, 0.75L
Godello from Valdeorras, Galicia

"Pale, green-tinged yellow. Fresh pear, white peach and orange zest on the nose, with honeysuckle and mineral notes adding lift. Bright and sharply focused in the mouth, offering incisive citrus and orchard fruit flavors complemented by suggestions of fennel and quinine. Smoothly melds power and vivacity and finishes very long and nervy, showing outstanding clarity and minerally persistence. (Drink between 2021-2027)" 93 Josh Raynolds, Vinous

"The barrel-fermented Godello 2018 Pezas Da Portela has a more golden color and a creamy nose, spicy and somehow flinty, not oaky. It fermented and matured with lees and bâtonnage in French barriques for six months. The palate reveals complex flavors; it's nuanced with a mixture of mineral and gunpowder-like notes with notions of tangerine peel, quince paste and dried flowers, with yellow rather than white fruit. This comes from a myriad of small plots in the village of Portela, where the family Prada Gayoso originated. Serious, seamless and expressive Godello. 8,000 bottles produced. It rested in tank for one year before it was bottled in February 2020. I had not tasted the wines from Valdesil for a while, as they seemed to have vanished into thin air." 92+ Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate
