Benjamin Leroux Nuits-Saint-Georges Aux Boudots 2020, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Nuits St. Georges, Burgundy

"Very typical of Nuits-St-Georges, with a dark plummy fruit, notes of earth and mineral, and an almost savoury edge to it - slightly rustic, yet still very refined. The grapes from this 0.4ha parcel were fermented as 60% whole-cluster, which imparts a slight edge of herbs or menthol to the wine, but this amplifies in a good way the slightly sauvage character. Delicious." 94 Charles Curtis MW, Decanter Magazine

"Background hints of wood and menthol are present on the super-spicy aromas of black cherry, raspberry and a plenitude of floral wisps. The sleek, intense and very rich medium weight plus flavors possess a caressing mouthfeel that possess notably better punch on the youthfully austere, balanced and impressively persistent finale. This is sufficiently compact that it's going to need at least a few years of keeping first." 92-94 Points, Allen Meadows, Burghound

Laurent Ponsot Charmes-Chambertin Cuvee du Cypres 2019, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Gevrey Chambertin, Burgundy

"From a parcel located in Charmes, down-slope from Chambertin, this is slightly backwards at present, with a bit of reduction, but behind these aromas there is plenty of sumptuous, bright red berry fruit. The texture is firm and fresh, with the grip and intensity to age well. Although it does not have the intensity or persistence of the Chambertin, it resembles it in its vibrant elegance and balance." 94 points, Decanter Magazine, Oct 2020

"Here the ripe and fresh nose derives more from the red side of the fruit spectrum while adding nuances of cherry liqueur, warm earth and underbrush. There is very good detail and subtle minerality to the dense and relatively muscular big-bodied flavors that deliver fine length on the balanced finale. This very firm effort will need to add depth over time to achieve the upper end of my projected range." 91-93 points, Allen Meadows, Burghound, Jan 2021

Louis Boillot Pommard Les Fremiers 2020, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Pommard, Burgundy

"Ripe, very fresh and restrained aromas that are composed mostly of red berries and warm earth though there are background nuances of humus and floral wisps. The cool, pure and equally restrained middle weight flavors possess very good volume and mid-palate density before concluding in a dusty, youthfully austere and firmly structured finale." 94 Allen Meadows, Burghound.com

Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Chassagne Montrachet Vieilles Vignes 2021, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Chassagne Montrachet, Burgundy

"This is a collection of various lieux-dits on the Puligny side of the appellation that average about 50 years in age. The result is a flattering Chassagne whose vibrant minerality pairs up harmoniously with yellow cherries and baked apple. There is lovely sap and whisper of discreet oak." 94 Christy Canterbury MW, TimAtkin.com

Taupenot Merme Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Bel Air 2018, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Gevrey Chambertin, Burgundy

"The 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin Bel Air 1er Cru is overtly floral on the nose with raspberry, cranberry and light loamy aromas, more oyster shell scents emerging with time. The palate is well balanced, very terroir-driven with great tension and vibrant red cherry and strawberry fruit bursting forth on the finish. Superb." 94 Neal Martin, Vinous

Geoffroy Blanc de Rose Rosé de Saignée Extra Brut 2013, 0.75L
Pinot Noir / Chardonnay from Cumières , Champagne

"... Blanc de Rose is superb. Rich, effusive and so wonderfully inviting, the Blanc de Rose checks all the boxes. Sweet floral accents meld into a core of red berry fruit, cinnamon and blood orange. Two years post-disgorgement, the 2013 has an extra kick of bottle complexity that rounds things out nicely." 94 Antonio Galloni, Vinous

"Derived from the 2013 vintage and disgorged in March 2019, the latest release of Geoffroy's NV Extra-Brut Rosé de Saignée Blanc de Rose is showing nicely, offering up scents of crisp apple, rye toast, red berries and cherries. Medium to full-bodied, chiseled and precise, it's seamless and textural, with a notably elegant, fine-boned profile by the standards of this habitually vinous, broad-shouldered cuvée." Disgorged Nov 2021. 93 William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Mar 2021

Philipponnat Brut Cuvee 1522 2016, 0.75L
Pinot Noir / Chardonnay from Champagne, Champagne

94 The Wine Independent

"The 2016 Philipponnat Cuvée 1522 is crafted this year from a blend of 70% pinot noir and 30% chardonnay. Most of the pinot noir in this bottling hails from their historic vineyard of Le Léon in Aÿ, augmented by some additional fruit from the grand cru village of Verzy. All of the chardonnay comes from Mesnil-sur-Oger this year. A portion of the vins clairs for the Cuvée 1522 in 2016 were barrel-fermented and did not go through malolactic. The wine spent six years aging sur latte and was finished with a dosage of 4.25 grams per liter after disgorgement. It offers up a beautiful bouquet of apple, white peach, complex chalky soil tones, pâtissière, white flowers, a whisper of buttery oak and a touch of citrus zest in the upper register. On the palate the wine is bright, crisp and full-bodied, with a lovely core of fruit, excellent complexity and mineral undertow, refined mousse and a long, focused and seamlessly balanced, vibrant finish. This is a beautiful bottle of Champagne that is just starting to drink well and will be even better a decade down the road." 93+ John Gilman, View From The Cellar

Tarlant BAM! Brut Nature NV, 0.75L
Pinot Blanc / Arbanne / Petit Meslier from Oeuilly, Champagne

"The NV Brut Nature BAM!, Tarlant’s Pinot Blanc, Arbanne and Petit Meslier blend, is terrific. It offers notable energy and tension, with lovely complexity from the perpetual reserve that is used to complement the base vintage .... Lemon confit, marzipan, dried flowers, tangerine oil and lightly honeyed notes linger nicely, with a whole range of bright saline accents that lend further energy and focus. This release is terrific." 94 Antonio Galloni, Vinous

"I love Benoît and Mélanie Tarlant’s BAM bottling, which takes its name from its cépages of Pinot Blanc, Arbanne and Petit Meslier .... The wine offers up a beautifully complex bouquet of white peach, hazelnut, brioche, a complex base of chalky soil tones, a hint of buttery oak and a topnote of dried flowers. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and impeccably balanced, with a superb core, very refined mousse, lovely focus and a long, complex finish. As I have said before, with extended aging on the fine lees de rigeur for all of the Tarlant bottlings, the acids have mellowed nicely prior to the wine’s release and the lack of dosage is hardly an issue here like it can be with so many other examples of Brut Nature, which are simply too young and snappy when hitting the market to provide drinking pleasure beyond the circle of non-dosé purists." 93 John Gilman, View From The Cellar

"Fun aromas of dried green mangos and green apples with ginger. Full-bodied with zippy acidity and a long, intense finish. Lots of dried fruit. Spiced pear, too. Really attractive and delicious. Pinot blanc, arbanne and petit meslier. From 2011 vintage. Disgorged June 2021. Drink now." 93 Points, James Suckling

Château de Fosse-Sèche Saumur Réserve du Pigeonnier 2019, 0.75L
Cabernet Franc from Saumur, Loire

From 60+-year-old vines yielding no more than 11 hectoliters per hectare, macerated for 20 days and aged in concrete eggs for 14 months, the 2019 Réserve du Pigeonnier offers a spectacular deep, ripe and intense, slightly toasty yet still pure, refined and floral-scented bouquet of raw meat, black berries, cherries, crushed stones, ivy and licorice intertwined with this unique elegant, iron-scented Fosse-Sèche note. Medium to full-bodied yet concentrated, round, intense and firm on the palate, this is a fresh, refined and elegant Cab Franc that is based on perfectly ripe and concentrated dark fruits and this nervy silex acidity of Fosse-Sèche. The finish is powerful yet always pure, mineral and refreshing. This is a noble red from Saumur, unfortunately declassified as Vin de France. 12% alcohol. 94 Points, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate

Auguste Clape Cornas Renaissance 2019, 0.75L
Syrah from Cornas, Rhône

"Outer quote mark Big smoke and black-pepper nose with some dried Mediterranean herbs. Bold and seriously structured, the tannins keeping the alcohol well in the background, this is a weighty Cornas with quite soft acidity that triumphs over what could be limiting factors, thanks to the beauty of the damson-plum and wild-berry fruit. Drink or hold." 94 James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com, Mar 2022

Far Niente Chardonnay Napa Valley 2021, 1.5L
Chardonnay from Napa Valley, California

"Mouth coating, ripe tasting and practically sweet with its abundant fruit flavors, this wine is a showstopper. Butter, toast and lemon zest aromas lead to baked apples, poached pears and marzipan flavors that are thankfully backed by persistent acidity that keeps the palate refreshed." 94 Jim Gordon, Wine Enthusiast

Paul Hobbs Cabernet Sauvignon Coombsville 2019, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon from Coombsville, California

"Fresh, with eucalyptus and menthol to the blackberries and raspberries. Medium-bodied, bright and crisp with fine tannins and pretty length. Cabernet sauvignon with 10% cabernet franc and a touch of petit verdot. Drink now." 94 James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com

"The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon (Coombsville) is a fabulous introduction to the range. This is the first vintage the Napa Valley Cabernet becomes a pure Coombsville AVA wine from the Nathan Coombs Estate. Dried herbs, coffee, chocolate, spice and new leather add layers of nuance to a core of dark-fleshed fruit. The 2019 is beautifully done. Dollops of Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot round out the blend, with the Franc and PV very much in evidence. (Drink between 2024-2034)" 93 Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Promontory Penultimate 2016, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon from Yountville, California

"The 2016 Penultimate is fascinating to taste next to its sibling, as it has all of the qualities of this great vintage - namely complexity, dimension and stature - just with less intensity. Bright saline notes give the 2016 its nervy personality, but there is plenty of finesse too. Lavender, sage, gravel and spice play off a core of dark fruit in this stylish Cabernet Sauvignon from the Promontory estate. Many years ago, Bill Harlan told me he wanted to show me something. He took out a set of maps and rolled them out on a table in the original Promontory winery. He talked of a place that sounded mystical, right out of a fairy tale. He called it 'the territory.' The place was Promontory. Whereas Harlan Estate and Bond remain very linked to the specific eras when they were founded, Promontory is all new. It is where vineyard and winery experiments happen first. Promontory has ascended into the stratosphere in a very brief period of time. These days, the Harlan empire is run by Will Harlan and Winemaker Cory Empting, who have entrusted Winemaker David Cilli with Promontory. Cilli, in turn, has responded with set of stunning wines culminating with the extraordinary 2018. In addition to being made from a very special and rugged piece of land, Promontory is distinguished by its relatively long élevage (by Napa standards) in cask, which is not seen at all in Napa, with the exception of a few very old school estates." 94 Antonio Galloni, Vinous
