Albert Boxler Riesling Grand Cru Sommerberg 2015, 0.75L
Riesling from Niedermorschwihr, Alsace

“Boxler's 2015 Riesling Grand Cru Sommerberg opens with the discreet charm and aristocratic distinction of a great wine. Very pure, clear, fine and elegant on the nose, with fine stony and herbal flavors but also ripe stone fruit and floral aromas, the 2015 tells the story of its origin in the glass in an excitingly subtle yet deep way. The palate is great! It is intense and juicy, nicely concentrated and ripe, with a touch of sweetness but gorgeous finesse, vitality and piquancy. The finish is pure and salty and develops a fascinating juiciness that explodes in the finish. This is not a wine for mouthfeel drinkers, but it is surely one of the finest, most delicate and balanced Rieslings you can find from this vintage. The combination of concentration, complexity, structure, minerality and sweetness (due to the low acidity, higher alcohol and extract) could hardly be better.” Wine Advocate 95 Points

Ostertag Riesling Fronholz 2016, 0.75L
Riesling from Alsace, Alsace

". . .the palate reveals still tightly coiled layers of lemon freshness. Zesty purity suffuses the ultraclean palate and hints at an inner well of boundless lemon zest. This wine needs to develop but promises thrilling pleasure with its concentrated, whistle-clean and dry palate." 95 Points Wine Enthusiast

"Striking licorice and dried lemon peel on the nose. A bold and crisp wine with a lot of mineral character at the long and very dry finish. This will be quite challenging to pair with food, but it really is a special wine and not a jot too powerful. Drink or hold. Made from biodynamically grown grapes and Demeter certified."93 Points James Suckling

Clos du Marquis 2015, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlot / Cabernet Franc from St. Julien, Bordeaux

“Extremely perfumed with blackberries, plums and bark. Lemon-rind undertones. Full-bodied, creamy, velvety and voluptuous yet focused and pinpointed. Intense dark-berry and chocolate flavors. Really well done.” 95 Points James Suckling

“The 2015 Clos du Marquis is a blend of 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc cropped at 39 hl/ha between 22 September and 9 October, a total of 15 days of picking. Matured in 50% new oak, it has a pure and harmonious bouquet with blackberry, sous-bois and subtle tobacco aromas that gently unfold in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin in the mouth, a keen line of acidity, fine precision here with a mineral-rich finish that exudes terroir expression. This is a great Clos du Marquis from Jean-Hubert Delon and his team, a Clos du Marquis with swagger.” 91-93 Points Wine Advocate

“The 2015 Clos du Marquis is powerful and dense from the outset. Inky blue/purplish fruit, licorice, spice, lavender and licorice are all pushed forward in this decidedly plush, voluptuous Saint-Julien. Firm tannins give the wine explosive energy that carries through to the persistent finish. From barrel, the 2015 was much more forward, but from bottle my impression is that it is going to need at least a few years to be at its very best. There is a good bit of polish here that just needs time to fully emerge.” 92+ Points Vinous

La Dame de Montrose 2010, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlot from St. Estephe, Bordeaux

“If this is the second wine of Château Montrose, I’d like to taste the grand vin! This is a delightful wine: the nose offers leafy and red-fruited Cabernet aromas – bright, with a high note of violet. Very stylish on nose and palate, with no sign of a super-ripe year. Lovely wine of real class.” 95 Points Huon Hooke

"One of the best second wines, and possibly the best since the 1990 is the 2010 La Dame de Montrose. This represents 36% of the production and is a blend of two grapes – 64% Cabernet Sauvignon and 36% Merlot. A superb second wine, opulent and substantively textured, it shares more in common with a flamboyant, exuberant year such as 2009 than most 2010s. Dense purple, its oodles of fruit, luxurious mouthfeel and terrific finish make it a sleeper of the vintage. It’s a wine to buy in abundant quantities . . ." Robert Parker 94 points.

Louis Latour (Domaine) Corton-Charlemagne 2015, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Aloxe Corton, Burgundy

"A flagship wine for this producer, this is rich and seductive, opulent even. Bold yellow fruits, ripe apples and pears are surrounded by a youthful texture that will allow it to age. The fruit and the touches of wood are still present, but will integrate beautifully." 95 Points Wine Enthusiast

Taupenot-Merme Mazoyères-Chambertin 2015, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Gevrey Chambertin, Burgundy

"Good bright, dark red. Explosive nose combines raspberry, plum, mocha, tobacco, earth and smoky underbrush. Wonderfully silky and sweet but with surprising verve and tension to its red berry, spice and salty mineral flavors. This compellingly rich, deep wine finishes with fully ripe, smooth tannins, outstanding length and terrific spicy lift. I underestimated this wine in late 2016; it now displays exceptional class for Mazoyères--and all the elements to make a great bottle." 95 Points Stephen Tanzer

François Villard Côte Rôtie Le Gallet Blanc 2015, 0.75L

Le Vieux Donjon Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2015, 0.75L
Grenache / Syrah / Mourvèdre / Cinsault from Chateauneuf du Pape, Rhône

“Rich and dark in profile, with delicious, velvety layers of warm fig, black currant and blackberry confiture moving through slowly, flecked with hints of ganache, roasted apple wood and tar. The finish has cut to match the heft. A real brick house that will age well.” 95 Points Wine Spectator

“Vivid ruby. Sexy, high-pitched red berry preserve, floral pastille and Asian spice aromas show outstanding clarity. Sappy, penetrating black raspberry, spicecake and licorice flavors gain weight with air and pick up suggestions of blood orange and smoky minerals. Shows impressive depth and polish, alluring sweetness and no rough edges. Showcases the best attributes of this warm vintage, finishing with silky, mounting tannins and lingering florality.” 93-95 Points Vinous

“These days, Vieux Donjon is one of the few estates in the region making only a single cuvée (Close des Papes is another). The 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape is a floral, violet-scented wine that's supple and ripe. Only medium to full-bodied, it showcases complex garrigue and licorice notes rather than oodles of red fruit and comes to a long, silky finish.” 93 Points Wine Advocate

Grenache from Chateauneuf du Pape, Rhône

"The 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Girard is blended exclusively for American importer Peter Weygandt and is bottled unfiltered. It's about 90% Grenache and delivers a compelling mix of fragrant raspberries and savory, earthy spices. It's full-bodied and plush, with a long, complex finish that suggests it will age well for a decade or more. It's powerful and concentrated yet feels fresh and lively." 95 Points Wine Advocate

Gaja Sperss 2011, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Barolo, Piedmont

“With fruit from Serralunga d'Alba, the 2011 Langhe Sperss is a wine of profound beauty. This is a velvety and caressing expression with dark fruit layers followed by kirsch, cassis, leather, balsam herb and white truffle. The Gaja family decided to move their bottling date forward in order to preserve the integrity and freshness of fruit in this warm vintage. This move has helped to avoid overripe sensations. In fact, Langhe Sperss seems fresh and tonic. This bodes exceptionally well for its aging potential.” 95 Points Wine Advocate

“Aromas of menthol, tobacco, juicy black fruit, grilled herb and a whiff of truffle unfold in the glass. Made with Nebbiolo from the firm's Serralunga holdings and a drop of Barbera, it has a pristine palate that delivers dark black cherry, licorice and black pepper alongside firm but fine tannins.” 95 Points Wine Enthusiast

“Love the aromas of plums, flowers and dried mushroom here. Wet soil and lavender too. Full body, firm tannins and a long and delicious finish. The combination of delicious fruit and velvety textured tannins gives this wine form and structure.” 94 Points James Suckling

“A mix of licorice, black cherry, vanilla, spice and tobacco aromas and flavors marks this intense red, which stays fresh and long, showing balance overall.” 93 Points Wine Spectator

“A dark, voluptuous beauty, the 2011 Sperss is wonderfully expressive and open today. There is plenty of Serralunga volume and power, but the vintage has given the Sperss softer contours than is typically the case. Lavender, smoke, violets, mint and succulent black cherries blossom through to the inviting, resonant finish. “ 93 Points Vinous

Piaggia Carmignano Il Sasso 2015, 0.75L
Sangiovese / Cabernet Sauvignon / Cabernet Franc / Merlot from Carmignano, Tuscany

"Piaggia's 2015 Carmignano Il Sasso is rich, ample and voluptuous in what is a very representative expression of the year. Black cherry, plum, lavender, spice, tobacco and dried herbs develop in the glass, but the 2015 is all about fruit intensity and texture. There is not much subtlety here, but wow, is the 2015 gorgeous." 95 Points Antonio Galloni

Bodegas Tradición Oloroso Añada 1975, 0.75L
Palomino from Jerez, Andalucía

"There is one more bottling of the 1975 Oloroso Tradición Añada from bota number one of the seven they still have from 1975. They filled 275 bottles, numbered and marked as L 1/17 (lot number one from 2017) in May 2017. The wine was released in September 2017. The single-harvest wines show more development than the soleras and they tend to have a more marked oxidative character. There are tons of hazelnuts, a spirity note and a volatile hint. The nose feels like an Oloroso but the palate has an unusual finesse, great freshness and could be considered a Palo Cortado by many, perfectly integrated and subtle. These wines are almost indestructible, but finding a bottle is already a challenge. . ." 95 Points Wine Advocate

Green Spot Irish Whiskey NV, 0.75L

"The bold, fruit aroma suggests fresh-cut apples and honeysuckle, while the silky palate offers deep, bold flavor. Look for dark honey and clove, edging into tea, oak and cocoa midpalate. Arcudi Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain Black Sears Vineyard 2013, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon from Howell Mountain, California

ON SALE! Original Price: $149.99

"Coming from the famed Black Sears Vineyard, better known for its black bear as well as old vine Zinfandel, this is an interesting Cabernet Sauvignon from Tony Arcudi, who worked for Michel Chapoutier and Heidi Barrett before starting his own brand. His 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Black Sears Vineyard spent 18 months in 50% new French oak. It is a gorgeous, flowery wine with loads of graphite, mulberry and blackberry followed by some spicy oak, a deep, rich, full-bodied mouthfeel, some supple tannins and a heady, lush finish." Robert Parker 95 Points.

“Deep, inky and powerful, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Black Sears Vineyard oozes with class and intensity. This is one of the more voluptuous, forward 2013 Cabernets readers will come across. The flavors are bold and intense, but all the elements are in the right place. In this vintage, winemaker Tony Arcudi pressed early to avoid overextracting. Full throttle and opulent to the core, the 2013 needs a few years in bottle to drop some baby fat. Chocolate, mocha, black cherries, new leather and smoke add the closing shades of complexity as this powerful Cabernet shows off its distinctive personality.” Vinous 94 Points

Chateau Montelena Cabernet Sauvignon The Montelena Estate 2013, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon from Calistoga, California

"Montelena's 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is unctuous, deep and concentrated. A wine of gravitas and power, the 2013 possesses remarkable textural richness, with a demi-glace like sweetness that is unusual for this wine and that lends an exotic feel throughout. The tannins are nearly buried by the sheer intensity of the fruit, but they are very much present. Patience will be key. Iron, smoke, tar and licorice are some of the many notes that infuse the voluptuous finish." 95 Points Antonio Galloni

Fess Parker Proprietary Red The Big Easy 2016, 0.75L
Syrah / Petite Sirah / Grenache from Santa Barbara County, California

"The 2016 The Big Easy is fabulous. Rich, powerful and flamboyant to its core the Big Easy hits the palate with tremendous fruit intensity. Super-ripe red cherry, raspberry jam, white chocolate, vanillin and new American oak shape this opulent Syrah/Petite Sirah/ Grenache blend. Winemaker Blair Fox has dialed in a style that captures all the exuberance of past editions, but with more nuance than the Big Easy has ever shown. Mayacamas Chardonnay 2015, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Napa Valley, California

"The 2015 Chardonnay emerges from dry-farmed, old vines on the property. In this vintage, the Chardonnay is surprisingly rich and unctuous yet it also retains its mid-weight feel. Orchard fruit, white flowers and mint, along with slightly tropical overtones, give the 2015 much of its distinctive personality. Readers who can find the 2015 should plan on cellaring it for at least a few years, as the wine needs time to shed its baby fat. Tasted again after the reds, with a good 30 minutes in the glass, the Chardonnay is flat-out gorgeous. About 80% of the wine spent time in larger foudres, which likely helped it retain a measure of freshness." 95 Points Antonio Galloni
