Cantenac Brown 2010, 0.75L
Bordeaux Blend from Margaux, Bordeaux
“One of the finest wines to come from Cantenac Brown for many years, this is powerful and dense, dominated by Cabernet Franc tannins and fruits. The structure has a smooth, polished character that locates it firmly in Margaux, giving elegance and discreet fruitiness. Age this fine wine for many years.” 95, Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, Feb 2013
“Beautiful dark inky purple with ruby highlights. The difference with 2009 is clear in terms of structure, style and knitted-down fruit. They are both brilliant, and quality-wise it's hard to pick as they have such different personalities. Higher acidity in 2010 set against confident tannins means your mouth is watering by the mid palate and it doesn't let up. Tons of black fruits and evident spice, slate, cigar box and liquorice bud, savoury and still zipped up. It needs a few more years in bottle before it will really start to soften.” 94, Decanter, Apr 2020
“The 2010 Cantenac Brown performed extremely well in the Southwold blind tasting. Here, the nose demands coaxing from the glass before revealing beautifully defined blackberry, boysenberry earth and mint aromas, perhaps a little more floral than a couple of years ago. Medium-bodied on the palate, this 2010 is focused and delivers plenty of substance; it's quite linear at the moment, yet sophisticated, and is as fresh as a daisy on the finish. Superb. Tasted at the Cantenac Brown vertical at the château.” 94, Neal Martin, Vinous, Jun 2021

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Echézeaux 2010, 0.75L
Pinor Noir from Flagey Echezeaux, Burgundy
"Approximately 45+ year old vines from 2 different climats, 90% of which is in Les Poulaillères and the other 10% is in Clos St. Denis. Exuberant and ripe spicy purple fruit also exhibits distinct floral and warm earth nuances that go on to suffuse the rich and finely detailed medium-bodied flavors that possess excellent underlying tension before terminating in a focused, intense and gorgeously long finish. This is pure silk and lace but the really impressive aspect of this wine is just how much depth it has. A sublime knockout . . ." 94, Allen Meadow's, Burghound, Jan 2013

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti La Tâche 2010, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Vosne Romanee, Burgundy
"This is perhaps even more floral than the Richebourg and every bit as spicy on the ultra-pure, cool and remarkably elegant mix of red and blue pinot fruit, red currant and wild red berries that are openly mineral-inflected. As with all of the DRC '10s, the equally stony flavors and supporting tannins are extremely fine and while there is ample power and vibrancy, the palate feel is all silk and satin. To be sure, this is a big wine with impressive concentration but this is definitely not cut from the same cloth as say the 2005 or 2009 versions are. I can admire both styles but this one is seriously lovely. Readers should note however that while the 2010 LT is exceptionally fine it will still require some 20 to 25 years of cellar time before it reaches its full majority but when it does, it will be considered one of the all-time great vintages for this incredibly storied wine. If your pocketbook can stand the damage, this is an absolute 'do no miss under any circumstances' wine." 98, Allen Meadows, Burghound, Jan 2013
“There's a unique dark, brooding side to this red. Black cherry, licorice, sandalwood, tobacco and woodsy spice notes mingle with dense tannins on the powerful frame, leading to a superb aftertaste of sweet fruit, spice and mineral.” 98, Wine Spectator
“The 2009 La Tache presents a rich tapestry of nearly indescribable elegance. The aromas and flavors seem to hover on the palate in this intensely sweet, perfumed La Tache. Bright floral notes, hard candy and mint ring out on the finish.” 96-98, Wine Advocate
“Good bright, full red. Ineffable high-pitched aromas of raspberry, pomegranate, cranberry, spices, flowers and white pepper. Wonderfully sappy and fine-grained, with outstanding inner-mouth mineral-driven perfume to the taut flavors of pungent red berries, flowers and spices. Most impressive today on the inexorably building finish, which features very suave tannins and great energy and lift. Built for a very long life in bottle and yet this great La Tache already reveals considerable charm.” 97, Vinous
“Very rich and haunting on the nose with truffles and violets. Then admirably firm on the palate. But so much stuffing! Liqueur red burgundy… Great energy. Great muscularity. Wonderful silkiness almost disguises those tannins. Enormous persistence without heaviness. Neat finish. Thoroughly energetic. Absolutely heavenly. Bravo!” 19.5, Jancis Robinson

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Richebourg 2010, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Vosne Romanee, Burgundy
" The 2010 Richebourg is a kaleidoscope of black fruit, graphite, mint, violets and spices. It is a towering, statuesque wine that completely saturates the palate in all directions, seemingly at the same time. The 2010 stands out for its beguiling, totally exquisite aromatics. The trademark Richebourg structure is present, but this seems to be a vintage where finesse takes precedence over sheer power. (Drink between 2030-2060)." 94-96, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Feb 2012

Drappier Grande Sendree Brut 2010, 0.75L
Pinot Noir / Chardonnay from Champagne, Champagne
"Pale gold in colour. On entry there’s a steely floral and sweet smoke note and then an explosion of citrus oil and pale yellow fruits. It thrums with an embrace that gives a sense of so much to come, with good weight behind a svelte and elegant frame. Structured and still so youthful. The 2008 was monumental but this seems to have as much presence. Up there with any of Champagne’s prestige wines. 55% Pinot Noir, 45% Chardonnay. Single vineyard. 35% fermented in oak. Seven years on lees. Dosage: 5.5g/L. (Drink between 2022-2030)" 96 Tim Hall, Decanter
"The 2010 Brut Grande Sendrée has turned out very well indeed, unwinding in the glass with youthful aromas of citrus oil, white flowers, white peach and fresh bread. Medium to full-bodied, bright and concentrated, it's youthfully tightly wound, with a racy spine of acidity, an elegant pinpoint mousse and a penetrating, chalky finish. This can't quite match the plenitude of the 2009, but it may outpace it with time, as this is an impressively vibrant, structured young Grande Sendrée." 93+ William Kelley, Wine Advocate

E. Guigal Cote-Rotie La Turque Cote Brune 2010, 0.75L
Syrah from Côte Rôtie, Rhône
"Both the 2010 and the 2009 continue to blow me away every time I taste them, and to me, these represent the pinnacle of Cote Rotie—albeit in very different styles. The 2010 Cote Rotie la Turque is a much more masculine and edgy wine that's going to reward cellaring. Its inky black color is followed by classic notes of smoked meats, scorched earth, licorice and ample black fruits. Big, rich, tannic and structured, don’t think about touching bottles until at least 2020." 100, Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, Dec 2016

de la Vieille Julienne Chateauneuf du Pape Les Trois Sources 2010, 0.75L
Grenache / Mourvèdre / Syrah / Cinsault from Chateauneuf du Pape, Rhône
"A new cuvee for this estate and a blend of 60% Grenache and the rest a mix of Syrah, Mourvedre, and Cinsault that comes from tiny yields of 22 hl/hectare, the 2010 Les Trois Sources delivers a decidedly mineral-drenched array of sweet plum, violets, black licorice, wild flowers, and hints of herbs on the nose. Perfumed, complex, and showing the estate’s hallmark freshness and purity, this full-bodied Châteauneuf-du-Pape is elegant and streamlined on the palate, with beautiful underlying concentration, ripe tannin, and a long finish. It will drink well for 10-12 years." 93, Jeb Dunnuck, Sep 2012

Colgin Cariad 2010, 0.75L
Cabernet Blend from Napa Valley, California
"The 2010 Proprietary Red Cariad reveals great intensity along with abundant notes of unsmoked tobacco leaf interwoven with blueberry, blackberry and cassis fruit, charcoal and coffee bean nuances as well as a Pauillac-like lead pencil shaving character. This blend of 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot and 14% Cabernet Franc is one of the finest wines I tasted over the 12 days I spent tasting in Napa Valley in late August and early September. This remarkable 2010 should drink beautifully for 20 or more years." 100, Robert M. Parker, Jr, Wine Advocate, Oct 2013
