F. X. Pichler Grüner Veltliner Loibner Steinertal Smaragd 2015, 0.75L
Grüner Veltliner from Wachau, Niederösterreich

“Fermented in tank and then aged in cask, whence I last tasted it, this projects a relatively soft profile, with ripe Bartlett pear and honeydew melon lusciously dominating. But welcome counterpoint arrives in the form of varietally typical crunch of snap pea, site-typically peppery pungency and stony impingement, and a glowing piquancy of fruit seed on the impressively sustained finish. Among the current collection’s Grüner Veltliner bottlings, this one preserves noteworthy juiciness and balances richness with tension and invigoration.”  Vinous 92-93 Points

“The 2015 Grüner Veltliner Smaragd Loibner Steinertal is a medium to full-bodied wine with a very nice and mineral acidity and a refreshing bright fruit flavor. Tightly woven but very elegant and with grip. Very promising.” Wine Advocate 91-92 Points

Franz Hirtzberger Grüner Veltliner Spitzer Rotes Tor Federspiel 2015, 0.75L
Grüner Veltliner from Wachau, Niederösterreich

“Based on multiple pickings from late September through the third week of October, this reflects a diverse array of crunchy, nutty and peppery greens ranging from spinach through cress. An upwelling of roasted lentil and turnip informs the satiny palate, with apple and honeydew suggesting sweetness while supplying refreshing juiciness. The superbly sustained finish is strikingly transparent to stony, crystalline mineral impingements. An ore-like glow there marries beautifully to low-toned vegetable elements, while peppery nips of cress and crunch of leafy greens provide persistent invigoration. This classic of its genre joins a long line of Hirtzberger Rotes Tor Federspiel bottlings that deliver in their own distinctive way every bit as much intrigue and pleasure as a top-notch Smaragd, and that age terrifically, too. But this particular bottling belongs near the head of the aforementioned line, and for reasons other than simply being the most recent!”  Vinous 93 Points

“Subtle pear fruit and just a touch smoky. The acidity is relatively gentle but sufficient for the depth and richness here – surprisingly rich for a Federspiel. Some spice on the palate and a lovely creamy texture.” Jancis Robinson 16.5 Points

“From several vineyards in Spitz, the 2015 Grüner Veltliner Federspiel Rotes Tor is Hirtzberger's commercially most important wine. The 2015 is an intense and refreshing wine with a good body, ripe fruit aromas, a piquant acidity and a pretty complex and salty, well-structured finish. A pretty powerful Federspiel with a good finish.” Wine Advocate

A. Mann Pinot Gris Grand Cru Hengst 2015, 0.75L
Pinot Gris from Alsace, Alsace

“The 2015 Pinot Gris Grand Cru Hengst is a gorgeously rich, intense and powerful Pinot with an oily texture, a vital acidity, great tension and length. Impressive.” Wine Advocate 93 Points

“Bright yellow with golden tinges. Perfumed aromas of guava, peach, minerals and sweet spices. Multilayered and suave, displaying a lovely sense of balance to the rich, long orchard and tropical fruit flavors. Finishes very clean and fresh, as well as a little sweet (29 g/L residual sugar and 5.1 g/L total acidity) and tannic; the hint of tannic bite is fairly typical of the Hengst due to its marly soils. Barthelmy likes the 2015 Pinot Gris Furstentum more in 2015, but for me it’s the other way around.” Vinous 91+ Points

Albert Boxler Riesling Grand Cru Sommerberg 2015, 0.75L
Riesling from Niedermorschwihr, Alsace

“Boxler's 2015 Riesling Grand Cru Sommerberg opens with the discreet charm and aristocratic distinction of a great wine. Very pure, clear, fine and elegant on the nose, with fine stony and herbal flavors but also ripe stone fruit and floral aromas, the 2015 tells the story of its origin in the glass in an excitingly subtle yet deep way. The palate is great! It is intense and juicy, nicely concentrated and ripe, with a touch of sweetness but gorgeous finesse, vitality and piquancy. The finish is pure and salty and develops a fascinating juiciness that explodes in the finish. This is not a wine for mouthfeel drinkers, but it is surely one of the finest, most delicate and balanced Rieslings you can find from this vintage. The combination of concentration, complexity, structure, minerality and sweetness (due to the low acidity, higher alcohol and extract) could hardly be better.” Wine Advocate 95 Points

Albert Boxler Riesling Grand Cru Sommerberg Eckberg 2015, 0.75L
Riesling from Niedermorschwihr, Alsace

“The 2015 Riesling Grand Cru Sommerberg Eckberg has a clear, fresh, mineral and highly delicate nose with concentrated white stone fruit but also flinty/stony aromas. Lemon flavors are here as well, but they are concentrated as in a chutney or a cake. Rich, lush, intense and beautifully concentrated (seamless) on the palate, with a lingering minerality, this is another gorgeous Riesling from Jean Boxler. Its finish is lean and finessed but also ripe, concentrated, rich, elegant and endlessly salty. There seems to be some sweetness, but the fine tannins, the body, concentration and finesse balance it perfectly. This Eckberg is fine and rich at the same time. A fascinating Riesling!” Wine Advocate 96 Points

Albert Mann Gewurztraminer Grand Cru Steingrubler 2015, 0.75L
Gewurztraminer from Alsace, Alsace

“Very ripe but precise and intense, with classic Gewurz flavors on the nose opens the 2015 Gewurztraminer Grand Cru Steingrubler, a powerful yet vital, precise and elegant wine full of tension and grip. Very stimulating its its purity and tension. The wine finished at 13.% alcohol and 37 grams of residual sugar, but you almost don't taste it!” Wine Advocate 93 Points

“Bright straw. Nuanced bergamot and candied orange peel on the nose, plus hints of cinnamon and white flowers. Bright, dense and pure, offering clean citrus and spicy honey flavors that are impeccably balanced (37 g/L residual sugar and 4.7 g/L total acidity). The finish is long and very precise. The Steingrubler always produces very delicate Gewürzes that lack the depth of the Furstentum, but are also at once refined and dainty - ideal for those who don’t like this variety’s powerful, often opulent personality. Very lovely wine.” Vinous 90+ Points

D. Coquelet Chiroubles 2015, 0.75L
Gamay from Chiroubles, Beaujolais

"The 2015 Chiroubles from Damien Coquelet is a fine, fine follow-up to his beautiful 2014 version. The lovely and sappy nose shows just a whisper of baked fruit elements in its mélange of black cherries, pomegranate, gamebird, violets, lovely soil tones and a topnote of woodsmoke. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and really nicely structured, with a sappy core harnessed behind a bit of tannin, bright acids and outstanding focus and grip on the long and still quite youthful finish. This is an absolutely superb young bottle of Chiroubles that seems to want to be a Morgon this year, as it shows uncanny structure for the long haul and is destined to be an absolutely gorgeous wine with a bit of bottle age. The hint of baked fruit tones meld beautifully into the vibrancy of the wine and really give this high class Chiroubles a bit of 1982 Bordeaux personality. It is approachable today, but I would opt for giving it at least a couple of years in the cellar to more fully blossom, as this is going to be a very uncharacteristically long-lived and epic bottle of Chiroubles." 93+ John Gilman

“Vivid ruby. Pungent red and blue fruit and floral scents are lifted by a zesty mineral note and a hint of white pepper. Palate-staining black raspberry and boysenberry flavors show excellent clarity and a spine of juicy acidity. Finishes sappy, sweet and very long, with subtle earth and floral pastille notes lingering.” Vinous 92 Points

Canon 2015, 0.75L
Merlot / Cabernet Franc from St. Emilion, Bordeaux

"The 2015 Canon was a benchmark wine that seemed to revitalize this historic estate. I was crossing my fingers that it would not disappoint in bottle and I am glad to say that it delivers the goods. It has a very intense bouquet (just as it showed out of barrel) with laser-like precision offering wild strawberry, raspberry preserve, wet limestone and hints of truffle. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, clean and fresh with pure black and red fruit whose every atom appears infused with minerals. The mouth is tingling long after the wine has exited and your brain is thinking...when is the next sip coming? It is frankly heads and shoulders above almost every Saint Émilion this vintage, to reaffirm, a benchmark for this historic estate that will give pleasure to many over the coming years. Astonishing." 100 Neal Martin

Clos Saint-Andre 2015, 0.75L
Merlot / Cabernet Franc / Cabernet Sauvignon from Pomerol, Bordeaux

"The 2015 Clos Saint-André (which some readers might recognize from the chapter in my Pomerol book) is a minuscule Pomerol grower close to Montviel. It has a generous bouquet of crushed strawberry and raspberry preserve aromas . . . clean and pure, and not overwhelmed by the 100% new oak. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannin, a fine thread of acidity, tightly knit red and black fruit with a touch of spice . . ."  Neal Martin, Wine Advocate

Desmirail 2015, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlot from Margaux, Bordeaux

"The 2015 Desmirail has a nicely detailed bouquet with blackberry, briary and iris aromas, gaining intensity in the glass, a Margaux with commendable presence. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin. This is saline in the mouth, quite brine-like towards the finish but I appreciate the length and persistence here. This fulfils the promise that it showed out of barrel and constitutes one of the longer-term Margaux wines. Tasted at the Oenoconseil tasting room in Bordeaux." Vinous 91 Points

Le Petit Haut Lafitte Rouge 2015, 0.75L

"The 2015 Le Petit Haut Lafitte is another terrific wine from Smith Haut Lafitte. Here, Cabernet Sauvignon speaks with authority. Black cherry, leather, earth, licorice and grilled herbs are all laced together, but it is the wine's pure power and structure that stand out most. Readers should plan on cellaring the 2015 for at least a few years, as it is far from an easygoing second wine." Vinous 92+ Points

"Composed of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot coming from the younger vines of Smith Haut Lafitte, the 2015 Le Petit Haut Lafitte sports a medium garnet-purple color and an alluring crushed red currants, black cherries and spice box-laced nose with touches of cloves and lavender. Medium to full-bodied with wonderful generosity and plenty of spice, the open-for-business flavors are well-supported by plush tannins, and it finishes with a peppery lift." Wine Advocate 90 Points

Sauvignon Blanc / Sémillon from Margaux, Bordeaux

(Pre-Arrival: Expected Early April 2019)

"Margaux's 2015 Pavillon Blanc is superb. Remarkably pure and crystalline, especially for the year, the Pavillon Blanc proves to be utterly irresistible. Lemon peel, white flowers, crushed rocks, mint and a hint of reduction develop in the glass, but it is the wine's energy that is most alluring. The intensely saline, nuanced finish only reinforces the impression of translucent purity. "A clarity and transparency to this pretty red with currant, lemon-peel and lemon-grass character. Full body, very fine tannins and a pretty texture. Precise wine." James Suckling 92 Points

"The 2015 Potensac is just as beautiful from bottle as it was from barrel. Dark, succulent and super-expressive, the 2015 is a terrific choice for drinking now and over the next handful of years. It does not have the aromatic expansiveness or body of the very best years, but in exchange, it will drink well pretty much upon release." Vinous 90 Points

"Pepper, savory and bay leaf notes lead the way, with a core of medium-weight cassis and cherry flavors. A tobacco hint and chalky minerality extend the finish, which has a pleasant austerity. A touch reticent in style, but will age well." Wine Spectator 90 Points

Merlot / Cabernet Franc from Fronsac, Bordeaux

“Very pretty aromas of perfume, currants and orange peel follow through to a full body, round and chewy tannins and a flavorful finish. Solid and structured.” James Suckling 92 Points

“Offers an enticing core of plum, black currant and raspberry paste flavors that are mixed with light charcoal, licorice and singed alder notes. This has energy to match its range through the finish. Merlot and Cabernet Franc.” Wine Spectator 91 Points

“The 2015 La Dauphine is potent, but also remains relatively light on its feet next to other Fronsacs in this vintage. Inky red/purplish fruit, floral notes and spice are among the signatures. Sweet floral notes and silky, polished tannins add to an impression of finesse. The blend is 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc.” Vinous 90 Points

Arlaud Clos de la Roche 2015, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Morey St. Denis, Burgundy

“Medium red. Aromas of strawberry, raspberry, flowers and spices. Juicy on entry, then suave and light on its feet in the middle, with dense red berry flavors accented by white pepper, mint and flowers. This is a live wire in the mouth but it's also seamless and refined. The very subtle, slowly mounting finish displays a touch of medicinal bitterness that stimulates the salivary glands. Arlaud noted that his grand cru vineyards yielded 30 to 32 hectoliters per hectare in 2015, which he described as good for a dry year and "better balanced as a result." The berries were small in 2015 but not nearly as tiny as those in 2003, when the same vineyards produced barely 20 hectoliters per hectare.” Vinous 93-95 Points

“The 2015 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru has an expressive bouquet with vibrant raspberry and wild strawberry scents, a touch of gravel and granite developing with continued aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with a candied opening, plenty of blood orange and even tangerine permeating the black fruit with a sweet, opulent finish that would benefit from just a tad more restraint. Good potential though and there seems to be a budding sense of joie de vivre.” Wine Advocate 92-94 Points

“Reduction flattens the nose. Otherwise there is excellent punch to the bigger, richer and more muscular flavors that possess a supple mid-palate thanks to the abundance of tannin-buffering dry extract that also coats the mouth on the focused, serious and slightly austere finish. This too is going to require a certain amount of patience.” Allen Meadows - Burghound 91-94 Points

Comtesse de Chérisey Puligny-Montrachet Hameau de Blagny 2015, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Puligny-Montrachet, Burgundy

"The 2015 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Hameau de Blagny was too reduced on the nose for me to read this barrel sample. The palate is much more indicative of where this wine is going to go: tensile from the start, steely with vibrant acidity. This demonstrates fine weight in the mouth, a keen line of acidity, a dash of spice on the tight-wound finish that will clearly require 4-5 years to really find its groove, which it will." 90-92 Points Wine Advocate

Domaine Méo-Camuzet Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Murgers 2015, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Nuits St. Georges, Burgundy

"The 2015 Murgers chez Méo is one of the ripest premier crus in the cellar this year, coming at a full 13.9 percent octane, but it shows absolutely no signs of sur maturité on either the nose or the palate. The bouquet is pure, complex and flamboyant, as it offers up scents of sappy black cherries and dark berries, espresso, dark soil tones, woodsmoke, gamebird and cedar. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and sappy at the core, with fine-grained tannins, superb focus and grip and a very, very long, vibrant and utterly refined finish. I remember well drinking the 1989 and 1990 Méo-Camuzet wines in their youth and this is remarkably similar!" 94 Points John Gilman, View From the Cellar

Francine et Olivier Savary Chablis Selection Vieilles Vignes 2015, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Chablis, Burgundy

"In Maligny, a village well-poised between Paris and Dijon, just north of Chablis, Olivier Savary and his wife, Francine, have been vignerons since 1984. Though many of Olivier’s family members were vignerons, an unfortunate series of challenging harvests discouraged his parents from joining the family business. Chardonnay runs strongly through his veins, however, and Olivier pursued wine school in Dijon regardless of the fact that he would have no vines of his own. Olivier and Francine arranged to farm some vineyard land en métayage (share cropping) in the Chablis and Petit Chablis appellations. With his father at his side to farm the complex network of vineyards, Olivier initially sold off the majority of his production in bulk to a négociant. Emboldened by their years of combined experience and family history of winemaking, Francine and Olivier finally found their wings and began bottling under their own label. In 1990, Olivier's longtime friend and Chablis legend Jean-Marie Raveneau introduced Olivier to Kermit. Today, Francine and Olivier are joined by their sons, Maxime and Mathieu, whose ambition and young energy ensures a bright future for the domaine." Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant

Jean-Marc Pillot Chassagne-Montrachet Blanc Les Macherelles 2015, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Chassagne-Montrachet, Burgundy

“Citrus and flinty mineral aromas are complicated by a note of breadcrumb. Initially tight on the palate, showing less obvious sweetness than the Morgeot Les Fairendes. In a more dry, linear, classic style, this premier cru finishes with a touch of youthful bitterness and needs some time in bottle. Riper stone fruit notes emerged with aeration.” Vinous 92 Points

“Moderate reduction presently dominates but there is good freshness and vivacity to the attractively intense and reasonably well-detailed flavors that possess solid levels of sappy dry extract while delivering fine persistence. This isn't especially refined but the generous delivery will please many.” Burghound 89-91 Points

This is opulent but well-balanced and should drink well both young and with 6 to 8 years of cellar time.” Burghound 90-93 Points

“Tighter on the nose than the Chaumes, offering scents of orange oil and ginger. The crop level here was 45 hectoliters per hectare but this wine, from a 1949 planting, is wonderfully plush and silky without any weightiness, conveying a tactile impression of concentration. Finishes lemon-limey and long.” Vinous 91-93 Points

Rollin Savigny-Les-Beaune Aux Grands Liards 2015, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Savigny-lès-Beaune, Burgundy

"This wine is the newest addition to the Rollin domaine. The first vintage produced was in the 2007 vintage. The vineyard is situated midway between the villages of Pernand Vergelesses and Savigny-les-Beaune as one moves in a southwesterly direction from Pernand. The first wines produced by the Rollin family from this vineyard show the wine to be surprisingly firm and structured with a density rare to find in the Savigny appellation. Again, an instance where we bottle a few magnums each year based upon our belief that this wine has significant capacity to grow as it ages. This small holding permits us the privilege of purchasing slightly more than a single barrel per year (300 bottles plus some magnums)." Rosenthal Wine Merchant

Samuel Billaud Chablis Bougros 2015, 1.5L
Chardonnay from Chablis, Burgundy

"The 2015 Chablis Grand Cru Bougros has a splendid bouquet . . . . There is real delineation and poise here, with walnut and smoke emerging with time and struck flint emerging later. The palate is well defined with a fine bead of acidity (although the acidity level is lower than in Blanchot). Touches of blackcurrant leaf and quince dovetail into a very energetic finish that lingers for over a minute. Superb . . . . Through his contacts, there is also an expansion of his portfolio so that from the 2015 vintage he now has a full complement of six grand crus to his name. I asked Samuel about the 2016 vintage. “The average yield was between 15 and 30 hectoliters per hectare, around half the normal production . . . . This was a fantastic set of wines from Billaud  . . . . One can speculate whether he would have been able to achieve such quality had he still vinified the wines in the temporary facility he occupied beforehand—I think not. That should take nothing away from a skilled and experienced winemaker whose approach I think is spot on, in particular his assiduous use of used barrels that do not impede upon the terroir expression and a judicious use of reduction that lends complexity without dictating the taste. The 2015s and 2016s might have been born under trying circumstances, but with the new winery up and running, who knows what brilliant wines lie around the corner." 93 Points Wine Advocate

Samuel Billaud Chablis Les Fourneaux 2015, 0.75L

"The 2015 Chablis 1er Cru Fourneaux was described as “gourmand” by Samuel Billaud. It comes from south to southeast-facing vines planted in 1971. It has a potent, slate-like scent that is clean and precise. I admire the precision here. The palate is well balanced with a citrus peel and fresh lime opening. It is quite harmonious in the mouth with a tang of stem ginger that perks up the finish. Bernard Baudry Chinon La Croix Boissee 2015, 0.75L
Cabernet Franc from Chinon, Loire

"Bernard Baudry, now joined by his son Matthieu, is a master of terroir-driven winemaking in the Loire Valley. Cabernet Franc is the common denominator here, but the Baudry vineyards span a range of soil types—sand, gravel, clay, limestone, chalk—yielding fascinatingly diverse expressions of the same grape. La Croix Boissée is among the domaine’s deepest, most complex, and longest-aging reds: sourced from a south-facing slope of clay over white tuffeau limestone, this cuvée demonstrates the grandeur and finesse Cabernet Franc is capable of achieving in the right site. Aged for two years in oak and bottled unfiltered, this high-caliber red could humiliate many a Bordeaux sold for ten times the price. Its trademark is a rich aroma of ripe black fruits, a mouthwatering acidity, and dense, chalky tannins that provide a clean, pure, refreshing finish." Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant

Marc Deschamps Pouilly-Fumé Les Champs de Cri 2015, 0.75L
Sauvignon Blanc from Pouilly-Fumé, Loire

"The “Champs de Cri” is an important parcel of 2.3 hectares known in Les Loges as the site that produces the most elegant and long-lived of the wines of this appellation. Deschamps’ holdings are exclusively old vines with an average age of 55 years (as of 2012). Out of respect for the complexity and depth of this wine, Deschamps leaves this wine in contact with the lees for several months more than his other cuvées and it is released for sale later than the other wines of the estate. It is frequently marked by notes of bitter orange, jasmine and beeswax." Importer Notes, Rosenthal Wine Merchant

Yannick Amirault Bourgueil La Quartiers 2015, 0.75L
Cabernet Franc from Bourgueil, Loire

"The 2015 Bourgueil “les Quartiers” from the Amirault family is a superb example of the vintage that is still on the young side, but already is quite expressive and its ultimate quality is very, very easy to see. The superb bouquet delivers a constellation of sweet dark berries, cassis, cigar ash, espresso, dark soil tones, a touch of cola and a gentle topnote of eucalyptus. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied, focused and sappy at the core, with excellent soil signature, ripe, seamless tannins and a very long, nascently complex and utterly classic finish. This is a great bottle of Bourgueil in the making, and though it is approachable already at three years of age, it is still a puppy and really should be left alone in a cool corner of the cellar for at least three or four more years and allow its secondary layers of complexity to start to emerge. Fine, fine juice." 93+ Points John Gilman

Clos du Mont-Olivet Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Unique 2015, 0.75L
Grenache from Chateauneuf du Pape, Rhône

“A beautifully crafted wine that has a deeply fragrant rose and red berry nose. The purity of grenache sings brightly. In the mouth it offers a fluid, even-paced and smoothly structured impression. Deceptive power, too” James Suckling 94 Points

“Vivid ruby. Heady, mineral-laced red berry preserve, spicecake and floral aromas are complicated by suggestions of dusty minerals and pungent herbs. Lively, sharply focused raspberry and bitter cherry flavors become deeper and sweeter with air while picking up a musky licorice nuance. Shows impressive energy and thrust on the sweet, red-fruit-dominated finish, which is framed by supple, slow-building tannins.” Vinous 91-93 Points

Domaine La Manarine Châteauneuf-du-Pape Pied de Baud 2015, 0.75L
Grenache / Syrah from Chateauneuf du Pape, Rhône

"Having first met Gilles Gasq through his work at Domaine Monpertuis in Chateauneuf du Pape, it is apt that he has circled back to the terroir where we made our first acquaintance. It has been Gasq’s dream to find a slice of the most esteemed terroir in the Southern Rhone, and as you can imagine the competition to purchase land in Châteauneuf du Pape can be fierce. Fortunately, in 2015, Gasq managed to purchase two adjacent parcels in the northern sector of the appellation. The two lieux dits, “Cabriéres” and “Pied de Baud” (Bois de Boursan also owns a parcel in Pied de Baud – it routinely is part of the “Cuvee Felix”) total 1.5 hectare and are comprised of 100% Grenache with an average age of 45 years. While they are nestled side by side, the two parcels are distinctly different: “Pied de Baud” has a sandy based soil, while “Cabriéres” is stonier, riddled with the larger galet stones for which Châteauneuf du Pape is known. Situated in the northern reaches of the appellation, these two sites are much cooler than the rest of the appellation, making a wine that is fresher and considerably less tannic. The grapes for this wine are partially destemmed (about 50%) and are fermented in stainless steel tanks for about 30 days before the wine is pressed. The wine is then racked and aged in a combination of stainless steel and large oak barrels for 18 months before being assembled and bottled." Importer Notes, Rosenthal Wine Merchant

Domaine La Manarine Côtes-du-Rhône Plan de Dieu Les Terres Saintes 2015, 0.75L
Grenache from Côtes-du-Rhône, Rhône

"The prestige cuvée of Manarine is destined for aging and bears the name: “Terres Saintes”. It is produced from a selection of lower yielding old vines (average 55 years old). Gilles destems the entire harvest and uses cement tanks for fermentation. The “Terres Saintes” (structured as a “vin de garde”) benefits from a longer “cuvaison” of 30 days or more. During the “elevage” both red wines go through “delestage” and “remontage” (a technique whereby the tank is completely emptied and the wine pumped back into it on top of the layer of skins) to extract color and flavor. Once the fermentation is complete, the wine is racked into cement vats for aging but 20% of the “Terres Saintes” is also aged for 8 months in “demi-muids” (larger barrels of 600 liter size). The wine is bottled without filtration after a 24 month “elevage”." Rosenthal Wine Merchant

"The 2015 Ürzig Würzgarten Riesling Spätlese is clear, deep and discreet on the nose, with ripe, concentrated fruit and beautiful flinty and herbal aromas. The wine is light, lush and round on the palate, enormously elegant and provided with highly delicate "salts" and "minerals." The finish is aromatic, beautifully balanced and extremely stimulating. This is a gorgeous Spätlese from one of the Mosel's most fascinating vineyards. Riesling from Zeltingen, Mosel

"Picked in one passage and without any pre-selections at the end of October, the 2015 Zeltinger Himmelreich Riesling Auslese Anrecht is super deep, intense and spicy/fresh on the flinty, concentrated nose. Full-bodied, pure and lush, this is a very complex and elegant, highly mineral and salty Riesling. It has good grip and a very long, mineral finish. This is great Riesling that is indicated as Auslese only, because of the sugar weight, but not because of the selective yeasts." 94 Points Wine Advocate

Tenuta dell'Ornellaia Ornellaia 2015, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlot / Cabernet Franc / Petit Verdot from Bolgheri Superiore, Tuscany

"The 2015 Ornellaia is a dream wine with magnificent balance. All the elements are in the right place. In most vintages, Ornellaia needs time to fully come together, but the 2015 is just impeccable, even in the early going. The warm vintage notwithstanding, winemaker Axel Heinz crafted and Ornellaia is more about finesse and power. The potent, bruising tannins Ornellaia can show as a young wine are nowhere to be found. Bright raspberry jam, mint, white flowers and pomegranate are some of the many notes that punctuate the finish in a memorable Ornellaia that will go down among the great vintages produced at this reference-point estate." 98 Antonio Galloni, Vinous

l'Arco Chianti 2015, 0.75L
Sangiovese from Chianti, Tuscany

"The grapes are picked and sorted by hand and after de-stemming and crushing, are sent in tanks for traditional vinification. Maceration on the skins for 22 days in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at 28°C. The alcoholic fermentation lasts an average of 10 days. The wine is then racked into 30hL oak barrels where it remains for 12 months for aging and malolactic fermentation. After one year the wine is kept in steel tanks for about a month, then lightly filtered, bottled and aged for another 4 months before market release. Very intense ruby ed color. The nose is a remarkably fragrant with red fruits such as cherry and raspberry, followed by a hint of licorice and coffee. Its sweet and velvety tannins wrap around the mouth, leaving a deep feeling of freshness, making this pleasant wine fine and very elegant." Weygandt Metzler

Cakebread Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Vine Hill Ranch 2015, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon from Oakville, California

"Vine Hill Ranch is a blend of two clones of Cabernet Sauvignon from three special blocks in the Vine Hill Ranch vineyard in Napa Valley’s western benchlands near Oakville. Hand-harvested at night to ensure the fruit’s freshness and varietal purity, each of the three vineyard blocks is fermented and barrel-aged separately. After the grapes are gently destemmed and crushed, the must from each of the three vineyard lots is cold-soaked in stainless steel tanks for 48 hours to extract color, aromas, flavors and tannins prior to initiating fermentation with a cultured French yeast strain. Once fermentation completes, the wines enjoy an extended maceration on their skins to extract color and flavor and soften tannins. The three are blended and aged 22 months in French oak barrels, 66% new, to create an intense Cabernet Sauvignon." Kobrand Wine & Spirits

Mayacamas Chardonnay 2015, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Napa Valley, California

"The 2015 Chardonnay emerges from dry-farmed, old vines on the property. In this vintage, the Chardonnay is surprisingly rich and unctuous yet it also retains its mid-weight feel. Orchard fruit, white flowers and mint, along with slightly tropical overtones, give the 2015 much of its distinctive personality. Readers who can find the 2015 should plan on cellaring it for at least a few years, as the wine needs time to shed its baby fat. Tasted again after the reds, with a good 30 minutes in the glass, the Chardonnay is flat-out gorgeous. About 80% of the wine spent time in larger foudres, which likely helped it retain a measure of freshness." 95 Points Antonio Galloni

Maybach Cabernet Sauvignon Materium Weitz Vineyard 2015, 0.375L
Cabernet Sauvignon from Oakville, California

"One of the greatest wines in the vintage is the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Materium which is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from a higher elevation hillside vineyard in Oakville that was raised in 90% new French oak barrels. Just magical stuff that has incredible aromatics of crème de cassis, white flowers, huge minerality, violets, and scorched earth. This is followed by a massive, opulent, yet weightless wine that has off the charts purity of fruit, fine, fine tannin, perfect balance, and a finish that won’t quit. This legendary beauty will benefit from . . . bottle age and keep for three to four decades." 100 Jeb Dunnuck

Opus One 2015, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon / Petit Verdot / Cabernet Franc / Merlot / Malbec from Napa Valley, California

"Composed of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot, 7% Cabernet Franc, 6% Merlot and 2% Malbec, Opus One's 2015 Proprietary Red Wine is truly an iron fist in a velvet glove, delivering a powerhouse of flavors and structure with a seductively plush texture. It opens with a deep garnet-purple color and wonderfully spicy notes of cinnamon stick, cloves and fenugreek with a core of cherry preserves, redcurrant jelly, blackberry pie and warm plums plus hints of camphor, lavender and cigar box. Full-bodied, rich and bold in the mouth, it fills the palate with exotic spice-laced black and red fruits, framed by firm, beautifully ripe, grainy tannins and great freshness, finishing with epic persistence. Although it is already approachable, allow it another 3-5 years in bottle for its myriad of subtle accents to fully blossom and then drink it over the next 30+ years." 97+ Points Wine Advocate

Ovid Proprietary Red Experiment P5.5 2015, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon / Cabernet Franc / Merlot / Petit Verdot from Napa Valley, California

"This Experiment is a furtherance of the thesis explored with the 2014 Experiment H3.4. With the H3.4 we wanted to investigate what would happen if we used larger 300L barrels rather than the standard 225L. Would the wines be fresher? Would they offer greater purity? What if we went even bigger? For the 2015 Experiment P5.5, we decided to age the wines in the standard 225L barrels for the first year and then blend and transfer the wines to 500L puncheons for the second year. The resulting wine is the best of both worlds. It has the freshness and vibrancy that we get from the larger formats while maintaining the integration and evolution of the smaller barrels. Dense and lush, this wine exhibits notes of blackberry, cola, dark cherry, plum, dried red tobacco, leather, pen ink, cocoa, orange rind and caramel. The burnished palate is fresh and lively, convincingly expressing the intrigue of this unconventional approach. " Austin Peterson, OVID

Schrader Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard T6 2015, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon from Oakville, California

"All of the 2015s will be reviewed from bottle next year, but basically the yields were not off as much at Schrader as some other estates, the alcohol levels were relatively modest ranging between 14.3% and 14.5%. Characteristic of this vintage, there is magnificent fat, sucrosity and thickness on display in all of these wines. They are inky black/purple and seemingly low in acidity, but according to Thomas Rivers Brown the acids were quite sound and healthy. The tannins are present, but so well-disguised by the high levels of glycerin and sucrosity that they are not that noticeable. Several of these wines, including the Schrader, CCS, T6 and LPV have the potential for perfect scores. These will be thrilling to taste next year and will continue the incredible legacy that Schrader Cellars has developed over the years." 96-100 Points Robert M. Parker Jr.
