Bodegas Aleanna El Enemigo Chardonnay 2021, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Mendoza, Mendoza

"A hint of flint and gunpowder with waxed lemon, oyster shell, mango and salted green apples. Quite a textured, saline expression of chardonnay with tangy flavors and a mineral drive. Full-bodied and reductive with phenolic support. Savory, saline and mouthwatering finish. Love the austerity here. Drink or hold." 97, James Suckling

Beau-Sejour Becot 2019, 0.75L
Merlot / Cabernet Franc from St. Emilion, Bordeaux

"Deep, dark, rich, full-bodied, concentrated and vivacious, the wine is packed with dark, black and red pit fruits, crushed stones, chocolate, licorice, flowers and forest leaf. The wine is powerful, refined, deep and fresh, with a finish that resonates with all of its ripe fruits and a touch of salinity in the long finish. This is their third vintage with Thomas Duclos as the consultant and each year seems to get better and better here. They are certainly on a hot roll at Beau-Sejour Becot these days! Give the wine a few years in the bottle and enjoy it for at least 2 decades after that. Drink from 2026-2055." 97, Jeff Leve. The Wine Cellar Insider, Mar 2022

Beausejour Duffau Lagarosse 2014, 0.75L
Merlot/Cabernet Franc from St. Emilion, Bordeaux

"An utterly spellbinding wine, the 2014 Beauséjour Héritiers Duffau-Lagarrosse is also one of the unqualified successes of the vintage. Beams of tannin give the 2014 its ample, broad feel. Inky red cherry, blueberry, smoke, leather and tobacco fill out the wine's big frame effortlessly. Layers of intense fruit meld into a huge spine of tannin in a vertical, massively structured Saint-Émilion. So many 2014s are charming and accessible, but this is not one of them. Readers will have to be patient." 97 Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Vinous.com, Feb 2017

The 2014 Château Beausejour Duffau-Lagarrosse is fabulous stuff and well worth seeking out. Made from close to 100% Merlot (there’s a splash of Cabernet Franc) and offering classic notes of damp earth, tobacco leaf, blackcurrants, and beautiful minerality, this beauty hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a terrific core of fruit, and more texture and opulence than most in the vintage. Canon 2017, 0.75L
Merlot / Cabernet Franc from St. Emilion, Bordeaux

"Nicolas Audebert and his team have done it again. The 2017 Canon is shaping up to be one of the wines of the vintage. Rich and vertical in construction, the 2017 possesses off-the-charts richness and intensity in all of its dimensions. In the glass, the 2017 is sumptuous and layered, with superb detail and tons of sheer pedigree. In 20 years, readers will have a fabulous time tasting the 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 together and debating their respective merits. Dark plum fruit, striking Franc aromatics and the clean, focused energy of Saint-Émilion's limestone plateau make for a ravishing, exquisite wine of the highest level. In a word: breathtaking."

"This is a structured wine with its tight acidity and concentrated white and citrus fruits. Produced from a small parcel on the Chevalier estate, it is complex with its mineral texture, its touch of pepper and its fine herbal acidity. It is a wine for long-term aging." 97, Wine Enthusiast, Apr 2017

Château Grillet 2019, 0.75L
Viognier from Château-Grillet, Rhône

“A real burst of fresh apricot and peach, lemon verbena and green tea. This has the salt and power of Château-Grillet, the confit lemon peel on the finish, the salted nuts. Very full-bodied indeed, very rounded and long, but not massive, more spherical.” 97 Matt Walls, Decanter, Oct 2020

Marcoux Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes 2020, 0.75L
Grenache from Chateauneuf du Pape, Rhône

"A towering effort, the 2020 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes soars from the glass with pristine crème de cassis, raspberry jam, black plum, scorched earth, incense, mint, exotic spice and white pepper aromas. The precision of the individual perfumes has a laser-like quality rarely seen in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Full-bodied and framed by ever-so-velvety tannins, it reaches a spherical dimension in the mouth. The recent adoption of 3,000-liter Austrian oak barrels beautifully contributed to the shape of this wine, giving it terrific poise and tension." 97 Nicolas Greinacher, Vinous

"One of the world’s greatest expressions of Grenache year-in and year-out, the 2020 Châteauneuf Du Pape Vieilles Vignes is all varietal that was brought up in larger foudre. This cuvée comes from the Charbonnieres and Les Esqueirons lieux-dits, which are mostly more sandy soils. Its deeper purple color is followed by a concentrated, medium to full-bodied, powerful yet elegant Grenache offering ripe cherry and darker berry fruits, notes of ground pepper, garrigue, and licorice, ripe yet certainly present tannins, and a great finish. Reminding me slightly of the 2006, which is drinking brilliantly today, it’s going to offer incredible pleasure over its lengthy life. Give bottles 2-3 years and enjoy over the following two decades." 97 Jeb Dunnuck

"Impressive depth of colour for the vintage, this is extremely round, fresh, clear and well-defined. Tannins are present and fairly strict in style, but they're ripe, and all in all this is exceptionally promising. Not huge in fruit or body, but well-balanced and precise. from 120-year-old vines planted on north-facing clay and sand lieux-dits of Charbonnières and Esquières. Fermented in concrete, aged in foudre." 97 Matt Walls, Decanter

Emrich-Schonleber Monzinger Fruhlingsplatzchen Riesling Grosses Gewächs 2021, 0.75L
Riesling from Monzingen, Nahe

“Werner Schönleber served the 2021 Frühlingsplätzchen GG after the Halenberg, which has never been the case here in 20 years, but knowing Werner's passion for the purity and freshness of this terroir, this makes completely sense. I remember I liked the 2019 Frühlingsplätzchen better than the Halenberg when it was young, and also from the 2021 vintage I adore the purity, brightness and flinty finesse of the Frühlingsplätzchen which is definitely the brighter, uplifted and purer Riesling. The finish is enormously salty and savory and reveals lemon fruit bitters on the aftertaste. This is life from stone, and it has a damn serious, very long and saline finish. Natural cork. 12% stated alcohol. Tasted at the Domaine in August 2022.” 97 Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Aug 2022

Le Potazzine Brunello di Montalcino 2017, 0.75L
Sangiovese from Brunello di Montalcino, Tuscany

"Aromas of crushed mint, pressed rose and perfumed berry mingle with warm spice in this dazzling red. Thanks to some of the highest vineyard altitudes in the denomination, it boasts vibrancy and finesse in its flavors of ripe black cherry, juicy blood orange, licorice and crushed mint. Taut, elegant tannins and fresh acidity keep it balanced and focused." 97 Kerin O'Keefe, Wine Enthusiast

"The ladies of Le Potazzine make a terrific bottle of Brunello, and their high-elevation vineyards are especially important in maintaining freshness in a scorching-hot vintage such as this. The 2017 Brunello di Montalcino offers a pretty succession of wild berry, cherry and plum aromas, along with light spice, crushed flowers and perfumed potting soil. This wine is also distinguished by a touch of bay leaf and maybe a warmer note of cured tobacco as well. This is an impressive effort." 95 Monica Larner, Wine Advocate

Piaggia Poggio de'Colli Toscana 2020, 0.75L
Cabernet Franc from Carmignano, Tuscany

"The darkly alluring 2020 Cabernet Franc Poggio de' Colli takes its time in the glass, slowly awakening with a dusty mix of red currants, pepper-tinged rose, exotic curries and the slightest touch of animal musk that adds gravitas. This is velvety smooth yet finessed. It's cool-toned in feel with a potent wave of tart raspberry fruits that saturates the palate with savory spice and mineral tones. It leaves a coating of fine tannins and a staining of berry concentration through the finale, tapering off sapid and long, yet perfectly balanced. What a radiant vintage for the Poggio de' Colli, Piaggia's varietal Cabernet Franc. Revisit it in five years to see some real sparks fly. (Drink between 2026-2034)" 97 Eric Guido, Vinous.com

Clos Mogador 2020, 0.75L
Grenache / Carignan / Syrah / Cabernet Sauvignon from Priorat, Catalunya

"The wine is more tannic and ... it matured exclusively in 2,000-liter oak foudre, and the impact of the wood is milder. A very good result, it's powerful but has good balance. The vintage is more tannic ..." 97 Luis Guiterrez, Wine Advocate

"Founded in 1979, the 20ha Clos Mogador lies at 350m altitude , surrounded by mountains up to 1,200m. The vines here grow on slate soils and the 2020 wine is a blend of 45% Garnacha, 29% Cariñena, 16% Syrah and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, fermented using 30% whole bunches and indigenous yeasts. The wine was aged entirely in 2,000L French oak foudres for 18 months before bottling. Beth Willard: A really dark and intense wine that speaks of the region. High-toned, perfumed notes and raspberry on the nose. Oak is well integrated. Big and rich, but with underlying elegance. Polished and serious. Diana Rollan: Dense and powerful nose with dark fruit, and notes of plum, black cherry, blueberries, sandalwood and dried herbs. Big and bold with pronounced tannins, but round and textured. David Williams: Complex nose with notes of blood orange, black cherry and Mediterranean herbs. Intensity but also drive on the palate; great mineral acidity, freshness." 95 Decanter Magazine

La Rioja Alta Rioja Gran Reserva 904 Selección Especial 2015, 0.75L
Tempranillo / Graciano from Rioja Alta, La Rioja

"A perfumed nose of plums, mulberries, mushrooms, caramel, sweet tobacco and sweet spices. Full-bodied with velvety, fine tannins and lively acidity. Balanced and supple with a creamy texture. Delicate and precise with a long, polished finish. 90% Tempranillo and 10% Graciano. Drink or hold." 97 James Suckling

"Color: dark cherry, garnet edge; Aroma: ripe fruit, candied fruit, wood, tobacco, sweet spices, wild herbs, and a lactic note; Palate: spicy, ripe tannins, long, elegant." 97 Guía Peñín

"The 2015 Rioja “Selección Especial 904” Gran Reserva from La Rioja Alta is crafted from a blend of eighty-nine percent tempranillo and eleven percent graciano in this vintage, with all of these vines at least sixty years of age. The wine was raised in four and a half year-old American oak barrels for thirty-three months prior to assemblage and bottling. The wine offers up a stunningly beautiful bouquet of red and black raspberries, cigar wrapper, a lovely array of Rioja spice tones, salty soil tones, woodsmoke and a lovely framing of coconutty American oak. On the palate the wine is deep, ripe and full-bodied, with a sappy core of fruit, superb soil inflection and grip, suave, seamless tannins, beautiful focus and balance and a very, very long, complex and utterly refined finish. This wine comes in at 14.5 percent in the ripe vintage of 2015, but there is absolutely no hint of heat on the backend, which is just utterly classical and stunning. At eight years of age, this wine is certainly approachable already, but in reality it is still a young wine and it will not to show all of its layers of complexity without another decade’s worth of bottle age. It is a brilliant wine." 95+ John Gilman, View From The Cellar

"They used the words subtlety, elegance, finesse, delicacy, and silk to define the 2015 Gran Reserva 904 Selección Especial, a blend of 90% Tempranillo from their vineyards in Villalba, Briñas and Rodezno with 10% Graciano from the Montecillo vineyard in Fuenmayor that was picked 23 days later than the Tempranillo. The grapes were sorted optically for the first time, and they fermented in stainless steel where the wine went through malolactic too. The wine was put in barrel in January 2016—used American oak barrels built by their own coopers—where it matured for four years, during which time it was racked every six months. 2015 was a healthy vintage with balanced ripeness that delivered wines with good aging potential. They thought the wine needed a little more time in bottle to polish those tannins and have decided to hold it and release the wine around March 2023; it will be marked Selección Especial, the first 904 to do so, as they have very high hopes for this year and believe it's one of the finest vintages. They think it will develop the sophistication in the palate with a little more time and that is should achieve the silkiness that is the signature of 904." 95 Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate

"Vivid ruby. Expansive red and blue fruit preserve, tobacco, potpourri, spice and botanical herb aromas, with vanilla and smoky mineral notes emerging as the wine opens up. Sappy, penetrating and gently chewy on the palate, offering vibrant, mineral- and spice-accented black raspberry, bitter cherry and rose pastille flavors that deepen and turn sweeter on the back half. Shows sharp focus and floral lift on the impressively long, youthfully tannic finish, which leaves behind notes of candied blue fruits and spicecake. One of Rioja’s most famed bodegas, this 300-hectare estate was established in the heart of Haro in 1890. All of the vineyards are in Rioja Alta, unsurprising given the name. La Rioja Alta has a long-standing reputation for producing some of the region’s best, most traditionally made wines, across the range. Solid value is the rule here, from top to bottom .... American oak is used exclusively, and its influence on the wines can be marked, even with age. While that style isn’t everybody’s cup of tea, Tempranillo fans of the old Rioja school, and there are plenty of them, are loyal followers of the estate with good reason." 95 Josh Raynolds, Vinous

Domaines Lupier Garnacha Navarra La Dama 2018, 0.75L
Grenache from Navarra, Navarra

"No 2017 was produced, so after the 2016 I tasted a while ago, we jump to the 2018 La Dama, vinified by Enrique Basarte and Elisa Úcar and blended and bottled by Raúl Pérez, the new owner of the project. They always look for a more delicate expression of Garnacha from selected stonier plots of old head-pruned and dry-farmed vines in the village of San Martín de Unx that are worked organically and biodynamically but are not certified. The wine is stunning, elegant and aromatic, with depth, complexity and grip. It's incredibly young and expressive and doesn't show its age at all; it has a refined nose and is quite fruit-driven and floral, with very integrated oak (like never before), supple flavors and very fine tannins. It has good ripeness and contained alcohol (13.8%) and good freshness and acidity (with a pH of 3.46 and 6.3 grams of tartaric)." 97 Luis Guterrez, Wine Advocate

Arietta Merlot Hudson Vineyard 2019, 0.75L
Merlot from Carneros, California

"Always a standout from this winning combination of site and producer, this is a 100% varietal vineyard-designate, from the cool landscape of Carneros. Rainier cherry, cassis and a dusting of baking spice highlight a seamless body of integrated tannin and oak, the wine offering power but also enduring elegance. The 2019 Merlot Hudson Vineyards is packed with dark plum fruit, chocolate and a whole range of cool-climate savory notes that add complexity as well as nuance. The Hudson Merlot is one of the most distinctive wines in Napa Valley, but it needs cellaring to be at its best. These are the oldest vines on Lee Hudson's property. Bedrock Proprietary Red Teldeschi Ranch Heritage 2021, 0.75L
Zinfandel - Primitivo / Petite Sirah - Durif / Carignan / Cinsault from Dry Creek Valley, California

"The 2021 Teldeschi Ranch Heritage Wine is dark, pliant and explosive. Black cherry, plum, lavender, licorice and dried Mediterranean herbs infuse the Teldeschi with striking depth. Dark and sumptuous, with tremendous density and tons of acid-driven energy, the Teldeschi captures all the vibrancy of Dry Creek. The blend is Zinfandel, Carignan, Petite Sirah and Cinsault. This is a rare case at Bedrock where the blocks are picked separately and blended later, as opposed to a field blend where all the grapes are picked and vinified together. Michel Rolland Cabernet Sauvignon MR 2019, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, California

"A joint project between consultant winemakers Michel Rolland and Jean Hoefliger. Hoefliger chooses the grapes, harvests and ferments the wine, and Rolland joins for blending sessions. Fruit comes from the Sleeping Lady and Denali vineyards plus a secret site. Lavish aromas of violets, blue fruits and sweet cedar. The palate rides waves of saturated black fruit and brown spices, tethered by fine-grained tannins and savoury baking spice oak notes. 700 cases made in 2019, building great momentum since the first 2010 release. (Drink between 2022-2045)" 97 Jonathan Cristaldi, Decanter

"A collaboration between famed consultants Michel Rolland and Jean Hoefliger, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is a classic, all-American, opulent Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon that just about jumps out of the glass with its massive cassis, blueberry, classy oak, spice, and floral aromas and flavors. It brings serious fruit and texture, is full-bodied, has sweet tannins, and no hard edges, all making for an undeniably delicious Cabernet Sauvignon that can be drunk today or cellared for 15-20 years. Cayuse Vineyards Syrah Armada Vineyard 2014, 0.75L
Syrah from Walla Walla Valley, Oregon

"Complex and mouthwateringly savory aromas of grilled meat, black tea, bacon fat and cocoa nib mingle with fruit tones of red plum and cassis in an enticing mélange on the opening of the 2014 Syrah Armada Vineyard. It is a full-bodied, layered and satiny red with an expansive, textural attack that gives way to a deep, intense and masterfully controlled mid-palate and finish. Despite being the product of a warm vintage, the 2014 is beautifully elegant and nuanced. I think the 2014 vintage from Christophe Baron will go down as one of the truly great vintages of the estate. The wines are notably deeper, richer and more concentrated than both the 2013s and 2015s, yet they have fabulous purity and elegance. While the ship has long since sailed with regards to getting on the mailing list, these are singular wines well worth the effort to track down on the secondary market. Looking at these latest releases from Cayuse, the 2013s are surprisingly elegant and silky, with less overall concentration and depth than I expected after tasting them from barrel last year. They possess slightly lighter, translucent colors, moderate to good concentration and polished tannin. At times I was wishing for a touch more exuberance and texture. Nevertheless, these are silky, seamless, elegant wines that will be fun to follow over the coming decade or more. The 2014s also lean towards the more elegant, streamlined end of the spectrum, yet have another layer of texture and richness. They're a step up over the 2013s." 97 William Kelley, Wine Advocate
