Domaine Guillot-Broux, Macon-Cruzille Les Perrieres 2020, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Mâcon-Cruzille, Burgundy

"Racy and tensile, the 2020 Mâcon-Cruzille Les Perrières mingles aromas of citrus zest with nuances of pastry cream and white flowers. Medium-bodied, taut and incisive, with terrific depth at the core, tangy acids and a long, chalky finish, it amply lives up to its name." 93+ Points, William Kelley, Wine Advocate

Domaine Ponsot Chapelle Chambertin 2019, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Gevrey Chambertin, Burgundy

Opening in the glass with aromas of cherries, strawberries and raspberries mingled with peonies and licorice, Ponsot's 2019 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru is full-bodied, layered and velvety, with a broad attack that segues into a deep, concentrated mid-palate framed by ripe tannins and lively acids. This has turned out very well indeed. 95 points, William Kelley, Wine Advocate

Full-bodied, layered and elegantly muscular, with a deep core of fruit, ripe and powdery tannins and lively balancing acids, it will reward patience." 94+ points, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Jan 2022

Domaine Sylvain Cathiard & Fils Bourgogne Aligote 2022, 0.75L
Aligoté from Bourgogne, Burgundy

The Aligoté grapes used for the Domaine's only white wine come from a total of 2.26 hectares of vineyards. A tiny 0.13 hectares situated in the commune of Nuits Saint Georges and 2.13 hectares in Villers-La-Faye in the Hautes Côtes are the sources. The vines in Nuits Saint Georges were planted in 2013, while those in Villers are impressively between 50 to 80 years old. These two vineyards are characterized by their deep clay soils. The winemaking process involves spontaneous yeast fermentation and aging for a period of 6 months in stainless steel tanks.

Domaine Taupenot-Merme Saint Romain Blanc 2018, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Saint-Romain, Burgundy

"Pale yellow robe with green hue. Saint Romain has notes of white flowers and toasted bread on the nose when young. When it has been aged, the nose changes to Mirabelle (yellow plums) and light honey. In the mouth, its liveliness, minerality and body make it very approachable when young." Winemaker Notes

Domaine de Villaine Rully Blanc 1er Cru "Les Margotes" 2019, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Rully, Burgundy

"Moderately prominent wood can be found on the ripe and very spicy aromas of white fruit confit, orange peel, anise and exotic tea. There is again excellent volume and power to the larger-scaled flavors that brim with sappy dry extract before terminating in a caressing, stylish and complex finale. This intense mineral-driven effort is lovely and a wine that should amply reward mid-term cellaring." 92 Points, Allen Meadows, Burghound

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Echézeaux 1999, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Echezeaux, Burgundy

"The 1999 Échézeaux stands out for its striking inner perfume and sweetness. Dark cherries, plums, mocha, violets and menthol all flesh out in a rich, inviting Burgundy that is just now beginning to approach an early plateau of maturity that will last another 20+ years. With time in the glass, the 1999 turns deep and rich. In this case, the vintage is a very strong marker, perhaps even more so than site. Far from an easygoing wine, the 1999 Échézeaux is a wine of notable intensity and pure power. (Drink between 2013-2039)." 94, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Dec 2013

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Echézeaux 2005, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Flagey Echezeaux, Burgundy

"Next to the super-refined, delicate 2006s, the 2005s come across as deeper and richer in personality. That is quite evident in the 2005 Échézeaux, a wonderfully lifted, precise Burgundy that is just starting to blossom. Today, the 2005 is all about nuance and detail. This is a terrific showing. Once again, in 2005 the Échézeaux is a real overachiever. (Drink between 2018-2045)." 94, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Nov 2014

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Echézeaux 2010, 0.75L
Pinor Noir from Flagey Echezeaux, Burgundy

"Approximately 45+ year old vines from 2 different climats, 90% of which is in Les Poulaillères and the other 10% is in Clos St. Denis. Exuberant and ripe spicy purple fruit also exhibits distinct floral and warm earth nuances that go on to suffuse the rich and finely detailed medium-bodied flavors that possess excellent underlying tension before terminating in a focused, intense and gorgeously long finish. This is pure silk and lace but the really impressive aspect of this wine is just how much depth it has. A sublime knockout . . ." 94, Allen Meadow's, Burghound, Jan 2013

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Grands Echézeaux 2002, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Flagey Echezeaux, Burgundy

"Strikingly perfumed nose is very rich and full with a lovely spicy definition to the fruit. Spicy and ripe, but with great focus and hints of chocolate and tar. The palate has lovely dense structure to it, contributed by the firm tannins and good acid, but the overall impression is one of elegance and concentration. This is one for the long haul. Excellent." 96, Jamie Goode, WineAnorak.com, Feb 2005

Sappy black fruits and distinctive notes of black chocolate are found in its expressive, bold personality. Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Grands Echézeaux 2004, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Flagey Echezeaux, Burgundy

"The 2004 DRC Grands Echézeaux looks destined to be a legendary vintage for this bottling. There is an elegance, transparency and purity to the wine in 2004 that is utterly remarkable. The glorious bouquet offers up notes of raspberries, cherries, Vosne spice, intense rose petal, striking minerality and vanillin oak. On the palate this beautiful wine is fullish, racy and crystal clear, with beautiful soil tones, laser-like focus, tangy acids, and great length and grip on the ripely tannic finish. The 2004 Grands Echézeaux is not a blockbuster by any stretch of the imagination, but is a wonderfully discreet, transparent and intensely-flavored wine of remarkable finesse. (Drink between 2014-2050)." 94, John Gilman, View From The Cellar, Mar 2006

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Grands Echézeaux 2005, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Flagey Echezeaux, Burgundy

"I was blown away by the 2005 Grands-Echézeaux Grand Cru because though I have tasted it two or three times, never could I envisage that it would reach this level. It has laser-like precision on the nose with more blue fruit than I remember, so much mineralité, as if someone had just ground limestone directly into the wine glass. The palate is exquisitely balanced with filigree tannins framing the pure red fruit, a Pinot Noir with unerring symmetry. It gains weight and depth with aeration, ultimately transforming into a profound wine and one of the best bottles of Grands-Echézeaux that I have tasted from the domaine. Tasted at Noizé restaurant in London. (Drink between 2021-2050)." 97, Neal Martin, Vinous, Aug 2021

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Grands Echézeaux 2006, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Flagey Echezeaux, Burgundy

"This remains quite reserved yet very classy with a wonderfully airy and layered nose that is distinctly floral while offering up a variety of spice notes, including anise, clove and soy nuances. There is terrific intensity to the pure and sleekly muscled flavors that possess real drive, indeed this does a slow but sure build from the mid-palate on through to the explosively long finish. This is a fascinating wine in that the natural robustness of a fine GE is present but the natural elegance of the vintage tames it somewhat and one could quite accurately describe the '06 GE as robustly elegant yet distinctly understated. Despite the elegance, this will need plenty of cellar time, indeed I have added two years to my original estimated initial drinking window." 94, Allen Meadow's, Burghound, Jul 2016

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti La Tâche 2002, 0.75L

“I am surprised by how delicate the 2002 La Tâche is, especially from magnum. Bright, crystalline and nuanced, the 2002 speaks more to energy and finesse than the more powerful, resonant expression of the year that is found in so many other 2002s. Domaine de la Romanée-Conti La Tâche 2005, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Vosne Romanee, Burgundy

"The 2005 La Tâche is simply magnificent. There is not too much I can add. Deep, powerful and richly textured, the 2005 simply has it all. Time in the glass releases the aromatics, but it is the wine’s pure sensuality I find most enticing. A host of dark red and blue stone fruits, hard candy and wild flowers take center stage. Even with all of its intensity, the 2005 retains striking freshness and purity. Can it get better than this?" 100, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, May 2016

“A kaleidoscopic and utterly dazzling nose features an array of red and black cherry, cassis, plum and subtle earth notes replete with beguiling Asian spice cabinet aromas and essence of rose petal. The intense, powerful and breathtakingly concentrated flavors possess a taut muscularity before culminating in a palate coating finish of simply huge length. Not surprisingly, this is still structured to the point of being chewy yet it is never rustic or coarse because the gorgeously detailed palate impression is buffered by buckets of dry extract. As readers know, I often use the word Zen to describe the kind of inner harmony of a great vintage of Romanée-Conti but rarely with La Tâche yet in 2005, the LT has this element of inner calm and grace as well. In sum, I remain confident that this huge but utterly classy and stylish wine will go down as one of the all-time great LT's provided that you have the patience to wait as it is going to be a very long distance runner. I should note that two bottles tasted in April 2016 showed some troubling signs of brett; however I had these bottles in China and it's possible that the storage and shipping were not what they should have been though. By contrast, another two bottles tasted in May 2016 were completely clean as were two bottles tastes in 2023 and 2024.” 99, Allen Meadow's, Burghound, Apr 2024

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti La Tâche 2006, 0.75L
from Vosne Romanee, Burgundy

"The 2006 La Tâche Grand Cru is a vintage that I had not tasted since it was in barrel. But what a gorgeous wine it has turned out. The bouquet is so seductive, a heady mixture of red and blue fruit, pressed violets and citrus fruit that soar from the glass with amazing precision. The palate is medium-bodied with precise tannin, velvety smooth in texture with layers of red fruit laced with black cherries, Earl Grey and even a hint of liquorice. Monitoring the wine over several minutes it seems to gain depth and persistence. Beautiful. Tasted at 67 Pall Mall. (Drink between 2022-2050)." 96, Neal Martin, Vinous, May 2019

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti La Tâche 2010, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Vosne Romanee, Burgundy

"This is perhaps even more floral than the Richebourg and every bit as spicy on the ultra-pure, cool and remarkably elegant mix of red and blue pinot fruit, red currant and wild red berries that are openly mineral-inflected. As with all of the DRC '10s, the equally stony flavors and supporting tannins are extremely fine and while there is ample power and vibrancy, the palate feel is all silk and satin. To be sure, this is a big wine with impressive concentration but this is definitely not cut from the same cloth as say the 2005 or 2009 versions are. I can admire both styles but this one is seriously lovely. Readers should note however that while the 2010 LT is exceptionally fine it will still require some 20 to 25 years of cellar time before it reaches its full majority but when it does, it will be considered one of the all-time great vintages for this incredibly storied wine. If your pocketbook can stand the damage, this is an absolute 'do no miss under any circumstances' wine." 98, Allen Meadows, Burghound, Jan 2013

“There's a unique dark, brooding side to this red. Black cherry, licorice, sandalwood, tobacco and woodsy spice notes mingle with dense tannins on the powerful frame, leading to a superb aftertaste of sweet fruit, spice and mineral.” 98, Wine Spectator

“The 2009 La Tache presents a rich tapestry of nearly indescribable elegance. The aromas and flavors seem to hover on the palate in this intensely sweet, perfumed La Tache. Bright floral notes, hard candy and mint ring out on the finish.” 96-98, Wine Advocate

“Good bright, full red. Ineffable high-pitched aromas of raspberry, pomegranate, cranberry, spices, flowers and white pepper. Wonderfully sappy and fine-grained, with outstanding inner-mouth mineral-driven perfume to the taut flavors of pungent red berries, flowers and spices. Most impressive today on the inexorably building finish, which features very suave tannins and great energy and lift. Built for a very long life in bottle and yet this great La Tache already reveals considerable charm.” 97, Vinous

“Very rich and haunting on the nose with truffles and violets. Then admirably firm on the palate. But so much stuffing! Liqueur red burgundy… Great energy. Great muscularity. Wonderful silkiness almost disguises those tannins. Enormous persistence without heaviness. Neat finish. Thoroughly energetic. Absolutely heavenly. Bravo!” 19.5, Jancis Robinson

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti La Tâche 2011, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Vosne Romanee, Burgundy

"As is often the case, La Tâche seems a perfect nexus of ripeness, accessibility, and power. The surprisingly open aromas of ripe black cherries and mulberry are complemented by hints of violets, liquorice, and sweet Asian spices. The texture is also approachable, with impressive density given depth by firm tannic grip and bright acidity that draw the wine to a lingering finish. La Tâche 2011 is starting to open already and will easily charm for another thirty years. Picked 5-6 September; 18,196 bottles produced. "Violets, roses, raspberries, and red cherries emanate from the 2003 Richebourg. Full-bodied, deep, and hugely concentrated, it is muscular, firm and displays the firmest structure of the Domaine de la Romanee-Conti’s 2003s. Soy sauce, tar, chocolate, and dark fruits are found in its focused, audacious personality. Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Richebourg 2004, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Vosne Romanee, Burgundy

"Aubert de Villaine chose a 2004 Richebourg for lunch at this tasting because of its 'good continuity' with the 2017 vintage. He also remarked that in 2004 there were still three ouvrées (0.125ha) of hundred-year-old vines. The wine is distinctly bricking at the rim and showing a bit of evolution, with aromas on the nose that include dried cherries, liquorice and black tea. The texture on the palate is very fine, and the wine lingers in a regal fashion on the finish. (Drink between 2022-2030)." 93, Charles Curtis MW, Decanter, Jun 2022

"The 2006 Richebourg Grand Cru has a wonderful blackberry, brine and slightly peppery nose, the stem addition maybe a little more tangible than I would have expected. It coalesces in the glass, scents of black tea emerging with time. The palate displays an effortless balance, the fine tannins framing layers of black fruit with veins of blue. The sappiness comes through on the second half that is poised and satisfyingly long. Superb. Tasted at Hide restaurant in London. (Drink between 2019-2045)." 95, Neal Martin, Vinous, May 2019

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Richebourg 2009, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Vosne Romanee, Burgundy

“Fine colour. Rich, closed, powerful and concentrated on the nose. Lots of wine here. Full bodied. Very good tannins. Profound and multi-dimensional. Excellent fruit. Splendid grip. This is really most impressive." 98, Clive Coates MW, Decanter, Feb 2018

“A heavily spiced and notably ripe nose features fresh notes of plum, mocha and cassis that are sprinkled with exotic spice notes that continue onto the expansive and tautly muscular broad-shouldered flavors that are, most surprisingly, almost as fine as those of the RSV yet even slightly more complex with the same finely grained tannins. The length is similar but at present, the extra dimension of depth gives this the barest of edges. Either way, this is genuinely sensational.” 94-97, Allen Meadow’s, Burghound, Jan 2011

The texture is massive, with firm tannins, a dense feel on palate and a tightly-wound finish that will take years to unspool. There is nothing astringent, tart, or bitter, but the wine needs time to open and then should last for decades. Picked 7-8 September; 13,971 bottles produced. Pinot Noir from Vosne Romanee, Burgundy

"The 2005 Romanée-St. Vivant is both incredibly aromatic and vibrant, but, then again, it is Romanée-St. Vivant. Here, the impression is of pure verticality and towering structure. A bit darker and more brooding than RSV often is, the 2005 is a wine built for cellaring. Perhaps because it is the first wine I tasted from the domaine, I have always had a weak spot for the RSV. The 2005 is magnificent, but it is also a wine for those who can be patient. (Drink between 2020-2055)." 97, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Feb 2015

The characteristic Romanée-St. Vivant perfumed bouquet is very much in evidence, while there is a sense of energy and pure drive that distinguishes it from the Échézeaux. Guilhem et Jean Hughes Goisot Saint Bris Corps de Garde Blanc 2020, 0.75L
Sauvignon Gris from Saint-Bris, Burgundy

"Grown at mid slope with more clay, all sauvignon gris which copes with the heat better. Clear crisp lemon and lime. Fresh yet with an evident sense of white fruit concentration. Massive intensity here, a little citrus to finish, slightly spicy and fuller bodied. The Corps de Garde is currently showing youthful bitterness, and amazing length." 91, Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy

Henri Gouges Nuits-Saint-Georges 2015, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Nuits St. Georges, Burgundy

“The 2015 Nuits Saint Georges Village, a blend on different small blocks between the south and middle of the appellation, offers a fragrant, well-defined bouquet with red cherries and cranberry fruit. There is impressive mineralité and transparency considering this is a "mere" village cru. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannin, tart cherries mixed with bergamot and hints of early grey. I appreciate the complexity here and it marks a significant step up from the Bourgogne Rouge.” 90, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Dec 2016

Henri Jouan Morey-Saint-Denis Clos Sorbè 2018, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Morey St. Denis, Burgundy

“Bursting from the glass with aromas of blackberries, smoked meats, licorice and cassis, the 2018 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru Clos Sorbé is medium to full-bodied, rich and nicely concentrated, built around powdery tannins and concluding with a long, sapid finish. . .” 90-92 William Kelley, The Wine Advocate

Hubert Lignier Chambolle-Musigny Les Chabiots 2020, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Gevrey Chambertin, Burgundy

"Reserved aromas of various dark berries, spice and a plethora of floral elements can be found on the ripe but airy nose. The wonderfully refined medium-bodied flavors possess very good concentration as well as good length on the youthfully austere and slightly lean but not angular finish. My projected range offers the benefit of the doubt that this will flesh out with time in bottle." 89-92 Allen Meadows, Burghound.com

Jacques-Frederic Mugnier Bonnes-Mares 2021, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Chambolle Musigny, Burgundy

“The 2021 Bonnes-Mares from Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier is a stunning wine in the making. The sappy nose soars from the glass in a beautifully transparent blend of cherries, red plums, raw cocoa, pigeon, a complex base of chalky soil tones, woodsmoke, a touch of mustard seed and a deft framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied, soil-driven and sports superb depth at the core, with lovely focus and complexity, fine-grained tannins and a very long, refined and seamlessly balanced finish. Great juice. (Drink between 2036-2100).” 95, John Gilman, View From The Cellar, Nov 2022

Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier Chambolle-Musigny 2021, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Chambolle Musisgny, Burgundy

“Bright, forward plummy fruit with accents of spice and leather dominate the aromas of this youthful, energetic wine. The texture is lively and fresh, and the accent is firmly on perfume rather than muscle. The light body and crisp acidity belie the subtle persistence on the palate. The wine is a blend of half declassified premier cru grapes from Les Plantes and half from the village-level portion of the Combe d'Orveau that were both picked on 21 September. The fruit is vinified with a very gentle hand, and fans of traditional Chambolle-Musigny should love this bottling. (Drink between 2025-2045).” 92, Charles Curtis MW, Decanter, Jun 2022

Jean Philippe Fichet Rully Blanc 2021, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Rully, Burgundy

"Pretty aromas include those of white orchard fruit, crushed anise and a floral top note. The mouthfeel of the slightly bigger and richer flavors is also sleek and detailed while displaying a bit better persistence on the dry, clean and balanced finale that is firm enough to repay 5-ish or so years of keeping." Allen Meadows, Burghound

Joseph Colin Puligny-Montrachet Le Trezin 2020, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Puligny Montrachet, Burgundy

"Beautifully layered aromas of smoked green apple, acacia and plenty of citrus elements give way to equally good volume and even more minerality on the impressively long and unusually powerful flavors that possess outstanding depth and persistence for a villages-level wine. This is built on its minerality though ultimately, it's the intricate and finely wrought balance that makes this such a standout. If you can find it, don't hesitate. *Outstanding, Top Value!*" 92 Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, June 2022

Joseph Colin Saint-Aubin En Remilly 2020, 0.75L
Chardonnay from St. Aubin, Burgundy

“From both En Remilly and Les Cortons. A vague whiff of the exotic is present on the aromas citrus confit, passion fruit and floral wisps along with a phenolic note. There is really fine intensity to the dense, delicious and caressing yet powerful flavors that also terminate in a lingering and youthfully austere finish that could use a bit more depth. This too is quite good . . .” 90 Allen Meadows, Burghound.com

Joseph Colin Saint-Aubin Murgers des Dents de Chien 2020, 0.75L
Chardonnay from St. Aubin, Burgundy

“An ultra-fresh and cool nose reluctantly offers up its aromas just sliced citrus, white peach and mineral reduction. The delicious, intense and impressively voluminous flavors possess fine mid-palate density along with plenty of minerality that adds a sense of lift to the citrus, serious and built-to-age finale. This is one to strongly consider.” 92 Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, June 2022

Joseph Drouhin / Vaudon Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru 2022, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Chablis, Burgundy

Joseph Drouhin Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Mouches Blanc 2019, 1.5L
Chardonnay from Beaune, Burgundy

"Exuberant and joyful, this white Beaune is brimming with pineapple, pear, honeysuckle and vanilla. Ripe and concentrated, but not a jot too big. Stunning mineral acidity that turns the finish into a firework display of fruit and terroir colors. From biodynamically grown grapes." 96, James Suckling, Jul 2021

“Mingling aromas of citrus zest and pear with hints of white flowers, buttered toast and almonds, Drouhin's 2019 Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Mouches Blanc (Domaine) is medium to full-bodied, rich and fleshy, with lively acids and a gourmand profile, concluding with a saline finish.” 92-94, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Jan 2021

“Despite coaxing from the glass, the 2019 Beaune Clos des Mouches Blanc 1er Cru is much more subdued on the nose than its peers, but in retrospect, I applaud its restraint. Moving on to the palate, it is well balanced with admirable tension, lightly spiced with white pepper and stem ginger. It gains weight and substance toward the finish. The 2019 is crafted in a more low-key style, brushes aside the opulence of the growing season and contains the sapidity to tempt you back for another sip. This is a bit of a dark horse. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.” 93, Neal Martin, Vinous, Dec 2023

Joseph Drouhin Saint-Véran 2022, 0.75L
Chardonnay from St. Véran, Burgundy

“The 2022 Saint-Véran from Maison Joseph Drouhin is a lovely example of its appellation, and for the first time in more than a decade in the American market, the wine comes sealed under a natural cork this year! The wine is nicely ripe in the style of the vintage, coming in at 13.5 percent octane and offering up a beautifully generous and expressive nose of apple, nectarine, a lovely base of chalky soil tones, just a hint of almond, fruit blossoms and a very gentle framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is bright, focused and full-bodied, with a fine core of fruit, excellent soil undertow and grip, zesty acids and impeccable balance on the long and vibrant finish. Texturally, this wine is so much more pleasing now on the palate with its return to a natural closure. Fine juice.” 90, John Gilman, View From The Cellar, May 2024
