Amirault 'Le Clos des Quarterons' Vieilles Vignes 2019, 0.75L
Cabernet Franc from Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil , Loire
“The 2019 Vieilles Vignes is not a single site wine but a blend of different old vines across the different parcels from 40-95 years old vines. It marks a step up in the range. It's a supple and well concentrated style with fine purity of fruit while the tannins are fine and chalky. It's a focused style with spice, delicate smoky notes and dark raspberry fruit. Delightfully handled tannins that coat the palate and make this one to drink over the medium term.” 92, Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous, Aug 2022

Château de Fosse-Sèche Laurasie Rouge 2019, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon from Saumur, Loire
"Darker in its ruby color, the 2019 Laurasie is a pure Cabernet Sauvignon from almost 20-year-old vines on the stony Jurassic plateau of Fosse-Sèche, where yields are not bigger than 20 hectoliters per hectare. This is fleshy and concentrated yet pure, fresh and elegant on the deep, terroir-driven and beautifully floral (violets) as well as graphitic nose that is absolutely distinctive in its delicate, pure and balanced style. Black and blue berries, dark cherries, green paprika, pencil lead and herbal, wet gravelly notes lead to a medium to full-bodied, highly elegant, refined and perfectly balanced palate that exhibits perfectly ripe, round and juicy fruit with a firm but ripe, very fine and elegant tannin/acidity complex. The finish of this concentrated red is tight, intense and spicy, showing black berry and chocolate as well as graphite and coal with dark cherry notes. Irresistible and, in 2019, possibly the finest wine from Fosse-Sèche. The wine was aged for 12 months in concrete eggs. Tasted in January 2021." 94 Points, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate

Château de Fosse-Sèche Saumur Blanc Arcane 2020, 0.75L
Chenin Blanc from Saumur, Loire
"Located at the end of the Plateau de Brossay, which is unique to Saumur in that it does not have limestone. The site is slightly convex with fresh and windy exposure. Bbiodiversity is of paramount importance and no chemicals are used in the vineyard. Young Chenin vines and yields of 7hl/ha. Flint with gravel and clay soils. Hand harvested. Native yeast fermentation in egg-shaped concrete tanks. No racking before aging. Winemaking is approached naturally, so depending on the vintage, there is spontaneous malolactic fermentaion." Château de Plaisance Anjou La Grande Piece 2021, 0.75L
Chenin Blanc from Anjou, Loire
“The 2021 La Grande Pièce is one of the Plaisance's single vineyard wines. It's a less-frosted site with pudding stones creating a solar effect on the vines. Half aged in amphora and half in mainly-used barrels. Lemon, apple, almond croissant pastry. Excellent intensity, concentration and persistence. There's an element of tenderness, but linearity pervades this wine like a train on a track.” 92, Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous

Château de Plaisance Anjou Zerzilles 2021, 0.75L
Chenin Blanc from Anjou, Loire
“The 2021 Zerzilles is its usual powerful self, lying in wait like a lioness to pounce on her prey for her hungry lion cubs. It has a sudden spurt of power and energy striking through the palate. While light in body, it has innate power, masses of concentration and an electric charge of crackling acidity. This is a pup of a wine that's going to need time.” 95, Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous

Domaine Guiberteau Saumur Rouge Cuvee Les Arboises 2017, 1.5L
Cabernet Franc from Saumur, Loire
.“The 2017 Saumur Brézé Les Arboises, from the south-facing monopole that was planted on sand and silt topsoil over limestone bedrock in 1957, opens deep, intense and toasty on the concentrated and refreshing mineral, smoky and bloody nose that needs a lot of time to integrate its fruity aromas. Fermented in concrete and aged in barrels (80% new, 20% one year old) for 18 months, this is a full-bodied, silky, fresh and unadorned Cabernet Franc from 60-year-old vines. The finish is dry and clear but not extraordinarily complex or long. Honestly, I find this style too oaky, and on the finish, I miss a certain intensity, complexity and length, but I admit I don’t have experience with older vintages. Tasted in May 2021.” 92, Stephan reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Oct 2021

Domaine Huet Vouvray Le Mont Moelleux 2020, 0.75L
Chenin Blanc from Vouvray, Loire
"There are many shouty wines in the world, but the 2020 Le Mont Moelleux is understated, which is highly attractive. There's finesse and elegance to this sweeter style (49g/L). Delicate exotic characters such as dried papaya and pineapple sit alongside floral notes. While there's excellent concentration, this remains delicate. The finish is appetizing thanks to fine acidity and phenolic structure, which hold the mouth reassuringly on the finish. An excellent wine that offers real drinkability in youth thanks to its appealing primary fruit, but there's no hurry at all to drink. A smidgen more length would take it into even higher realms (although, let's be fair, it's not far off as good as it gets). (Drink between 2021-2035)" 96 Rebecca Gibb, Vinous.com
"The 2020 Vouvray Le Mont Moelleux offers a deep, complex and concentrated bouquet of highly ripe and candied fruits yet with this coolish shimmering lime zest probably coming from the pebbly silex and deep green clay soil of this nine-hectare "grand cru." Full-bodied, rich and round on the palate, this is a dense, viscous, mouth-filling, lush and mellow yet also tight and piquant Le Mont whose complexity is lifted by dramatic drive and tension and carried to a long and salivating finish by lingering salinity. You can never go wrong in buying a Le Mont and in particular this one. This is a great effort from a very particular vintage that forced the harvest team to make the strictest selections. It was well worth the effort." 96 Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate

Jérôme Bretaudeau Muscadet 'Clos des Bouquinardières' Gabbro 2021, 0.75L
Melon de Bourgogne from Muscadet-Sèvre et Maine, Loire
“Matured 18 months in traditional underground vats, the 2021 Clos des Bouquinardières reveals an abundance of herbs, white fruits, minerals and smoke, intertwined with a delicate, grilled character. Medium-bodied and fleshy with impressive depth at the core, it’s perfectly balanced with a mineral, crystalline texture that finishes chiseled and ethereal. It’s a seamless, complete wine of compelling purity and maturity. It's approachable now but also built to evolve gracefully over the next decade. Jérôme Bretaudeau, a well-known winemaker in Muscadet and France, began his winemaking in 2001 after working for a winegrower who was also a nurseryman. This gave him a precise vision of the quality of grafted plants and a desire to use ‘greffage à l’anglaise’ instead of the widely used omega grafting method. He cultivates his 18-hectare vineyard with cover crops and ploughing, following the principles of biodynamic farming thanks to his meeting with the late Guy Bossard, another great figure of Muscadet. He avoids using barrels to mature his wines and completes malolactic fermentation on all his cuvées. His wines are renowned for their freshness, crystalline tension, and depth. In my opinion, he is one of France’s greatest winemakers.” 92+, Yohan Castaing, Wine Advocate

Ogereau Savennieres Clos le Grand Beaupreau 2020, 0.75L
Chenin Blanc from Savennières, Loire
"An intense and tangy style bursting with acid-drive and energy. The 2020 Clos le Grand Beaupreau was fermented in 500-litrer barrels (2/3rds) and (1/3rd) in amphora. Due to the sandy soils on top of schist, it's a light to mid-weight style that floats along the palate, yet has an unrelenting power. Expect pear, apple and even a note of white pepper. Olga Raffault Chinon 'Les Picasses' 2018, 0.75L
Cabernet Franc from Chinon, Loire
“The 2018 les Picasses is the most recent release from this vintage from Domaine Raffault and it is an outstanding young wine. It comes in at a very svelte (particularly for 2018) thirteen percent octane and offers up a pure and classic bouquet of cassis, dark berries, tree bark, a bit of saddle leather, gravelly soil tones, cigar wrapper and a topnote of distant bonfire on the breeze. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and classically-proportioned, with a fine core of black fruit, excellent soil signature and grip, ripe, chewy tannins and great length on the focused and impeccably balanced finish. This is a proper young release of les Picasses from Domaine Raffault and it is going to need all of a decade in the cellar to start to blossom, but it is going to be a very long-lived and superb bottle of Chinon once it is ready to drink.” 94, John Gilman, View From The Cellar, May 2024

Philippe Gilbert Menetou-Salon Les Chandelières Rouge 2015, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Menetou-Salon, Loire
"Les Chandelières is an east-facing vineyard of pure Kimmeridgian limestone planted in 1970 by Philippe’s father, and Philippe renders a Pinot Noir of such purity and expressiveness here as to make a Burgundian blush. Fermented with 25% whole clusters in large open-top wood, and aged two years in a combination of used demi-muid and stainless steel, the 2015 is luscious but controlled, with clean, fresh tannins and a profound mineral core. Philippe was the first biodynamic practitioner (now certified as such) in Menetou-Salon, and the health of his fruit is brazenly apparent in the finished wines. Ultra-low sulfur (around 30 milligrams per liter of total sulfur-dioxide) and a lack of new oak make for a Pinot Noir both terroir-transparent and ravishingly delicious."Clarke Boehling, Rosenthal Wine Merchant

Thierry Germain Domaine des Roches Neuves Franc De Pied 2020, 0.75L
Cabernet Franc from Saumur Champigny, Loire
The 2020 Franc de Pied is incredibly reductive when it was first opened and needed a lot of time and a swirl with a copper coin. If you can be patient ( 5 minutes with a penny in your glass, or your currency’s equivalent), It’s worth the wait. It reveals itself to be a richly fruited, savory style that fills the mouth with a balloon of chalky silkiness. The limestone element really shows itself on the long finish grained texture and sinew. As you’d hope from Saumyr-Champigny, there’s no sense of weight or heft. Detectable now but has the structure to develop over the coming two decades.” 94 Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous, June 2022

Thierry Germain Domaine des Roches Neuves Les Memoires 2020, 0.75L
Cabernet Franc from Saumur Champigny, Loire
“The 2020 Les Memoires is a round and elegant Cabernet Franc. It’s a not-trying wine that exudes a sense of calm and ease as it rolls around your mouth seamlessly. Maybe it’s the 100-year old vines doing their thing. There’s no oak getting in the way, allowing the purity of fruit to shine. It remains true to its variety and place, while its light spice meets dark fruits. Forget the fruit flavors, this is all about refined texture and its fine, chalky, powdery veil of tannins lightly coating the palate. Long and textural, this is not a wine you’ll regret...” 94 Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous, June 2022
