Casal Pilozzo Colle Gaio The Old White 2007, 0.75L
Malvasia del Lazio from Lazio, Lazio

"The 2007 Colle Gaio explodes from the glass with a heady and layered display of musky dried mangos and peach skins, as notes of lanolin and crushed dried flowers bring you back to earth. This possesses depths of silky textures, balancing savory and sweet with an almondy richness that mixes with salty minerals and ripe apricot to create a sensation that seems more like food than wine. A glycerol-like coating of fruit extract and liquid inner florals lingers incredibly long as the 2007 tapers off to nuances of candied ginger, hazelnut and a bitter yet lovely twang of lemon pith. At the age of 14, this Malvasia del Lazio is rocking!" 94 Points Eric Guido, Vinous

Bisson Marea Cinque Terre 2022, 0.75L
Bosco/Vermentino/Albarola from Cinque Terre, Linguria

"Made from a blend of several traditional local grape varieties: Bosco (60% of the blend), Vermentino (20%) and Albarola (20%). The vineyards that produce this wine are situated on south-facing slopes in the hamlet of Volastra in the town of Riomaggiore, the heart of the breathtaking Cinque Terre region. In this instance, [winemaker] Pierluigi Lugano opts to leave this cuvée on the lees for an extended period of time, respecting the old traditions of the region. The result is a fuller-bodied, earthy wine of immense character, almost briny, with a deeper golden tint to its color than is found in his other whites and marked by the aromas of heather, broom and juniper."

Aldo Conterno Barolo Bussia 2019, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Barolo, Piedmont

"Rich and generous, this red delivers cherry, raspberry, rose and sweet spice aromas and flavors. Harmonious and charming, with bright acidity and beautifully integrated tannins, this firms up on the long, vanilla-tinged finish." 95 Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator

"Rich in red and blue flower notes, delivering pleasure with the notes of lavender, passionflower, magnolia, and gardenia. A lot of citrusy nuances open the secondary notes. Medium- to full-bodied, extremely light, with gentle tannins of very fine grain and a harmonic, balanced finale with a smooth, progressive finish." 95 Raffaele Vecchione, WinesCritic.com

Aldo Conterno Langhe Nebbiolo Il Favot 2020, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Langhe, Piedmont

"Mineral and savory nose with lots of crushed stones, iron, seaweed, spiced blood orange and cranberries. Structured and vertical on the palate but nothing fleshy here. It shows more mineral tension and tautness than fruit. A pure, long Nebbiolo Langhe that gives clarity and precision. Already very drinkable now, but can hold as well." 93 JamesSuckling.com

Alessandro e Gian Natale Fantino Barolo Riserva Bussia Cascina Dardi 2015, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Barolo, Piedmont

Just bottled, the 2015 Barolo Riserva Cascina Dardi is a real powerhouse. This full-bodied, potent Barolo packs a huge punch. It won't be ready to drink anytime soon, that much is obvious. Time in the glass brings out aromatic intensity and inner perfume. Spice and blood orange accents lend an exotic quality to this dark, layered Barolo. The Riserva is a wine for readers who appreciate the natural fragility of artisan wines, wines that aren't perfect but that perfectly embody the human spirit.” 96 Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Nov 2021

Antichi Vigneti di Cantalupo Ghemme Collis Breclemae 2015, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Ghemme, Piedmont

"The 2015 Ghemme Collis Breclemae is going to be gorgeous, but it needs time, as it is going through and adolescent phase at present. Brooding and somber, with quite a bit of complexity, the 2015 certainly has a ton to offer. Wild cherry, tobacco, spice, leather and cedar all build as this powerful, strapping Ghemme slowly opens. All the 2015 needs is cellaring to be at its most expressive. (Drink between 2025-2040)" 93 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous

"The 2018 Boca Il Rosso delle Donne is a very pure, focused wine built more on linear energy rather than power. Dried cherry, orange peel, spice, mint, anise and alpine herbs give this mid-weight, ethereal wine plenty of nuance and presence. The 2018 is fabulous. Cascina Baricchi Barbaresco Riserva Rose Delle Casasse 2017, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Barbaresco, Piedmont

"The 2017 Barbaresco Riserva Rose delle Casasse is a rich, heady wine that is going to need a number of years to come into its own. Time in the glass releases gorgeous aromatics to play off a core of dark red/purplish fruit, spice and licorice notes. There's tons of depth and character, but this is an uncharacteristically reticent 2017. Give this exotic beauty time. The aromatics alone are so inviting". 95, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Sep 2023

Ferrando Carema Etichetta Bianca 2018, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Carema, Piedmont

"If there is any wine that defines the Ferrando “oeuvre” it is this one: the white label Carema. No single wine in our portfolio is more illustrative of our work than this brilliant rendition of Nebbiolo. Produced exclusively from the Nebbiolo grape planted in a series of vineyards that sit beneath Mont Blanc (Monte Bianco) in a broad amphitheatre with full southern exposure overlooking the river, Dora Baltea, that runs from the snow-capped mountains south through the Valle d’Aosta into the northwestern range of Piedmont slicing the city of Ivrea in half. The vines are trained in a special way on pergola (known as “tupin” in local dialect) to obtain maximum exposure to the sun in this high altitude district and are planted to soils that are dominated by slate. The appellation of Carema is extremely small: only 16 hectares (approximately 40 acres) are planted to the vine..." Rosenthal Wine Merchant

G. D. Vajra Barolo Ravera 2017, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Barolo, Piedmont

"Lifted and herbaceous, the 2017 Barolo Ravera is noted by aromas of fresh pine, ripe red cherry, licorice, and menthol. The palate has depth without weight and is noted by ripe raspberry fruit, apricot, and black tea. The G.D. Vajra estate is based within the commune of Barolo, where Giuseppe and Aldo Vajra helm the winemaking responsibilities. Giuseppe, who took more of a leadership role in 2008, has been instrumental in continuing to develop the family estate, while Isonzo Vajra leads in vineyard management. Most recently they have completed the expansion of their cellar space, and they are also releasing their wines a touch later to allow the additional time in bottle to soften any harsh edges. As of the 2019 vintage, both the G.D.Vajra and Luigi Baudana estates are certified organic." 96 Audrey Frick, JebDunnuck.com

"The 2017 Barolo Ravera is gorgeous right out of the gate. I am so impressed with its depth and pedigree. Rose petal, sweet red berry fruit, lavender, spice and dried herbs are all finely delineated in a Barolo of tremendous presence. Orange peel, cinnamon and cedar develop later, adding shades of dimension. Time in the glass brings out the wine's stature and power. The 2017 is going to be fascinating to follow. Today, it is just breathtaking. That's all there is to it." 95 Antonio Galloni, Vinous

"If it is true that perfumes bring us back the past intact, this wine is a small time machine. G.D. Vajra Barolo Bricco delle Viole 2017, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Barolo, Piedmont

"The 2017 Barolo Bricco Delle Viole is the darker fruited of the G.D. Vajra sites and has rounded floral aromatics of crushed roses, resin, and cranberry cocktail. The palate is ripe and inviting, with building structure and notes of fresh red cherry, blood orange, and clove. The warmth of the vintage is felt without sacrificing lift. Drink 2025-2050. The G.D. "The 2017 Barolo Bricco delle Viole is classy and elegant to the core. Medium in body and wonderfully translucent, the 2017 captures all of the finesse of this site. Naturally, the 2017 also shows the ripeness of the year, but it retains its sublime sense of poise. The 2017 Bricco delle Viole is one of the clear stand outs of the year. G.D. Vajra Barolo Coste Di Rose 2017, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Barolo, Piedmont

"With fruit from higher-elevation vineyards in the village of Barolo, the 2017 Barolo Coste di Rose is quite elegantly downplayed and fragile. The wine reveals wild berry, cassis and lots of blue flower or lilac. A pretty mineral note recalls crushed limestone and is present through the long and polished mouthfeel. This wine overperforms, considering the challenges of this vintage that saw extreme weather, from spring frost to scorching summer temperatures. These vineyard sites performed better than most. Some 4,800 bottles were released." 94 Monica Larner, Wine Advocate

"The 2017 Barolo Coste di Rose has bright aromatics of candied raspberry, apricot, anise, and dusty earth. The palate is medium-bodied, with fine tannins and notes of dried wild strawberry, fresh roses, and mineral-rich earth. This wine is open and inviting, while maintaining freshness and drive. Drink 2024-2040.<!--more-->The G.D. Vajra estate is based within the commune of Barolo, where Giuseppe and Aldo Vajra helm the winemaking responsibilities. "The 2017 Barolo Coste di Rose is pretty, supple and inviting. Some of the tannins need to resolve, but this is a young Barolo after all. The Coste di Rose doesn't have the sensuality of the Albe or the pedigree of the Viole, but it nevertheless has so much to give. Crushed flowers, sweet red berry fruit, mint, crushed rocks and sage are some of the many notes that linger. I won't be surprised if the 2017 is even better than this note suggests once it softens a bit." 93 Antonio Galloni, VInous

Guido Porro Langhe Nebbiolo Camilu 2022, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Langhe, Piedmont

."Don’t be fooled: this is a simple Langhe Nebbiolo in name and in price, but there is much more to it. The grapes are sourced from parcels adjacent to two legendary Barolo crus in the commune of Serralunga d’Alba: Lazzarito and the fabled Vigna Rionda. Having tasted Porro’s Baroli from these two sites, I infer that the Lazzarito portion provides this Nebbiolo with its surprising finesse, in the form of plush, toothsome fruit and a lovely perfume of dried flowers. The Vigna Rionda portion, conversely, supplies power and earthy grip. You’ll find enough structure to take this rosso seriously, but not enough to keep you from gulping it down unabashedly." —Anthony Lynch, Kermit Lynch Imports

Luigi Baudana Barolo Cerretta 2017, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Barolo, Piedmont

"A sweet perfume lifts from the 2017 Barolo Cerretta, with fresh violets, kirsch, cinnamon, and sage. The palate is energetic with forward fruit through the mid-palate with persistence, with tea leaf and present but well-integrated tannins. The Cerretta displays the elegance that is possible within the 2017 vintage. Drink 2022-2040. Since 2009, Luigi Baudana has been under the operation and ownership of the G.D. Vajra estate from Barolo. As with the Vajra estate, Giuseppe and Aldo manage the winemaking process, along with Giuseppe’s brother Isidoro, the vineyard manager. They continue to consult with Luigi for his understanding of the land and experience. They utilize primarily 15- to 17-hectoliter Slavonian barrels for aging, as the size of the cellar dictates. For the Barolo del Comune di Serralunga d'Alba bottling, selections are made from the crus of Baudana, Cerretta, and Costabella. With the 2019 vintage, they are now certified organic. (Drink between 2022-2040)" 96 Audrey Frick, JebDunnuck.com

"A dark, somber wine, the 2017 Barolo Cerretta shows the more potent, brooding side of Serralunga. Black cherry, gravel, smoke, cured meats, cloves and menthol add to an impression of virile intensity and pure power. Readers will have to be patient here, but there is certainly a ton to look forward to. This is another impressive showing from Baudana and the Vajra family." 95 Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Roagna Langhe Rosso 2018, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Langhe, Piedmont

""The 2018 Langhe Rosso is 100% Nebbiolo from Barolo and Barbaresco-designated vineyards. Dried red cherry, mint, spice, tobacco, dried leaves and worn-in leather all grace this super-expressive, ethereal Langhe Rosso. The 2018 comes across as a bit mature aromatically, so I would not push my luck on aging. Even so, it is a delicious wine for readers who want to experience a Nebbiolo with early tertiary complexity. In this vintage Luca Roagna was especially selective with what he bottled for his top wines, so production for the Langhe Rosso is nearly double what it is in most years." 90, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Sep 2023

Vietti Nebbiolo Perbacco 2020, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Langhe, Piedmont

"The 2020 Langhe Nebbiolo Perbacco is another terrific entry-level wine from Vietti. In this vintage, the Perbacco is especially fine. Sweet dried cherry, herbs, mint, crushed flowers, anise and orange peel grace this striking, alluring Nebbiolo. There's tons of depth and sheer pedigree, things that have not always been present in recent editions. For years, Perbacco was a very serious wine - some might say almost too serious - for its peer group. Then Vietti pivoted to a simpler style. With the 2020, Perbacco seems to once again be a wine that overdelivers, big time. Quite frankly, the 2020 Perbacco is more satisfying than many Barbarescos and Barolos I tasted this year. Eduardo Torres Acosta IGT Rosso Arenaria 2019, 0.75L
Nerello Mascalese from Terre Siciliane, Sicily

"The 2019 Nerello Mascalese Arenaria lifts from the glass with a dazzling bouquet of incense, dried violets, spiced tangerine and cherry pits. This is silky-smooth and elegant, with depths of red berries laced with lavender under an air of blue and purple florals. Tannins slowly build, creating a structured finish; yet there’s a pleasant inner sweetness that lingers and keeps me looking back to the glass. The 2019 Arenaria is simply stunning, and to think that this is the first vintage. This is from a half-hectare, north-facing parcel, just outside of the Etna zone, on Mt. Portella at 700 meters. However, the soils aren’t volcanic, but instead sub-marine sandstone with clay and quartz. Masseria del Pino I Nove Fratelli Etna Rosso 2019, 0.75L
Nerello Cappucio/ Nerello Mascalese from Etna, Sicily

"The 2019 Vino Rosso I Nove Fratelli takes a while to blossom, starting out dusty and coy with hints of dried roses and plum. Exotic savory spices come forward with time in the glass, along with notes of strawberry and smoke. In the mouth, it’s soft and fleshy at first, offset by a concentrated mass of tart wild berries and salty minerals under an air of inner florals. Tannins slowly mount, creating a youthfully dry impression through the finale, as sweet herbal notes, tobacco and echoes of ripe raspberries linger long. There’s simply so much going on here, yet the 2019 will require some time to come fully into focus. I Nove Fratelli is a blend of 90% Nerello Mascalese and 10% Nerello Cappuccio, from 120-year-old pre-phylloxera vines, fermented with indigenous yeasts and matured in 500-liter oak barrels. Kofererhof Sylvaner R 2021, 0.75L
Sylvaner from Alto Adige Valle Isarco Eisacktal, Trentino Alto Adige Südtirol

"The 2021 Sylvaner R captivates, at first nuanced and understated, yet gains in volume and depth. Cardamom, stone dust and dried flowers complicate depths of crushed apricot and nectarine aromas. It washes across the palate with silky, nearly-oily textures. A stimulating, acidic core perfectly offsets a wave of mineral-tinged stone fruits and sweet spices. The 2021 resonates with salty tension, puckering the cheeks in its youthful state as lemon zest and green apple nuances fade. The 2021 is exciting to taste, but it's even more exciting to fantasize about what's to come with more bottle age. Brilliant."   94, Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Cabreo Toscana Il Borgo 2018, 0.75L
Sangiovese / Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlot from Tuscany, Tuscany

"This is a very pretty, with currant, cherry and some mahogany and cigar-box character. It’s medium-to full-bodied with tight, linear tannins that are long and very intense. Polished nicely. Hard not to drink now, but better in 2024 and onwards." 94 James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com

"A blend of equal parts Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, the 2018 Il Borgo is a renewed wine with this vintage. Past editions saw a blend of mostly Sangiovese with Cabernet Sauvignon in a supporting role. This release is softer on the mid-palate with darkly extracted fruit. The wine reveals dark cherry, spice and hints of bittersweet chocolate that give it a very contemporary, accessible personality. Fruit is sourced from across 40 hectares of vine." 92 Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, Feb 2023

Fabio Motta Le Gonnare Bolgheri 2018, 0.75L
Merlot / Syrah from Bolgheri, Tuscany

"Fabio Motta is one of the best performers in Bolgheri among the small producers of the next generation. Almost ready with his new winery, it represents a kind of garagiste in the appellation. He ferments all the wines with natural yeast and manages careful extraction and maceration. His original blend for Le Gonnare sees an addition of Syrah to complete the 85% of Merlot and is aged in 1/3 new French oak barriques. Intense and perfumed it shows kiwi peel and cedar wood aromas, loaded with restrained cassis and bitter orange flavour. The attack is dense and ripe with elegant texture and chewy tension on the finish." 95 Aldo Fiordelli, Decanter Magazine

"Extremely complex and darkly primary in profile, with alternating notes of black plum, blackberry, incense, black tea leaves, licorice stick, and sandalwood. The palate is splendid, combining notes of blood orange and cut cedar. Full bodied with soft tannins, good structure, and a horizontal finish . . ." 92 Raffaele Vecchione, mmt.WinesCritic.com

Gianni Brunelli Le Chiuse di Sotto Rosso di Montalcino 2020, 0.75L
Brunello from Montalcino, Tuscany

"The Gianni Brunelli Le Chiuse di Sotto 2020 Rosso di Montalcino is bright and loaded with a fresh, buoyant personality focused on red cherry, cassis and bitter almond. There are hints of ferrous earth and crushed aspirin that add extra contours and edging to this fun, easy-drinking Rosso. I certainly wouldn't mind this bottle next to a classic wood-fired pizza Margherita, but only 6,000 bottles were made, so I imagine availability will be limited." 91, Monica Larner, Wine Advocate

Le Potazzine Brunello di Montalcino 2017, 0.75L
Sangiovese from Brunello di Montalcino, Tuscany

"Aromas of crushed mint, pressed rose and perfumed berry mingle with warm spice in this dazzling red. Thanks to some of the highest vineyard altitudes in the denomination, it boasts vibrancy and finesse in its flavors of ripe black cherry, juicy blood orange, licorice and crushed mint. Taut, elegant tannins and fresh acidity keep it balanced and focused." 97 Kerin O'Keefe, Wine Enthusiast

"The ladies of Le Potazzine make a terrific bottle of Brunello, and their high-elevation vineyards are especially important in maintaining freshness in a scorching-hot vintage such as this. The 2017 Brunello di Montalcino offers a pretty succession of wild berry, cherry and plum aromas, along with light spice, crushed flowers and perfumed potting soil. This wine is also distinguished by a touch of bay leaf and maybe a warmer note of cured tobacco as well. This is an impressive effort." 95 Monica Larner, Wine Advocate

Montenidoli Extra Virgin Olive Oil 2022, 0.5L
Olive Oil from San Gimignano, Tuscany

"Olives have been grown at Montenidoli since Etruscan time. We currently grow the Moraiolo and Correggiolo varieties; the former provides body, the latter perfume. Our olive trees are organically grown and pruned yearly. The harvest, by hand, begins in November and continues until just before Christmas. Our EVO [extra virgin olive] oil is in fact extra extra virgin: at the time of pressing its acidity is less than 0.20%, which is far below the 1% maximum allowed acidity for EVO oils. Montenidoli’s EVO oil emerges from the presses opaque and brash, with powerful vegetal aromas. Throughout its youth, it remains strongly flavored, with pronounced artichoke accents that make it more of a food to be served over bread than a condiment. Our EVO oil is extremely healthy; It’s an excellent source of good (LDL) cholesterol and is rich in vitamins." Montenidoli

Montepeloso Eneo IGT 2020, 0.75L
Montepulciano / Sangiovese from Toscana, Tuscany

"This is a blend of 65% Sangiovese, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Malvasia Nera from a warm vintage. The 2020 Eneo doesn't have the same pulp and mass that we see in the 2019 vintage; however, it does show lots of richness and intensity, especially in terms of bouquet. Perhaps the aromas are more focused and sharp in this wine, and there is a pretty mineral note that cuts a through line connecting the bouquet to the medium to full-bodied mouthfeel. This vintage feels more accessible compared to the 2019, and the alcohol content is a high 15%. Production is 29,000 bottles". 96, Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, Jun 2023

Piaggia Poggio de'Colli Toscana 2020, 0.75L
Cabernet Franc from Carmignano, Tuscany

"The darkly alluring 2020 Cabernet Franc Poggio de' Colli takes its time in the glass, slowly awakening with a dusty mix of red currants, pepper-tinged rose, exotic curries and the slightest touch of animal musk that adds gravitas. This is velvety smooth yet finessed. It's cool-toned in feel with a potent wave of tart raspberry fruits that saturates the palate with savory spice and mineral tones. It leaves a coating of fine tannins and a staining of berry concentration through the finale, tapering off sapid and long, yet perfectly balanced. What a radiant vintage for the Poggio de' Colli, Piaggia's varietal Cabernet Franc. Revisit it in five years to see some real sparks fly. (Drink between 2026-2034)" 97 Eric Guido, Vinous.com

Podere Il Palazzino Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Grosso Sanese 2016, 0.75L
Sangiovese from Chianti Classico, Tuscany

"Il Palazzino's Chianti Classico Grosso Sanese is often one of the great wines of Chianti Classico, as it is once again in 2016. Dark, somber and explosive, the 2016 possesses off the charts intensity to match its brooding personality. Black cherry, scorched earth, tobacco, licorice and incense hit the palate. Deep and layered in the glass, the 2016 is super-impressive. What a wine. Il Palazzino is, inexplicably, one of the most under-the-radar estates in all of Chianti Classico. Alessandro and Andrea Sderci craft, rich, large-scaled Chianti Classicos that capture all of the natural intensity of Monti in Chianti, where the estate is located. Readers who have not tasted these wines owe it to themselves to do so." 96 Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Silvio Nardi Brunello di Montalcino 2017, 0.75L
Sangiovese from Brunello di Montalcino, Tuscany

"This is a beautiful, fresh 2017 Brunello with fine tannins and a medium body of cherry, bark, cedar and pine-needle flavors. It’s long and polished with ultra-fine tannins and fresh acidity. Nicely done for the vintage. Drink or hold." 94 James Suckling

"Tenute Silvio Nardi is an estate worth visiting. It occupies one of the most extreme locations in the appellation, tucked away into the hills north of the town in a wild no-man's-land of its own. Once you get there, there is a cozy, warm feeling, with vineyards carved out of the surrounding Mediterranean shrub oaks and forests. If you taste forest floor, button mushroom and wild flowers in the 2017 Brunello di Montalcino, you could easily imagine this magical place. This is a silky, mid-weight Brunello with a cool-climate character (which is preserved despite the hot vintage). An ample 114,000 bottles are hitting the market now." 93 Monica Larner, Wine Advocate

Tenuta San Guido Guidalberto 2020, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlot from Tuscany, Tuscany

."A forceful and profound Guidalberto that tells the story of the 2020 vintage with a very dark profile reminiscent of black cherry, black plums, dark chocolate, burnt sage, and marjoram. Fresher nuances emerge slowly with the passage of minutes in the glass, proceeding to a progressive balsamic character accented with dried white flowers and mandarin juice fused with green tones reminiscent of peppermint. Full bodied, powerful, and layered on the palate, it demonstrates grace and character within a considerably languid disposition. Gorgeous right from the start, but better after 2024." 94 Points, Raffaele Vecchione, WinesCritic.com

Tenuta Sette Ponti Oreno 2020, 0.75L
Merlot / Cabernet Sauvignon / Petit Verdot from Tuscany, Tuscany

"A red with a layered, velvety texture, showing blackberry and black-olive character, together with some iodine and graphite. Full-bodied and rich with lots of fruit and chewy tannins. Savory. 50% merlot, 40% cabernet sauvignon and 10% petit verdot. Needs two or three years to soften." 97 James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com

98 Raffaele Vecchione

"The great classic of Tenuta Sette Ponti, an incomparable expression of terroir, and one of the best Italian red wines. The vintage 2020 has, if possible, still more tension and concentration, with great persistence ..." 100 Luca Gardini

Val delle Corti Chianti Classico Riserva 2018, 0.75L
Sangiovese from Chianti Classico, Tuscany

“This is an impressive new release from Val delle Corti in Radda in Chianti. With 5,000 bottles released, the 2018 Chianti Classico Riserva shows an immediate level of austerity and complexity that relaxes to display dark fruit, earth, rusty nail and candied orange peel. There is a Pinot-Noiresque quality to this wine that makes it very attractive. I heartily recommend this under-the-radar discovery. Fruit comes from a cool site at 450 meters in elevation with calcareous marl soils with lots of rock. The vines were planted in 1974.” 94 Wine Advocate.

Fongoli Montefalco Sagrantino Fracanton 2015, 0.75L
Sagrantino from Montefalco, Umbria

"The 2015 Montefalco Sagrantino Fracanton takes the vibrant character and depth of Fongoli Montefalco Sagrantino and dials everything up a notch. Like a florist shop on the nose, this is literally bursting with rose and violet perfumes complicated by crushed rocks and tart cherries. Rich with soft contours yet full of life, it’s the tantalizing acidity that really shines here, as it enlivens the ripe red fruits and sweet herbal tones within. Hints of licorice stain the senses throughout the finale, as the 2015 finishes potent yet incredibly fresh. The tannin management here is unbelievable. The fruit for the Fracanton goes through spontaneous fermentation in open-topped clay amphorae without sulfur or temperature control, after which it's matured in large oak botti for another five years." 95+ Points, Eric Guido, Vinous

Lo Triolet Pinot Noir 2018, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Valle d'Aosta, Valle d'Aosta

"With glacier soils and extreme, high-altitude weather, Valle d'Aosta is one of the most difficult places to grow Pinot Noir, not to mention the arduous task of farming its steep slopes. However, the Lo Triolet 2018 Vallée d'Aoste Pinot Noir makes it look easy thanks to the careful balance and delicate varietal flavors inherent to this wine. It reveals blue flower, rosebud, orange peel, nutmeg and crushed stone. This is a silky, polished and lean-bodied expression to celebrate with an aged Formagella from one of Valle d'Aosta's many cheesemaking valleys." 94 Points Monica Larner, The Wine Advocate
