The fruit for our Maggio Family Vineyards wine is sourced entirely from our sustainably farmed, family-owned estate vineyards in Lodi, CA. Lodi enjoys warm days and cool nights which allows the grapes to fully ripen while maintaining their natural acidity.
The 2021 growing season was characterized by the drought’s effects on vineyards in Lodi. There was reduced yield across all varietals with harvest beginning mid August. Quality looks excellent, with higher sugar content and robust natural acidity.
This medium-bodied wine showcases exuberant flavors of ripe black berry and dark cherry. A subtle sweetness with toasted oak highlights the fruit and balances the acidity. Plush tannins, smooth finish.
