Roagna Barolo Pira Vecchie Viti 2019, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Barolo, Piedmont
“The 2019 Barolo Pira Vecchie Viti is one of the most profoundly riveting, beautiful wines I have ever tasted here. Interestingly, this is more open than the straight Pira because of its inner perfume and sweetness. Hard candy, rose petals, mint, orange peel and kirsch all race across the palate. The 2019 is just dazzling. There's not much to say.” 99, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Sep 2024
“The Roagna 2019 Barolo Pira Vecchie Viti comes from a 1.5-hectare plot with vines planted in 1937. Part of the vineyard is on its original roots, and some of the ungrafted vines were reproduced by using the shoots of a mother vine buried underground, thus creating a new plant. The site tends to be among the last to harvest in October. This is an incredible expression of Nebbiolo, fluid and luminous. It changes constantly with delicate swirls. However, you also feel the power and intensity of a concentrated vintage. The bouquet opens to a hint of something botanical with flowers and fresh mint that give enormous vertical lift to the wine. Luca Roagna tells me that wild mint does in fact grow throughout the vineyard, and when he drives his tractor through the rows, he is reminded of an exotic mojito cocktail.” 98, Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, Jan 2025

Roagna Barbaresco Paje 2019, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Barbaresco, Piedmont
"Luca Roagna's father was born in 1953, and that year also marks the first vintage this wine was produced by Luca's grandfather Alfredo, who was deeply convinced by the potential of this vineyard and went into deep financial debt after the war in order to purchase this land. The 2019 Barbaresco Pajè is muscular and firm with dark fruit and grippy tannins. There is a chalky quality that reflects the site's limestone soils. Delivering ample heft and dimension, this is a wine of substance." 96, Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, Jan 2025

Nicolas Maillet Macon Verze Le Chemin Blanc 2021, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Mâcon-Verzé, Burgundy
“The 2021 Mâcon-Verzé Le Chemin Blanc has a simple nose of apple peeling and Conference pear aromas but needs a little more energy. The palate is peachy on the entry with fine acidity, but it lacks some complexity, and as such, it amounts to a decent commercial Mâconnais, no more. Tasted blind at the BIVB tasting. (Drink between 2023-2027)”. Neal Martin, Vinous, Aug 2023

Le Domaine d'Henri Chablis Saint Pierre 2021, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Chablis, Burgundy
“The 2021 Chablis Saint Pierre is MIA on the nose. Nothing there, really. The palate is better with very primal green apple and citrus fruit, but overall, it lacks some tension and drifts away innocuously on the finish. (Drink between 2023-2025)”. Neal Martin, Vinous, Sep 2023

Georges Laval Garennes 13-21 Extra Brut NV, 0.75L
Chardonnay / Pinot Meunier / Pinot Noir from Garennes, Champagne
"The NV Extra Brut Garennes 13-21 is a blend of Pinots Noir and Meunier and Chardonnay from 2013 through to 2021 from Chambrecy, Damery, Cumières and Hauvillers. The scented nose gives hints of plum and tart but ripe, red apple with rounded, smooth, creamy oakiness. Frothy mousse expands on a salty, profound body that exudes chalk, tart apple flesh and even more salty sourdough crumb. Beautifully taut, wonderfully stony and with a real, beautiful and bracing line of freshness. Bright, savory and with proper length. Dosage is 1gr/L." 94 Anne Krebiehl MW, Vinous

Racines Pinot Noir Sta. Rita Hills Cuvée 2020, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Sta. Rita Hills, California
"The 2020 Pinot Noir Sta. Rita Hills Cuvée is a terrific introduction to the range. Crushed red berry fruit, mint, spice, rose petal and a touch of whole cluster savoriness are all beautifully delineated. This is such a gorgeous and expressive Pinot." 93 Antonio Galloni, Vinous
"Aromas of strawberry fruit leather give way to notes of turned earth and crushed black basalt. The palate is savoury, with underlying dried fruit flavours. Montmorency cherries, garden soil and clove, evolve into notes of savoury herbs and streaks of graphite minerality." 93 Clive Pursehouse, Decanter Magazine

Racines Chardonnay Sta. Rita Hills Cuvée 2020, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Sta. Rita Hills, California
"A wonderfully complex wine with ample texture. The Sta Rita Hills Cuvée is sourced from some of Santa Barbara's top Chardonnay sites. The wine sees very little new oak and, as a result, shines forth with delicate brilliance—classically cool climate Chardonnay aromatics of soft white florals, crushed chalk and a touch of mint. The palate has verve and energy with savoury petrichor-driven minerality coming to the fore, followed on by bruised apples, a touch of cardamom and honey to finish adding depth and complexity along the way." 93 Clive Pursehouse, Decanter Magazine

de Montille Volnay En Champans 2021, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Volnay, Burgundy
"The 2021 Volnay En Champans 1er Cru has a very attractive bouquet with brambly, red berry fruit, white pepper and sous-bois scents, nicely focused with a subtle garrigues note. The palate is medium--bodied with depth, crisp and lively with a healthy dash of white pepper. Well-focused and harmonious, this is a fine Volnay Champans." 90-92, Neal Martin, Vinous, Nov 2022

Montenidoli Extra Virgin Olive Oil 2022, 0.5L
Olive Oil from San Gimignano, Tuscany
"Olives have been grown at Montenidoli since Etruscan time. We currently grow the Moraiolo and Correggiolo varieties; the former provides body, the latter perfume. Our olive trees are organically grown and pruned yearly. The harvest, by hand, begins in November and continues until just before Christmas. Our EVO [extra virgin olive] oil is in fact extra extra virgin: at the time of pressing its acidity is less than 0.20%, which is far below the 1% maximum allowed acidity for EVO oils. Montenidoli’s EVO oil emerges from the presses opaque and brash, with powerful vegetal aromas. Throughout its youth, it remains strongly flavored, with pronounced artichoke accents that make it more of a food to be served over bread than a condiment. Our EVO oil is extremely healthy; It’s an excellent source of good (LDL) cholesterol and is rich in vitamins." Montenidoli

Tre Monti Thea Sangiovese di Romagna Superiore Riserva 2019, 0.75L
Sangiovese from Sangiovese di Romagna Superiore Riserva, Emilia Romagna
"The 2019 Sangiovese Romagna Superiore Thea opens slowly in the glass with an understated mix of sage and dusty dried roses, giving way to nuances of strawberry and mint. This is silky and elegant in feel with mineral-tinged tart wild berries carried by zesty acids, as pretty inner violet tones form toward the close. A coating of fine tannins lingers through the lightly structured finale, but they are sweet and round as vivid raspberry and blood orange notes slowly fade. The Thea is a single-vineyard Sangiovese refined in tonneaux for nine months, 40% new. The 2019 is very attractive, but give it another year or two of cellaring for the best results. (Drink between 2024-2028)" 92 Eric Guido, Vinous

Arnot-Roberts Chardonnay Watson Ranch 2022, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Napa Valley, California
"...Soils at Watson Ranch are composed of calcareous clay over limestone. This soil type is extremely rare on the North Coast but shows itself in a narrow fin at the tail end of the Vaca Mountains in Southern Napa County. This fractured, well-drained calcareous soil, coupled with organic farming and cool windy conditions, imbue this parcel with great potential to produce world-class Chardonnay. The fruit we harvest each year from Watson is consistently textural and vibrant with underpinnings of ample natural acidity and salinity." Producer Notes

Guilhem et Jean Hughes Goisot Saint Bris Corps de Garde Blanc 2020, 0.75L
Sauvignon Gris from Saint-Bris, Burgundy
"Grown at mid slope with more clay, all sauvignon gris which copes with the heat better. Clear crisp lemon and lime. Fresh yet with an evident sense of white fruit concentration. Massive intensity here, a little citrus to finish, slightly spicy and fuller bodied. The Corps de Garde is currently showing youthful bitterness, and amazing length." 91, Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy

Vinedos del Jorco Las Enebradas Navalgordo 2017, 0.75L
Grenache from Paraje del Jorco, Castilla y León
"I was really looking forward to the 2017 Las Enebradas, because the first vintage, 2016, was the revelation of my last review of the zone of Gredos. I was quite surprised because the profile is very different: the wine has a lot more color and up to 2% more alcohol. Nacho Jiménez, one of the partners, explained that the profile of the 2016 vintage was exceptional and hard to replicate, as yields were higher and it rained just before they picked the grapes, so the wine is a lot lighter. 2017 was very different, a lot warmer and with lower yields, and the grapes delivered a concentrated juice with a lot more color, tannin and alcohol. It has a more Mediterranean profile, more in line with the rest of the wines. This fermented with 50% full clusters and temperature control and matured in one 500-liter oak barrel. Despite the higher ripeness and the headier character, the wines from Navatalgordo have a different texture and fine thread, the finesse of a cooler place and sandy soils at higher altitude (even if the vines are south-facing here), and you see it when tasting this next to the wines from Cebreros. It's more elegant and fresher. 570 bottles were filled in August 2019." 93 Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate

Antichi Vigneti di Cantalupo Ghemme Collis Breclemae 2015, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Ghemme, Piedmont
"The 2015 Ghemme Collis Breclemae is going to be gorgeous, but it needs time, as it is going through and adolescent phase at present. Brooding and somber, with quite a bit of complexity, the 2015 certainly has a ton to offer. Wild cherry, tobacco, spice, leather and cedar all build as this powerful, strapping Ghemme slowly opens. All the 2015 needs is cellaring to be at its most expressive. (Drink between 2025-2040)" 93 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Vinas Serranas El Canchorral 2019, 0.75L
Rufete from Castilla y León, Castilla y León
"The 2019 El Canchorral is a blend of Calabrés (Garnacha), Aragonés (Tempranillo), Verdejo Negro, Rufete Blanco, Palomino, Moscatel and other grapes planted 85 years ago on degraded pink granite soils. This is the only wine that ferments with 100% full clusters. It has a lot of white grapes and is more floral, with less alcohol (it's 13.5% even in this riper year), more acidity and a lower pH. It is more floral à la Fleury and very expressive, as they can use very low doses of sulfur in this wine given its higher natural acidity (possibly because of the white grapes). This comes from a very old vineyard, and the varieties feel very integrated and complement each other. It comes through as complex and nuanced, a little riper and showier than the 2018. The palate reflects the effect of the stems in the vinification a little. All of these single-vineyard wines matured in used oak barrels for some 15 months in 2019. Around 1,500 bottles were filled in May 2021." 94 Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate

Luigi Baudana Barolo Baudana 2017, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Barolo, Piedmont
"The 2017 Barolo Baudana is such a gorgeous wine. It, too conveys the power of Serralunga, but with a bit less heft than is typically the case. Sweet dark cherry, iron, cedar, rose petal, mint and white pepper give the 2017 its effusive, inviting personality. This is such a tremendous showing.
