“This is also firmly reduced and unreadable at present. Otherwise, there is excellent underlying tension to the stony and precise middleweight flavors that display good length on the clean and dry but not really austere finale. This will need to develop better depth to merit the upper end of my projected range”. 89-92, Allen Meadows, Burghound, Jun 2024

“Here too there is enough reduction to overshadow the fruit. By contrast, there is both good verve and freshness to the caressing and beautifully textured flavors that also flash ample minerality on the youthfully austere bitter zest-inflected finale. This is very good for a villages-level wine and one that should age gracefully”. 89-91, Allen Meadows, Burghound, Jun 2024

Domaine de Cambes 2019, 0.75L
Merlot / Cabernet Franc from Bordeaux, Bordeaux
"Also from the team at Tertre Roteboeuf and based on 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, the 2019 Domaine De Cambes shows a more tight, focused style compared to the Roc de Cambes Giving up opulent red, black, and blue fruit as well as subtle oak, plenty of minerality, notes of spice and violets, and a great, great finish, it might be the best of the trio (Domaine de l'Aurage, Roc de Cambes, and Domaine de Cambes)." 93-95, Jeb Dunnuck, Jun 2020
“The 2019 Domaine des Cambes is bursting at the seams with super-ripe dark cherry, plum, espresso, licorice, menthol and chocolate. This rich, boisterous Blaye is full of energy. There's real depth and energy here, not to mention tons of character. Dried herb, leather, cedar and tobacco linger on the ample, beautifully textured finish.” 93, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jan 2022

Lafleur Les Perrieres 2022, 0.75L
Cabernet Franc / Merlot from Bordeaux Supérieur, Bordeaux
*Pre-Arrival* - ETA January 2025
"The 2022 Les Perrières de Lafleur shows just how adapted this higher-altitude site on the plateau of Fronsac is to warmer vintages. Wafting from the glass with aromas of mulberries and raspberries, sweet spices and rose petals, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and layered, with racy acids and a taut, mineral profile. It's another brilliant effort from this visionary project." 94-96 William Kelley, Wine Advocate
"The 2022 Les Perrieres De Lafleur comes from pure limestone soils (the same as in Saint-Emilion) and is 50% Merlot and 50% Bouschet. Its deep purple hue is followed by a Cabernet Franc-driven wine offering pure red and blue fruits as well as lots of floral, violet, and forest floor-like aromas and flavors. It's another medium to full-bodied, pure, seamless, impeccably balanced wine from this team that knocks it out of the park in the vintage. This is pure Fronsac brilliance." 94-96 Jeb Dunnuck

"Apple, pineapple, mango, apricot, pear, blossom, clean and flinty aromas. Fresh and bright, forward, well built - so energetic and vibrant but controlled, not too much acidity or sharpness. Great aromatic complexity as well as a comforting juiciness with depth as well as vibrancy with saline, ginger, lemon balm and pineapple flavours. “The 2022 Sauvignon Blanc Presquile is an absolutely gorgeous wine that marries the richness of the year with the more savory notes that are so typical of this site. Fermenting and aging in oak, with full malolactic fermentation, works so well here. Ryan Pace and Natalie Siddique continue to expand their range, which is great to see, as the wines are compelling. The transparent, highly nuanced wines capture the essence of top sites in and around Santa Barbara. There’s a level of purity here I always find compelling.” 93, Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Val delle Corti Chianti Classico Riserva 2018, 0.75L
Sangiovese from Chianti Classico, Tuscany
“This is an impressive new release from Val delle Corti in Radda in Chianti. With 5,000 bottles released, the 2018 Chianti Classico Riserva shows an immediate level of austerity and complexity that relaxes to display dark fruit, earth, rusty nail and candied orange peel. There is a Pinot-Noiresque quality to this wine that makes it very attractive. I heartily recommend this under-the-radar discovery. Fruit comes from a cool site at 450 meters in elevation with calcareous marl soils with lots of rock. The vines were planted in 1974.” 94 Wine Advocate.

Clos Manou 2019, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlot / Petit Verdot from Médoc, Bordeaux
"From an 18-hectare estate planted at a density of around 10,000 vines per hectare, the 2019 Clos Manou is a serious wine. Unwinding in the glass with aromas of dark berry fruit, cigar wrapper, licorice and espresso roast, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and layered, with terrific concentration, lively acids and plenty of ripe, powdery tannin that will reward a bit of bottle age. It's closed with an Ardeaseal technical cork as used by Burgundy's Domaine Ponsot among others. This estate merits a mention in any list of Bordeaux's finest under-the-radar producers." 92+ William Kelley, Wine Advocate
"The 2019 Clos Manou has a ripe, extroverted bouquet of black cherries, mulberry, rose petal and slight confit aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with juicy ripe tannins, fleshy and generous. The smooth, spicy, voluminous finish is irresistible. Can I say "yummy" in a professional note? Yummy. (Drink between 2024-2035)" 92 Neal Martin, Vinous.com

Domaine de Cambes 2020, 0.75L
Merlot / Cabernet Franc from Bordeaux, Bordeaux
"The 2020 Domaine de Cambes is a gorgeous, luxuriously deep wine done in Francois Mitjavile's gently oxidative, concentrated style. Sumptuous black cherry, plum, chocolate, espresso and licorice all meld together. Pliant and supple, with generous fruit, Domaine de Cambes is so expressive today. Like many 2020s, it is a bit tight, but that should not be an issue in another few years' time. The purity of the flavors is compelling." 94 Antonio Galloni, Vinous
"Coming from the Côtes-de-Bourg appellation on the Right Bank and an estate owned the Mitjavile family of Le Tertre-Rôteboeuf , the 2020 Domaine de Cambes is another beautiful wine from this team that has a singular style. Redcurrants, plums, mulled cherries, spicy oak, cigar, and chocolate notes define the bouquet, and it's medium to full-bodied, with supple, soft tannins and a great finish. It's a softer, more approachable wine compared to the more structured Roc de Cambes, although both are brilliant wines." 93 Jeb Dunnuck

Gonet Medeville Blanc De Noirs Premier Cru NV, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Champagne, Champagne
". . . showing very well, offering up an appealing bouquet of crisp golden orchard fruit, honeycomb, warm biscuits and dried white flowers. On the palate, it's full-bodied, broad and vinous, with ripe but racy acids, good depth at the core and a delicate mousse. Concentrated and structured, another year on the cork will be rewarded by additional complexity, even though this is approachable now." 93 William Kelley, Wine Advocate
"Pale gold with a strong mousse. Intensely mineral nose displays Meyer lemon, lime, green apple, pungent herbs and chalky minerals. Clean and finely etched, with energetic citrus, anise and wet stone flavors underscored by honeysuckle and quinine. An uncompromising Champagne that delivers impressive finishing lift, cut and persistence. There's no way that I'd have guessed this wine was made entirely from red grapes." 92 Josh Raynolds, Vinous

Château de Fosse-Sèche Laurasie Rouge 2019, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon from Saumur, Loire
"Darker in its ruby color, the 2019 Laurasie is a pure Cabernet Sauvignon from almost 20-year-old vines on the stony Jurassic plateau of Fosse-Sèche, where yields are not bigger than 20 hectoliters per hectare. This is fleshy and concentrated yet pure, fresh and elegant on the deep, terroir-driven and beautifully floral (violets) as well as graphitic nose that is absolutely distinctive in its delicate, pure and balanced style. Black and blue berries, dark cherries, green paprika, pencil lead and herbal, wet gravelly notes lead to a medium to full-bodied, highly elegant, refined and perfectly balanced palate that exhibits perfectly ripe, round and juicy fruit with a firm but ripe, very fine and elegant tannin/acidity complex. The finish of this concentrated red is tight, intense and spicy, showing black berry and chocolate as well as graphite and coal with dark cherry notes. Irresistible and, in 2019, possibly the finest wine from Fosse-Sèche. The wine was aged for 12 months in concrete eggs. Tasted in January 2021." 94 Points, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate
