"Healthy dark red. A bit darker in fruit quality on the nose than the preceding samples but quite closed, offering hints of cherry and menthol. Broad, rich, saline wine in a rather masculine style; less silky than the Caillerets, with its currant fruit edged by spices and pepper. Bitouzet uses a different barrel supplier for this wine and it shows in the firm, dusty tannins. But this has the energy and length to reward mid-term cellaring." |
