“More restrained on the nose than the Vers Pouilly but very ripe and deep, offering complex scents of soft citrus fruits, peach pit and flesh, nuts, menthol, white pepper and minerals. Large-scaled, plush and deep but with lovely minerality and well-integrated acidity enabling the wine to maintain its balance. Still holding plenty in reserve, this big boy will need time in bottle to absorb its baby fat and alcohol. Makes the Vers Pouilly seem almost tart by comparison. I like this wine's combination of sucrosité and underlying structure.” |
