"COMMENTARY: Since the early 1970s, Chappellet Vineyard has been one an excellent champion of Bordeaux styled red wines. The 2016 Chappellet Mountain Cuvée—a thoughtful blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon, some Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot, and a smidgeon of Cabernet Franc—is as fine an example of this genre. TASTING NOTES: This wine exhibits focused aromas and flavors of black fruits, graphite, and chalk. Its full and well-balanced frame should pair it well with a well-marbled ribeye." |
