"Not yet bottled, the 2016 No. 5 is a similar blend and is 91% Syrah, 6% Mourvèdre and 3% Viognier that will see just under two years in 70% new French oak. It offers slightly more stem characteristics with a La Mouline-like perfume of bacon fat, pepper, blackberries, earth, and chocolate. Deep, full-bodied, opulent and hedonistic, yet pure, elegant and structured, it's unquestionably another brilliant wine from Jim." |
