"Palish medium red. Salty aromas of strawberry, mocha and crushed stone enlivened by a peppery stem component. Juicy, fine-grained and uncompromisingly dry, conveying a strong impression of terroir. Distinctly red flavors of raspberry, red cherry and strawberry display sneaky saline intensity and umami character. Finishes with palate-staining persistence and a light touch. This wine and the Grand Père were aged in used 500-liter barrels. (from a south-facing parcel on limestone soil with rocks in the Villa Bastías vineyard; vinified entirely with whole clusters)" |
