"The 2018 Cabernet Franc is dark, rich and super-expressive. Dark cherry, plum, mocha, leather, licorice and a whole range of floral/savory notes show tremendous depth. Despite having been bottled just prior to this tasting, the 2018 is incredibly appealing. The combination of intense fruit and the classically-leaning style favored by Lieu Dit yields a Franc of real distinction. In the early going, the sulfured version is a bit more expressive than the Sans Soufre, which is unusual, as the opposite is usually true." |
