"Tasted from a screwcap bottle, though a cork option is also available. Vinified and matured in foudre, and bottled on 22nd August. Long slow fermentation this year. I have some experience of this cuvée from Frantz Chagnoleau and this is the finest example to date. It is not one of those Mâcons of which one might say ‘it tastes like a mini-Meursault., but it is impeccably balanced and indeed a perfect expression of Mâcon-Villages. Pale lemon and lime in colour with a classy, precise bouquet. Very balanced, pure with some lively stone fruit. Fresh apples and a little citrus-lime note at the back, but the flesh stops this coming across as austere. Fine long finish. Bravo." |
