"An alpine-inspired blend of pepper-tinged florals, sage and flinty crushed rocks gives way to notes of lavender and raspberry as the 2020 Cornalin Vigne Rovettaz blossoms in the glass. This fleshes out across the palate with silky textures and ripe red fruits under an air of rosy inner florals. Its brisk acids maintain marvelous freshness, lasting throughout the long finale, where violet shades and hints of blueberry linger. The Cornalin Vigne Rovettaz is built on finesse yet has depth and underlying power. The Grosjean family continues to be one of the quality leaders of traditionally-styled Valle d'Asota wines, presenting a portfolio that is consistently reliable. The family farms seven hectares through organic principles around the towns of Quart and Saint Christophe. The Grosjeans are also one of the first producers in the region to begin naming the crus that created each unique expression. The varieties they farm run the traditional gamut of Valle d'Aosta wines yet is rounded out with Pinot Noir, which I believe is some of the best being produced in the region." |
