“Scheduled to hit the market in October, the 2022 Barbera D'Alba is a bright ruby color and keeps remarkably fresh on the nose, with notes of wild black raspberries and fresh flowers. Certainly at the top level of where Barbera generally performs, its freshness and buoyancy are followed by silky tannins and a seamless structure on the palate, with a bit of warmth and lovely notes of tea leaf on its fresh finish. This is a stunning and truly delicious Barbera. Open and drinking well now, it’s going to have a wide drinking window. Drink 2024-2040.” |

“The 2022 Barbera d'Alba Vigna Francia is a delicate, understated wine, surprisingly so in this intensely warm, dry year. Sweet red-toned cherry/plum fruit, blood orange and floral top notes are beautifully delineated. Silky tannins wrap it all together in style. I expected to see a more opulent Barbera here.
