"The 2019 Syrah Sierra Mar captures all of the personality of this breathtaking Santa Lucia Highlands site. Inky blue/purplish fruit, lavender, mint, white flowers and juniper berries literally explode from the glass. The aromatics alone are mesmerizing. There's quite a bit of tannin, so a few years in bottle is advisable. Readers will find much to admire in this set of 2019s from Carlisle. The 2019s are a bit more opulent and forward than the 2018s, so most of these wines will be ready to drink with minimal cellaring. It’s hard to pick favorites ..." |
