“The 2021 Bonnes-Mares from Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier is a stunning wine in the making. The sappy nose soars from the glass in a beautifully transparent blend of cherries, red plums, raw cocoa, pigeon, a complex base of chalky soil tones, woodsmoke, a touch of mustard seed and a deft framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied, soil-driven and sports superb depth at the core, with lovely focus and complexity, fine-grained tannins and a very long, refined and seamlessly balanced finish. Great juice. (Drink between 2036-2100).” |
