Lot #2. Domaine Dujac Clos de la Roche 1990

Description: Consists of 1 Bottle, 0.75L
Score: 97 AM.
"(Note that some labels, and the associated corks, carry the indication of Clos la Roche on them which is how this most recent bottle was labeled). All but bricked through. I've experienced more than a little bottle variation with this wine as some are quite aromatically advanced with noticeable secondary notes and even a trace of sous-bois that leads to rich, full and sweet, moderately complex flavors carrying some slightly astringent tannins on the long finish. However, the best bottles are absolutely stunning with soaring and fully-mature kaleidoscopically complex aromatics that display no trace of over ripe or post mature notes as they complement to perfection the wonderfully rich, seductively sweet and powerful broad-shouldered flavors that retain a fine sense of elegance while delivering excellent finishing punch and persistence. As noted, while I have certainly experienced some bottle variation, at its finest this is nothing short of brilliant and note that if well-stored the '90 Clos de la Roche is a wine that should continue to deliver stunningly good drinking for years to come." Notes: 2cm, Lightly damp stained, nicked, scuffed, lightly faded label.
