96 JG. "The Marquis de Laguiche Montrachet was still in cask as well at the time of my visit, resting comfortably on its fine lees. The 2013 is going to be magnificent, as the nicely reserved bouquet offers up a superb constellation of pear, lemon, a touch of tangerine, complex chalky soils, incipient notes of crème patissière, lemon blossoms and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and focused, with a superb core of fruit, fine balance and grip, plenty of backend nervosité and outstanding length and grip on the laser-like and youthful finish. A beautiful wine in the making." John Gilman, View From the Cellar #54, Dec 2014 |
