88+ RP. "Dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon (62%), the 2006 Murasaki (the Japanese word for purple) also includes 22% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, and 11% Petit Verdot in the blend. Made in a leaner, more austere style, it could pass for a Bordeaux in a blind tasting. Structured, tannic, herbal, and lean, it boasts a sumptuous perfume as well as excellent length. I suspect it needs a few years of bottle age before more of its character reveals itself. These are very well made, but also very expensive wines." The Wine Advocate #180, Dec 2008 |
