91 WA. "The inky colored 2013 Languedoc-La Clape Grand Vin offers tons of potential, yet is reserved and closed in at the moment and needs a year or two in bottle. Made from 55% Mourvèdre, 30% Syrah, 10% Grenache and the balance Carignan, it has terrific notes of cassis and black raspberries intermixed with licorice, sweet oak and subtle minerality. Completely destemmed and aged in one-year-old barrels, this beauty is nicely concentrated, elegant and has medium-bodied weight and fine tannin . . ." Wine Advocate #224, Apr 2016 |
