Albert Boxler Riesling Grand Cru Sommerberg Eckberg 2015, 0.75L
Riesling from Niedermorschwihr, Alsace

“The 2015 Riesling Grand Cru Sommerberg Eckberg has a clear, fresh, mineral and highly delicate nose with concentrated white stone fruit but also flinty/stony aromas. Lemon flavors are here as well, but they are concentrated as in a chutney or a cake. Rich, lush, intense and beautifully concentrated (seamless) on the palate, with a lingering minerality, this is another gorgeous Riesling from Jean Boxler. Its finish is lean and finessed but also ripe, concentrated, rich, elegant and endlessly salty. There seems to be some sweetness, but the fine tannins, the body, concentration and finesse balance it perfectly. This Eckberg is fine and rich at the same time. A fascinating Riesling!” Wine Advocate 96 Points

Figeac 2009, 0.75L
Merlot / Cabernet Franc / Cabernet Sauvignon from St. Emilion, Bordeaux

"Distinctive, with atypical (for St.-Emilion) force and drive to the black currant, roasted cedar and maduro tobacco flavors, which are supported by a dense, loam-tinged structure. Terrific roasted espresso, ganache and fig paste notes wait in reserve. Very muscular, but with the cut for balance." 96 Points Wine Spectator

Pavie Decesse 1998, 0.75L
from St. Emilion, Bordeaux

"The 1998 Pavie Decesse is medium to deep garnet-brick in color and explodes with fabulous plum pudding, prunes, blackberry preserves and blueberry pie notes with hints of smoked meats, garrigue, dusty soil, cast iron pan and star anise with dried roses and cinnamon stick wafts. Full-bodied, concentrated and packed with rich exotic spice and black fruit preserves layers, it has loads of mineral and meat sparks and a very, very long, layered finish. Incredible!" Wine Advocate 96 Points

"What glorious aroma. It's so clean and focused, with crushed raspberry and blackberry on the nose and hints of oak barrels. Full-bodied, with chewy tannins and lots of fruit. Big and powerful and very young. Give it time; it's getting better and better." Wine Spectator 93 Points

Pavillon Blanc du Château Margaux. 2015, 0.75L
Sauvignon Blanc from Margaux, Bordeaux

"Margaux's 2015 Pavillon Blanc is superb. Remarkably pure and crystalline, especially for the year, the Pavillon Blanc proves to be utterly irresistible. Lemon peel, white flowers, crushed rocks, mint and a hint of reduction develop in the glass, but it is the wine's energy that is most alluring. The intensely saline, nuanced finish only reinforces the impression of translucent purity. Readers who own the 2015 are going to be thrilled, as it is a truly magical wine." 96 Points Antonio Galloni

Hudelot-Noëllat Romanée-Saint-Vivant 2016, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Vosne Romanee, Burgundy

"The 2016 Romanée-St.-Vivant from Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat is quite black fruity this year, but perfumed, elegant and soil-driven at the same time and this is going to be a superb example of the vintage. The bouquet wafts from the glass in a youthful blend of back raspberries, sweet dark berries, a lovely base of minerality, dark chocolate, a touch of fresh nutmeg, gamebird and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied, long and velvety, with a superb core, lovely focus and grip, fine-grained tannins and a long, vibrant and very elegant finish. Fine, fine juice." 96 Points John Gilman, View From the Cellar

Grenache / Syrah / Mourvèdre from Chateauneuf du Pape, Rhône

"This is 70% grenache with the remainder equal parts syrah and mourvèdre. Aromas of ripe raspberry, red plum and cherry, with herbs, pepper and a whole bunch of sappiness, too. The palate has radiant, regal tannins in fine proportion. Super fresh." 96 Points James Suckling

Domaine Saint-Damien Gigondas La Louisiane Vieilles Vignes 2016, 0.75L
Grenache / Mouvedre / Syrah / Counoise from Gigondas, Rhône

"Deeply colored, the 2016 Gigondas La Louisiane comes from single vineyard on the lower plain, not far from the estate, and is 80% Grenache, 15% Mourvèdre, and the balance Syrah and Cinsault. It offers a classic bouquet of dark berry fruits, peppery herbs, garrigue, and obvious minerality. Reminding me of the 2010 with its pure, straight style, it’s full-bodied and elegant on the palate, and is going to benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age." 96 Points Jeb Dunnuck

It's full-bodied, ultra-pure, seamless and silky, with no hard edges and beautiful balance. Donnhoff Niederhauser Hermannshohle Riesling Auslese Goldkapsel #18 2017, 0.75L
Riesling from Niederhausen, Nahe

"The 2017 Hermannshöhle Auslese Gold Kap has about the same ratio of botrytis to golden berries as the Brücke Auslese in this vintage and offers up a beautiful, gently glazed and quite complex nose of white cherries, clementine, slate, honey, orange zest and just a hint of saltiness from its excellent extract. On the palate the wine is medium-full, elegant in profile and very vibrant in structure, with a lovely core, excellent focus and grip and a very, very long, zesty and perfectly balanced finish. Great juice that will age for decades and decades, but will want at least a year or two more in the cellar than the Brücke Auslese before it starts to really blossom". John Gilman 96 points

Elio Grasso Barolo Ginestra Casa Matè 2015, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Barolo, Piedmont

"Grasso's 2015 Barolo Ginestra Casa Matè is a dense, full-bodied Barolo that is going to need at least a few years to start unwinding. Dark fruit and a host of mentholated, balsamic notes all run through the 2015. Broad shoulders and tons of depth give the wine its distinctive feel. The Ginestra Casa Matè is usually more expressive at this stage than it is today. Time in the glass soften some of the edges, but the 2015 is a wine to cellar and then drink for the next 20-30 years. There is so much to look forward to."96 Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Felsina Berardenga Chianti Classico Riserva Rancia 2016, 0.375L
Sangiovese from Chianti Classico, Tuscany

"The 2016 Chianti Classico Riserva Rancia knocks it out of the park. Like the other new releases from Fèlsina, this pure expression of Sangiovese needs more time to evolve and improve with bottle age. But even at this young stage, you are made fully aware of the beautiful intensity and complexity of the quality fruit at its core. There is so much energy and tension here, further reinforced by the fresh acidity of the vintage. There are vibrant tones of wild cherry, raspberry and spice, followed up by white truffle and tilled earth." 96 Points Monica Larner, Wine Advocate

Bodegas Tradición Palo Cortado VORS 30 Years NV, 0.75L
Palomino from Jerez, Andalucía

"Tradición has built a strong reputation as caretaker of some of the region’s most unusual old wines. This Palo Cortado, for example, comes from wines an average of 32 years old, in an oxidative process that seems to have removed everything superfluous, leaving only the essentials. It smells and tastes of sea breezes and albariza soil as white as chalk. Intense and slightly spicy, it attacks the palate with its vibrant acidity, the firm texture filled out with notes of nuts and green olives. Open the bottle to drink it over the course of a month, or maybe a year. Keep it in a cool, dark place and see what wonders oxygen will bring." 96 Wine & Spirits Magazine

La Vizcaina (Raúl Pérez) Bierzo La Vitoriana 2016, 0.75L
Mencia from Bierzo, Castilla y León

"The vines at La Vitoriana are from a north-facing part of the vineyard and are extremely old, and the grapes show their best between 13% and 13.5% alcohol. The maceration of the 2016 La Vizcaína La Vitoriana is the longest of all wines from La Vizcaína wines, and it always has very strong balsamic notes. It's subtle and elegant with a velvety texture, with lots of energy and inner strength. Pérez selects about half of the vineyard, and he feels 2016 is the year that best represents the character of the place. I'd add it's probably the best vintage so far. 3,000 bottles produced." 96 Points Luis Gutierrez, Wine Advocate

Bond Pluribus 2005, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlot / Cabernet Franc / Petit Verdot from Spring Mountain District, California

"The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Pluribus is from a relatively high-elevation vineyard on the steep slopes of Spring Mountain and planted in the white Tufa volcanic bedrock of that area. This is the most northern vineyard of the Bond Estates, and this wine was just incredible. By far, the biggest, most backward and massive of all the 2005s, this wine behaved as if it were three or four years old, rather than ten. Dense purple, it offers notes of blueberry liqueur, St.-Estèphe-like earth, licorice and a gravelly note with incredible depth, lots of blackberries, and a finish that goes on for 45+ seconds. This is incredibly youthful and dominated by the blue and black fruits that are so much a part of the Spring Mountain AVA. This wine needs another 3-4 years of cellaring and should keep for 30-40+ years and turn out to be a fabulous classic from Bond Estate. All of these wines are made in relatively limited quantities, and primarily sold via the winery mailing list." 98+ Points Robert M. Parker Jr.

Bryant Family Vineyard Bettina 2016, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlot / Cabernetr franc / Petit Verdot from Napa Valley, California

"Dark, sumptuous and beautifully textured in the glass, the 2016 Bettina is positively stellar. All the elements come together effortlessly in the glass. Crème de cassis, blueberry jam, spice, new leather and menthol develop, but it is the wine's exceptional balance and breeding that stand out most. Medium in body and super-refined, the 2016 is a real pleasure to taste today. As a reminder, the Bettina is a blend made from various David Abreu vineyards." 96 Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Forman Cabernet Sauvignon 2015, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, California

"The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon is dense, pliant and wonderfully expressive. Ric Forman's wines are always on the restrained side, but the 2015 packs a good bit of punch. Sweet red cherry, raspberry, sage, mint, and rose petal overtones all add to the wine's precision and nuance. In 2015, Forman took in fruit from Thorevilos, which he co-manages with David Abreu, but ultimately decided to add that juice to the Cabernet Sauvignon rather than bottle it separately. Dollops of Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec round out the blend. This is one of the classiest wines of the vintage." 96 Points Antonio Galloni

Heitz Cellar Cabernet Sauvignon Martha`s Vineyard 1987, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon from Oakville, California

"The 1987 Martha’s Vineyard hails back to the time when the labels stated 13.5 percent alcohol, and in this most recent vertical tasting of the wine, one did get a strong sense that this vintage and earlier were indeed just a tad less ripe than subsequent vintages. This slightly lower octane seems to allow an even stronger signature of soil to infuse the wines. The 1987 Martha’s is a great, great wine that seems to have been lost a bit in the shuffle when it was released, as it followed on the heels of the specially labeled 1985. The bouquet is deep and absolutely stunning, as it delivers a complex blend of black cherries, mint, a touch of chocolate, Rutherford dust, pretty mineral tones and an exotic topnote of allspice. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very pure and transparent, with a seamless attack, a sappy core, and great length and grip on the tangy and perfectly poised finish. A great vintage of Martha’s that is a bit undeservedly overlooked in the pantheon of Martha’s Vineyard bottlings." 96 Points John Gilman

Lail Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Blueprint 2016, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, California

"This is a stunningly beautiful wine at this price point, age-worthy and complex, it will stay with you long after it's gone. Opening in cedar, clove and cinnamon, it follows with a dusting of cocoa powder and toasted oak, before it offers a lingering thread of mineral in the form of crushed rock, violet, red and black currant. Structured as it goes, it finishes soft and silky. This is a wine for the cellar as well." 94 Points Wine Enthusiast

Schrader Cabernet Sauvignon RBS Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard 2009, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon from Oakville, California

"The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon RBS Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard comes across as dark, plush and inviting, but with greater inner focus and minerality than some of the other wines here. Graphite, smoke, tar and licorice are some of the notes that wrap around the intense, juicy finish. I especially admire the way the RBS grows in the glass as it turns more explosive over time, yet never loses its more refined shades of expression. The RBS is 100% clone 337 from the B1 and B2 blocks. According to winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown, it is the addition of fruit from B2 (new this year) that gives the 2009 much of its personality." 96 Points Wine Advocate

WhistlePig Straight Rye Whiskey 10 Years Old NV, 0.75L
Rye Whiskey from Addison County, Vermont

"First, a warning: this is only for those who like their rye big and brawny. It starts off innocuously with a maple-syrup color, and a pretty, complex and subtle scent: honey, vanilla, a sight medicinal tinge and faint clover notes. It feels silky on the tongue and at first, the flavors reflect caramel, burnt orange and a whisper of smoke, but then a mouth-warming wave of tannic bite sweeps over all and lingers for a good long time. Straight up or on the rocks." 96 Points Wine Enthusiast
