Bodegas Aleanna El Enemigo Chardonnay 2021, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Mendoza, Mendoza
"A hint of flint and gunpowder with waxed lemon, oyster shell, mango and salted green apples. Quite a textured, saline expression of chardonnay with tangy flavors and a mineral drive. Full-bodied and reductive with phenolic support. Savory, saline and mouthwatering finish. Love the austerity here. Drink or hold." 97, James Suckling

Beau-Sejour Becot 2019, 0.75L
Merlot / Cabernet Franc from St. Emilion, Bordeaux
"Deep, dark, rich, full-bodied, concentrated and vivacious, the wine is packed with dark, black and red pit fruits, crushed stones, chocolate, licorice, flowers and forest leaf. The wine is powerful, refined, deep and fresh, with a finish that resonates with all of its ripe fruits and a touch of salinity in the long finish. This is their third vintage with Thomas Duclos as the consultant and each year seems to get better and better here. They are certainly on a hot roll at Beau-Sejour Becot these days! Give the wine a few years in the bottle and enjoy it for at least 2 decades after that. Drink from 2026-2055." 97, Jeff Leve. The Wine Cellar Insider, Mar 2022

Giscours 2015, 0.75L
Bordeaux Blend from Margaux, Bordeaux
“This firm wine shows the tannic side of the vintage. Those tannins are dusty, enriched with black-currant fruits and a dense backdrop. The wine is concentrated and elegant, very ageworthy and not likely to be ready before 2025.” 97, Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, Feb 2018
“Plenty of violets and dark berries on offer here. This has a striking sense of purity as well as an energetic, regal palate. The structure is impressively groomed with effortless depth and length. A standout wine.” 96, James Suckling, Jan 2018
"Packed with notes of flowers, sweet, red fruits, tobacco leaf, cherries, and plums, this gorgeous wine is rich, lush, fresh, round, and complex. Yes, it is still a baby. But there is so much going on here, that it is impossible not to finish the bottle with dinner, even at this early stage of development.” 96, Jeff Leve, The Wine Cellar Insider, Jul 2022

Palmer 2014, 0.75L
Merlot / Cabernet Sauvignon from Margaux, Bordeaux
"It's easy to call this a beautiful wine-it's dense and lush, with great layers of black fruit and acidity. The first fully biodynamic vintage from this estate has certainly yielded impressive ripe fruit, with structured tannins and dark berry flavors that linger long. It has enormous potential, certainly not be ready to drink before 2027." 97, Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, Apr 2017
"The 2014 Palmer is endowed with serious depth and intensity. Black cherry, bittersweet chocolate, spice, leather, tobacco and menthol infuse the 2014 with striking midpalate depth, unctuousness and texture. Silky, plush and polished, the 2014 will likely offer a very long window of pure drinking pleasure. It is one of the sexiest, raciest 2014s readers will come across. The blend is 49 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 45 % Merlot and 6 % Petit Verdot aged in 60-65 % new French oak." 95+, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Feb 2017
"This really develops wonderfully in the glass starting out earthy with mushrooms and spices and then turns to dark fruit such as blackberries and blackcurrants. Full-bodied, very intense and minerally. Firm and silky tannins and a long, long finish. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink in 2022." 95, James Suckling, Feb 2017

Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc 2017, 0.75L
Sauvignon Blanc / Sémillon from Pessac-Léognan, Bordeaux
“One of the whites of the vintage is the 2017 Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc, which is based on 90% Sauvignon Blanc and 5% each of Sauvignon Gris and Semillon. Offering a huge, salty, mineral-laced bouquet of crushed lemons, acacia flowers, pineapple, and crushed rocks, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, racy acidity, a stacked mid-palate, and a crisp, chiseled, lengthy finish that keeps you coming back to the glass. It has the fruit and texture to drink nicely even today, yet my money is on it benefiting from 2-4 years of bottle age, and it should have over two decades of longevity.” 97, Jeb Dunnuck, Feb 2020

Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc 2019, 0.75L
Sauvignon Blanc / Sémillon from Pessac Leognan, Bordeaux
"Aromas of dried apples, pears and peaches with crushed stones. Fresh flowers, such as lilacs. Full-bodied with layers of fruit and a fresh, creamy palate that continues on for minutes. A refined, precise, and polished Smith. Tight at the end. Needs two or three years to open." 97, James Suckling, Feb 2022
“One of my favorite whites from the region is the 2019 Château Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc, which is mostly Sauvignon Blanc blended with a splash of Sauvignon Gris and Semillon. Textbook notes of honeyed lemon, melon, caramelized grapefruit, and orange blossom give way to a medium to full-bodied, ripe, seamless white that brings solid richness as well as a lively, racy quality that keeps you coming back to the glass. Drink this beautiful white over the coming 15-20 years.” 96, Jeb Dunnuck, Apr 2022
“The 2019 Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc has turned out very well in bottle, reflecting the estate's volition to craft more structured, age-worthy whites. Offering up aromas of gooseberry, nectarine, mint and lemongrass mingled with hints of pastry cream, almond paste and smoke, it's full-bodied, satiny and incisive, with a textural attack that segues into a fleshy but promisingly tightly wound mid-palate, concluding with a saline finish. As usual, the blend features a small percentage of Sauvignon Gris, which brings more dry extract to the ensemble.” 95, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Apr 2022

Suduiraut 2016, 0.75L

“The 2016 Suduiraut is fabulous. Crème brȗlée, passion fruit, tangerine peel and exotic floral notes all race out of the glass. I marvel at how Suduiraut can deliver so much flavor intensity and yet remain so gracious and classy. The 140 grams of residual sugar are very well integrated. Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Grands Echézeaux 2005, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Flagey Echezeaux, Burgundy
"I was blown away by the 2005 Grands-Echézeaux Grand Cru because though I have tasted it two or three times, never could I envisage that it would reach this level. It has laser-like precision on the nose with more blue fruit than I remember, so much mineralité, as if someone had just ground limestone directly into the wine glass. The palate is exquisitely balanced with filigree tannins framing the pure red fruit, a Pinot Noir with unerring symmetry. It gains weight and depth with aeration, ultimately transforming into a profound wine and one of the best bottles of Grands-Echézeaux that I have tasted from the domaine. Tasted at Noizé restaurant in London. (Drink between 2021-2050)." 97, Neal Martin, Vinous, Aug 2021

Full-bodied, deep, and hugely concentrated, it is muscular, firm and displays the firmest structure of the Domaine de la Romanee-Conti’s 2003s. Soy sauce, tar, chocolate, and dark fruits are found in its focused, audacious personality. Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Romanée St. Vivant Marey Monge 2005, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Vosne Romanee, Burgundy
"The 2005 Romanée-St. Vivant is both incredibly aromatic and vibrant, but, then again, it is Romanée-St. Vivant. Here, the impression is of pure verticality and towering structure. A bit darker and more brooding than RSV often is, the 2005 is a wine built for cellaring. Perhaps because it is the first wine I tasted from the domaine, I have always had a weak spot for the RSV. The 2005 is magnificent, but it is also a wine for those who can be patient. (Drink between 2020-2055)." 97, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Feb 2015

Doyard Extra Brut 'Monts Ferrés' 1er Cru 2016, 0.75L

“Disgorged this year with 0.6 grams per liter dosage, the 2016 Extra-Brut Blanc de Blancs Monts Ferrés unwinds in the glass with aromas of crisp nashi pear, yellow stone fruit, mirabelle plum, buttery pastry, honeycomb and oyster shell. Full-bodied, pure and seamless, it's deep, enveloping and vinous, with a tensile spine of acidity, an ultra-refined mousse and a long, saline finish. Produced from a parcel in Vertus that was farmed organically and biodynamically, this is one of two lieu-dit bottlings produced by Charles Doyard before his untimely passing in 2017.” 97, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Dec 2023

Krug Grande Cuvee 172eme Edition Brut NV, 0.75L
Champagne Blend from Champagne, Champagne
“The 172ème édition, based around the 2016 vintage, is a delicate, floral and saline Grande Cuvée at this early stage in its life. The palate it taut, tightly wound, gradually unfurling into toasted fruit bread, rye bread and roasted nuts, wrapped around an intricate and taut lemon core. It's exceptionally long, spicy, rounded and spherical in shape. Notes of sweet unsalted butter round out the finish, which has such length, elegance and balance. 58% of the wine is from the 2016 vintage, which saw a lot of rain in the spring and close to flowering, with 42% from reserve wines. The blend is made up of 146 separately vinified wines from 11 different years, and the oldest wine in the blend is from the 1998 vintage.” 97, Natalie Earl, Decanter, Apr 2024
“Beautiful notes of dried citrus fruit, lemon curd and dried apples with hints of spices, dried flowers and subtle brioche. I like the polished and caressing texture and steady, refreshing acidity. It’s fresh and even austere, with notes of ground spices. So vertical and firm. Structured and long. Drink or hold.” 97, James Suckling, Aug 2024
“The NV Grande Cuvée 172ème Édition is a gracious, sublime Champagne. Light citrus notes, white flowers, spice, marzipan and chamomile inflections all run through this delicate, nuanced Grande Cuvée. The 172eme is a Champagne of understatement and class that is very much a reflection of the base year. Brisk acids pull it all together. The Grande Cuvée is often quite accessible on release, but this is an Edition I would cellar for at least another year or two. It’s a fine effort from Krug. The 172ème Édition is a blend of 44% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay and 20% Meunier based on 2016 with reserve wines back to 1998. Disgorged: Winter 2022-2023.” 95, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Mar 2024

Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe Chataneauf de Pape La Crau 2020, 1.5L
Grenache / Mourvèdre / Syrah / Cinsault from Chateauneuf du Pape, Rhône
“This amazing Chateauneuf-du-Pape squares the circle of southern richness and spring-like freshness in spite of coming from a very warm and dry vintage. The stony minerality, saltiness and dried flower character wind together to form a dynamic whole, driving this gracefully across the palate. But I must also mention the savory and licorice richness that is so deftly wrapped around them. Very long, salty and velvety finish. Drink or hold.” 97, Stuart Pigott, James Suckling, Nov 2023
“This shows a lot of aromatic appeal, with dusty earth and singed incense notes covering a well of fresh cherry and red currant flavors. A gutsy, grippy style on the palate, with a cast iron spine bringing firm shape and underlying power. Slightly old-school, this still needs time to unfurl. Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah and Cinsault. Best from 2025 through 2035. 7,500 cases made, 2,500 cases imported.” 94, Kristen Bieler, Wine Spectator, Mar 2024

Marcoux Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes 2020, 0.75L
Grenache from Chateauneuf du Pape, Rhône
"A towering effort, the 2020 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes soars from the glass with pristine crème de cassis, raspberry jam, black plum, scorched earth, incense, mint, exotic spice and white pepper aromas. The precision of the individual perfumes has a laser-like quality rarely seen in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Full-bodied and framed by ever-so-velvety tannins, it reaches a spherical dimension in the mouth. The recent adoption of 3,000-liter Austrian oak barrels beautifully contributed to the shape of this wine, giving it terrific poise and tension." 97 Nicolas Greinacher, Vinous
"One of the world’s greatest expressions of Grenache year-in and year-out, the 2020 Châteauneuf Du Pape Vieilles Vignes is all varietal that was brought up in larger foudre. This cuvée comes from the Charbonnieres and Les Esqueirons lieux-dits, which are mostly more sandy soils. Its deeper purple color is followed by a concentrated, medium to full-bodied, powerful yet elegant Grenache offering ripe cherry and darker berry fruits, notes of ground pepper, garrigue, and licorice, ripe yet certainly present tannins, and a great finish. Reminding me slightly of the 2006, which is drinking brilliantly today, it’s going to offer incredible pleasure over its lengthy life. Give bottles 2-3 years and enjoy over the following two decades." 97 Jeb Dunnuck
"Impressive depth of colour for the vintage, this is extremely round, fresh, clear and well-defined. Tannins are present and fairly strict in style, but they're ripe, and all in all this is exceptionally promising. Not huge in fruit or body, but well-balanced and precise. from 120-year-old vines planted on north-facing clay and sand lieux-dits of Charbonnières and Esquières. Fermented in concrete, aged in foudre." 97 Matt Walls, Decanter

Fontodi Flaccianello della Pieve 2012, 0.75L
Sangiovese from Colli Toscana Centrale, Tuscany
"The 2012 Flaccianello della Pieve, a selection of the estate's best fruit, presents a darker, more virile expression of Sangiovese. Here, too, the purity of the flavors is truly striking. Cinnamon, cloves, new leather, licorice and plums are some of the notes that soar from the glass. The 2012 is full-bodied and voluptuous, in classic Flaccianello style, but the new French oak is much better integrated than it often is at this stage, the result of a move to lower toast levels over the last few years. This is one of the finest young Flaccianellos I can remember. Simply put, the 2012 Flaccianello is a real stunner. Wow .... Vinous readers know I regard the Sorbo as Fontodi's flagship wine. While the 2012 is truly stratospheric, so is the Flaccianello. Judging by those two wines, it is clear Mother Nature smiled on Fontodi in 2012 ..." 97 Antonio Galloni, Vinous
"Manetti calls 2012 'the vintage of two faces': summer was very hot until mid-August, when some rain brought cooler temperatures which slowed down ripening. In chillier zones than Panzano, Sangiovese struggled to ripen, he says. Even more expressive than when it was initially released, the 2012 has a decidedly exotic manner. Saffron, liquorice and cardamom overlay violets and earth. The tannins are polished with an intriguing chalky texture. It's compact and full but balanced, with a core of vibrant acidity and a long explosive finish. This has the bones to age brilliantly." 97 Michaela Morris, Decanter Magazine

Piaggia Poggio de'Colli Toscana 2020, 0.75L
Cabernet Franc from Carmignano, Tuscany
"The darkly alluring 2020 Cabernet Franc Poggio de' Colli takes its time in the glass, slowly awakening with a dusty mix of red currants, pepper-tinged rose, exotic curries and the slightest touch of animal musk that adds gravitas. This is velvety smooth yet finessed. It's cool-toned in feel with a potent wave of tart raspberry fruits that saturates the palate with savory spice and mineral tones. It leaves a coating of fine tannins and a staining of berry concentration through the finale, tapering off sapid and long, yet perfectly balanced. What a radiant vintage for the Poggio de' Colli, Piaggia's varietal Cabernet Franc. Revisit it in five years to see some real sparks fly. (Drink between 2026-2034)" 97 Eric Guido, Vinous.com

Tenuta Sette Ponti 'Orma' 2022, 0.75L
Bordeaux Blend from Bolgheri, Tuscany
"The cabernet sauvignon character comes through nicely in this red, particularly on the palate, with currants, both red and black, as well as dried flowers and cedar. Some lead pencil as well. Medium body, with polish, finesse and beauty. Lovely length and grace. This is a move towards better balance and energy for Orma. One to watch. A blend of mostly merlot with cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc." 97, James Suckling, Aug 2024
“This wine always brings the finesse, with a medium intensity jewel-like colour and a clear focus on red fruits, raspberry, cranberry, touch of salinity brought by its location close to the sea, layered with dried roses, cassis bud, orange peel, savoury white pepper and mint leaf. Good quality and a clear Tuscan interpretation of the Bordeaux grapes, making this a wine to seek out. One year in bottle after barrel ageing before release. Clay, gravel and sand soils, vineyard located just 15m above sea level, Moretti Cuseri family, first vintage 2005. Heavy bottle a little incongruous.” 94, Jane Anson, Jul 2024

Vega-Sicilia Unico 2012, 0.75L
Tempranillo Blend from Ribera del Duero , Castilla y León
"I like the intensity to this, with dark tar and smoky notes followed by graphite, tobacco, bitter cacao and dark fruit. Powerful yet tight and compact, with firm and polished tannins. Structured and so long. Tasted from magnum." 97, James Suckling, Sep 2022
“This is at once fresh and elegant on first impression, with lovely hints of fragrant Turkish bazaar spices, game and dried mint lacing the crème de cassis, violet, and black and red licorice notes. Gliding across the palate, buoyed by fresh acidity and sculpted tannins, this expands to show deep notes of tarry smoke, fig cake, espresso and iron alongside the appealing fruit and spice. Long and creamy, offering both power and grace. Tinto Fino and Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink now through 2037. 7,349 cases made, 601 cases imported.” 96, Alison Napjus, Wine Spectator, Sep 2022
“The 2012 Único from magnum showed less ripe tannins in the context of other vintages like 2014 or 2004, as the year was very warm and dry and the plants got blocked and the tannins didn't ripen perfectly. There is a little more alcohol, and it's powerful but will always have a bit of rusticity. 3,537 magnums were filled in June 2018.” 95, Luis Gutierrez, Wine Advocate, Jan 2023

Clos Mogador 2020, 0.75L
Grenache / Carignan / Syrah / Cabernet Sauvignon from Priorat, Catalunya
"The wine is more tannic and ... it matured exclusively in 2,000-liter oak foudre, and the impact of the wood is milder. A very good result, it's powerful but has good balance. The vintage is more tannic ..." 97 Luis Guiterrez, Wine Advocate
"Founded in 1979, the 20ha Clos Mogador lies at 350m altitude , surrounded by mountains up to 1,200m. The vines here grow on slate soils and the 2020 wine is a blend of 45% Garnacha, 29% Cariñena, 16% Syrah and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, fermented using 30% whole bunches and indigenous yeasts. The wine was aged entirely in 2,000L French oak foudres for 18 months before bottling. Beth Willard: A really dark and intense wine that speaks of the region. High-toned, perfumed notes and raspberry on the nose. Oak is well integrated. Big and rich, but with underlying elegance. Polished and serious. Diana Rollan: Dense and powerful nose with dark fruit, and notes of plum, black cherry, blueberries, sandalwood and dried herbs. Big and bold with pronounced tannins, but round and textured. David Williams: Complex nose with notes of blood orange, black cherry and Mediterranean herbs. Intensity but also drive on the palate; great mineral acidity, freshness." 95 Decanter Magazine

Bodegas Albamar 'Pepe Luis' Albariño 2022, 0.75L
Albariño from Rías Baixas, Galicia
"Xurxo Alba is a magician, a winemaker who knows how to tease the best out of old-vine Albariño on granite soils. This comes from five coastal parcels and is another triumph from a brilliant winemaker. Fermented with full malolactic before ageing in German and Austrian foudres, it has struck match, laurel and sea breeze aromas, mouth-watering acidity and lanolin and waxed lemon flavours.” 97, Tim Atkin MW, Dec 2024
"One of the great wines of the region, this has an expressive nose reminiscent of grapefruit and white flowers. The palate is really energetic, driven by texture and acidity. Inglenook Rubicon 2018, 0.75L
Bordeaux Blend from Rutherford, California
"A lovely enticing nose filled with rich plum, fig and blackcurrant fruits - heady and opulent. The palate is precise with a distinct texture, certainly dense and ripe but the flavours just settle on the tongue giving spiced touches of liquorice but allowing the freshness and acidity to underpin the overall taste. It feels very carefully constructed with everything in place allowing power and generality but neatly packaged and not overdone. A blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. Wines are aged for 18 months in 100% French oak, 76% new." 97, Georgie Hindle, Decanter, Jul 2021
“Subtle and complex red with blackberry, black truffle, sweet tobacco and mahogany. Highlights of lavender and violets. Full-bodied and very tight with finesse and tension. Very polished, fine tannins. Long finish. Delicious already, but best after 2022.” 97, James Suckling, Dec 2020
“The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Rubicon is based on a blend of 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, and the balance Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. It’s a more backward, closed wine, offering classy notes of crème de cassis, lead pencil shavings, freshly crushed stone, and cedar. More medium to full-bodied and elegant, I’d like to see a touch more density and richness on the mid-palate, but it's beautifully balanced, has gorgeous tannins, integrated acidity, and outstanding length on the finish. Give this classic, impressive, old school beauty 4-5 years in the cellar and enjoy over the following 15-20.” 95, Jeb Dunnuck, Jan 2021

Michel Rolland Cabernet Sauvignon MR 2019, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, California
"A joint project between consultant winemakers Michel Rolland and Jean Hoefliger. Hoefliger chooses the grapes, harvests and ferments the wine, and Rolland joins for blending sessions. Fruit comes from the Sleeping Lady and Denali vineyards plus a secret site. Lavish aromas of violets, blue fruits and sweet cedar. The palate rides waves of saturated black fruit and brown spices, tethered by fine-grained tannins and savoury baking spice oak notes. 700 cases made in 2019, building great momentum since the first 2010 release. (Drink between 2022-2045)" 97 Jonathan Cristaldi, Decanter
"A collaboration between famed consultants Michel Rolland and Jean Hoefliger, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is a classic, all-American, opulent Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon that just about jumps out of the glass with its massive cassis, blueberry, classy oak, spice, and floral aromas and flavors. It brings serious fruit and texture, is full-bodied, has sweet tannins, and no hard edges, all making for an undeniably delicious Cabernet Sauvignon that can be drunk today or cellared for 15-20 years. (Drink between 2021-2041)" 97 Jeb Dunnuck

Mount Eden Cabernet Sauvignon Estate 2017, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon from Santa Cruz Mountains, California
"The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon is going to need a number of years to come around. The only question is how many. In 2017, the Mount Eden Cabernet is shockingly opulent. Inky black fruit, bittersweet chocolate, spice, leather and incense are all dialed up in this super-sized Cabernet. Even so, there is plenty of structure lurking beneath. I can't wait to see how this ages. (Drink between 2027-2042)" 97, Antonio Galloni, Vinous.com

Stephan Vineyards L'Aventure Proprietary Red Estate Cuvee. 2020, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon / Syrah / Peiti Verdot from Willow Creek District, California
“A beguiling blend of dusty violets, crushed stone, musky black currants and grilled herbs makes the 2020 Estate Cuvée impossible to ignore. Racy yet supple, this soothes with its ripe red and black fruits while also exciting the palate through a core of zesty acidity. A staining of minerality lingers as the 2020 finishes with epic length and potency. Grippy tannins tug at the perimeters of the palate, leaving nuances of black licorice and clove to resonate. This radiant beauty has a very bright future. It's a blend of 45% Syrah, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Petit Verdot”. 97, Eric Guido, Mar, 2023
